Most of these reviews are from years ago. I would agree then, not now. I got a blueberry tea loaf which was 40% smaller than with previous management and cost 30% more. And the loaf was in a disposable tray to make it look bigger. It had a few tasteless blueberries in it, but it tasted like pecan or banana bread. Consistency was very doughy, underbaked like a pudding, and you could barely swallow it...so. I am returning it today and getting my $9.25 back. We come to Evansville at least six times a year for dog shows. Not only is Great Harvest convenient, they make the BEST fresh sandwiches in the area. Three wishes: 1) they go back to being open on Saturdays. 2) they serve milkshakes. 3) some entrepreneur opens one where we live in Murfreesboro, and near the college. read more

So many good things. Today I tried the white chocolate cherry swirl (probably my new favorite) and the bacon cheddar beer bread. So yummy! I love their chicken salad too. The owners are fantastic, and friendly. They don't just sit back and watch, they bake the bread, greet customers, give samples, run the register, a little bit of everything! They have breads, cookies, scones, sandwiches, muffins, all kinds of goodies. Some of my favorite cookies are the salted caramel, the oatmeal chocolate chip Walnut, and the no bakes. And they are HUGE! Now that I live close by, I will definitely be going in weekly, if not more often than that! read more

My mom has been buying their bread since I was a kid. The cinnamon bread is AMAZING, especially warmed and with their butter! However, it wasn't until today that I realized they also sold breakfast and lunch items! Oh my goodness, definitely worth the stop. Their Butter Toffee Pecan Muffins or whatever they are, are delicious. They're seriously the best baked thing I've probably ever bought in the Evansville area. I wasn't too fond of the one sandwich I did eat there, but the coconut bread, the cinnamon bread, every bread I've ever tried there has been delicious and worth buying. They do bread right! I really liked the pizza pocket (or whatever it was called) I had there. And it SUCKS that they close so early. Oh well. All in all, they're a trip worth making. Update: After making several more trips here and trying many more things several more of my favorites are--The Peanut Butter Pie, its like a cross between a cake and a pie and a bread and it's very moist surprisingly and very peanut buttery. (My most favorite thing here now, will literally buy whatever is left in the case at the end of a day if I have the money), the salted caramel cookies (uh do I even need to go into how yummy?), the cookies in general are all wonderful and they have a special if you buy 8, and they're huge, the pumpkin and snickerdoodle muffins (these are two different types not one weird kind), the dessert bread which was a special in July (dunno when they'll make it again but yum)--although it was a big discussion after trying samples of this and the snickerdoodle bread, (which was also delicious) on which bread to buy--so thumbs up on that one, The cheddar garlic bread is a winner, the maple oat bread was good and we even thought we could use it for french toast but it didn't last long enough for that! Anyway, they give samples every day on several items so try something. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's literally the best bakery in evansville. Whoa after reading this I'm starting to rethink my fondness for baked goods. (Keep in mind this was over a looooong period of time! Five months) read more

Stopped in for lunch the other day. While I was looking over the menu, I was invited to try a few samples. Needless to say, after the samples, I left with a loaf of the white chocolate cherry swirl bread. I ordered the chicken salad, and had it dressed with lettuce, tomato, and onion . The sandwich was very good, and made to order. The chicken salad is not sweet, has chunks of chicken, and pecans in it, which gave it a really nice crunch. The staff was very friendly, and although they were busy when I went in, I didn't have to wait long at all for my lunch. I got a bag of chips, a drink, and a cookie- to make it a combo. The sandwich was pretty filling so I took my no bake cookie to go. When I did eat the cookie a few hours later, it was still soft- very very tasty, and as big as my hand! This place was a happy accident that I just happened to notice driving by, I'm glad that I stopped in, and I will definitely be back. read more
