Ate here twice over this past weekend. Was in town for an archery tournament as an official and due to weather we got out late so opted to give Ritzy's a try since it isn't a national chain on Friday night. It was after nine and they were still rocking out the food. Due to being so late just had the double cheeseburger and shoestring fries and a Dr. Pepper but service was great and food was excellent. Love the retro interior and the old pix on the wall. The ice cream looked so good I came by after we finished on Sunday evening and ate again but this time added the mint chocolate chip shake. Awesome .all I had hoped it would be. read more

G D Ritzy's - Inside - Burgers Near Me - Evansville, Indiana

I'm not sure how old this place is but it's not a lot to look at on from the outside. Cute diner decor inside but it's the food that will have you coming back. Yummy burgers, good fries and ice cream. Did I mention the ice cream? So good! read more

G D Ritzy's - Entrance - Burgers Near Me - Evansville, Indiana

Burger was delicious, though I'm not completely sold on the thin fries. My one issue with the burger is I wish the buns were thicker. Their banana ice cream was outstanding. Quick, friendly service. Restaurant reminds me of old school diners I grew up with. read more

Best Swiss chocolate ice cream in the tristate! Ordered a quart of ice cream reasonably priced. Don't like their straw fries.

On a recent trip to Evansville we were looking for a quick lunch. The most basic of lunches - burger and fries. Sometimes you don't want something corporate or fancy or clever or original or novel, you just want a great burger and fries. The first criteria was nothing corporate...nothing from some big-ass national chain of assembly line, pre-processed, over-priced, redundant food. Enter GD Ritzy's. We'd driven past GD Ritzy's the previous day and within 5 minutes I was Yelping and Googling to see what it was about....and I liked what I read. I had even looked at the menu so even though it would be the next day, I knew what I was going to order. On this particular weekend (Memorial Day weekend) the dining room was closed, so we got into the drive thru line, which wasn't too bad, given it was 12:30 in the afternoon. The line was moving pretty quickly. I ordered a double cheese burger with everything and fries (and a HUGE ass Dr. Pepper®), my wife a plan hot dog and onion rings. From the time we ordered to the time we got to the window was less than five minutes. A quick exchanged of cash for food and we were on our way. Since the dining room wasn't open we drove to Vann Park to eat (it was about a five minute drive) where we landed on a pic-a-nic table to have lunch. I don't know what it is about local eateries but that was, no joke, the best burger I've had in AAAAGES. Commercial/chain restaurants are more about productivity, but this burger from G D Ritzy's was AWESOME. The ratio of toppings to burger patties to cheese was absolutely spot-on. The fries (shoestring fries) were good, but they're never my go-to. My wife said the hot dog was good and I was able to sneak an onion ring from her and it was killer! So our first visit to G D Ritzy's wasn't just a success, it was "holy cow, this is good, we're going to visit again the next time we're in town!" good! Catch you on July 4th weekend! read more

G D Ritzy's - a sign for a restaurant - Burgers Near Me - Evansville, Indiana

Food is always delicious. It's a good place to bring kids. Very much the "old diner" atmosphere.

I love this salad from here!! It is the only thing I get. It is very filling and worth the money. The staff is always nice and are very helpful. The restaurant is always clean, even the outside is clean. The drive thru can be kind of slow sometimes, but goes for every where right now, since everyone is so short staffed. read more

G D Ritzy's - Deluxe Garden Salad with French Dressing - Burgers Near Me - Evansville, Indiana

Food is good but seems like they add ice cubes in the ice cream for filler. Large balls of ice throughout the "ice cream".

The best place go for food and ice cream and if you need a job come over here to gd ritzy. When I stay all of this I am a worker here gd ritzy and you get pay ready good read more

Food was decent. Customer service was terrible. Woman at the front got my order completely wrong, even though the screen had my order correct. I tried to politely tell her that my order was incorrect and she told me I was wrong and that I ordered what she gave me even though I did not. She then offered no correction and made me take the order that was wrong. She also forgot our sauce. read more

My first visit, I waa greatest with kindness and a smile. The meal was made to order and pretty fast. Once seated I noticed how clean the carpeted area looks compared to other eating establishments around. All of my questions were answered with enthusiasm and a politeness that I feel has been lacking in small burger establishments. Over all a ( 5 *) star staff makes it worth while! read more

Came here for ice cream on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm. Ice cream was good. Service was terrible, kid didn't say hello, mag I help you or anything when we paid. Restaurant was nasty, floors were dirty, food all over the floor under tables. Windows were nasty, chairs and high chairs were greasy and stained. This place has really gone down hill. It's obvious management doesn't take care of the facility or encourage customer service. Place is a dump.... read more

After a fun night visiting Evansville, my friends & I were looking for some good grub before leaving town on Sunday morning. One of my friends (Shout out to Daphne A.) went to undergrad in Evansville, and she suggested this place. We trust her, so we went along. The outside and inside slightly remind me of Steak & Shake meets an old diner. I had this peanut butter & jelly sandwich... something I don't think I have ever ordered at a restaurant! It was pretty great though, but I wish I would've ordered milk to go with it. The bread was white and thick, and milk (which is on the menu) would've helped it go right down. But regardless, it was good! I also had french fries (Yeah, it was a bit bizarre...), which are shoestring-style. Not the best ever, but they hit the spot for the grease I was craving. (Yeahhhh...) They also have the typical burger 7 such fare, if you don't want PB&J. ;) After I ate, I went back up front ice cream. There are a variety of delicious flavors, which you can sample. Any of them can be made into a milkshake, which is what I opted for... That hit the spot too! Yum! This is a 3.5 star place for me. It hit the spot and I would definitely eat here again. There aren't many frills, but it feels home-y. Worth a visit!!! read more

While just a burger and fry joint, we all know Ritzy's has a lot of something extra going on. I've been eating here since I was a baby and will continue to eat here! I love the #1 (cheeseburger, shoestring fries, drink).......I love the hot dogs, the salads are delicious, and I love love love the chili which with the 7 different ways can be customized for you! The ice cream is yum yum yum--famous chocolate, mint chocolate chunk, peppermint, butter pecan, oreo--mmmmmmm....and get a sundae or milkshake! And if you get chocolate, it can be vanilla-chocolate or chocolate-chocolate (def. go choc-choc) read more

I love GD Ritzy's burgers and little fries! They have the best hard dipped ice cream too!

I ordered a fish sandwich basket. The fish and fries were very good. Wasn't crazy about the Cole slaw. We went thru the drive thru and it was very quick. I did ask if they had baked potatoes and she answered like that was a dumb question but I looked at the menu online before we went and it showed they had them but this location does not. read more

I absolutely love GD Ritzy's! It's the best little burger place in Evansville! It has a retro 1950s feel, and the decor is awesome! Service is always fast, and it's so good! Be sure to save room for ice cream or a milkshake because they have some of the best in town! read more

This is my go to each time I visit Evansville. 1st Avenue is the very best! I miss living in Evansville and being able to eat here when I want. I recommend the 3 way chili. Even though it is not on the menu they always make my grilled cheese to eat with my meal. Staff is always awesome and the place is always clean. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

I lived in Evansville for just about 2 years. Thank God I left when I did. Otherwise by now I'd be on my way to a stint on one of those shows where they have to cut down your wall to get to you and climb over piles of GD Ritzy's bags to get you out with a forklift. This place is SO good. From the minute you walk inside, you're reminded of that little greasy food/ice cream shack/drive in most of us frequented as kids. The fries: thin, crispy heaven. The burgers: drive-in great. Nothing gourmet here folks - greasy, melty and with super-fresh toppings. The staff: mostly high school kids but they are very disciplined. They wear the little paper hats and everything! The PB & J!: Crazy good. They use thick bread, chopped peanuts and sliced strawberries! Perfect combination and great for the kiddos. The ice cream: home-made and pretty good but not the best I've had. (Sconnie bias) I have no idea how McDonald's and Burger King stay in business in E-Ville with a place like this around. YUM!! read more

Good food, great atmosphere. I recommend the chili dogs.. so cheap, and soooo good. The shakes are yummy, too! I ordered a chocolate shake and had to choose between chocolate chocolate or chocolate vanilla. I went with chocolate vanilla, which is more like your everyday chocolate shake. There ice cream is also amazing. I had a little of the Banana Supreme or something like that.. it tasted like a frozen, creamy banana pie and even had little pieces of vanilla wafers. read more

I just ate at the Greenriver rd store. 8:00pm Tuesday night. There were several people working but I was expecting the same quality that I have had for the last 30+ years. They had a stack of burgers pre cooked and fries that were just dropped in the grease for a few seconds to reheat them. Just very poor quality. $8.85. For bad food. I went back to counter to get a regular scoop of ice cream and the ice cream was good but it was barely a jr scoop. Another $2.50 for a half scoop of ice cream. Please close the store sooner in the day if you Don't want to maintain the same quality level as you have during the day. read more

Old timey chain that I've loved since I was a kid. Their burgers are thin yet flavorful, like Steak N Shake steak burgers but better. Shoestring fries are perfectly potato-y yet light. The ice creams are so good, and always the best part of going here. read more

The ice cream was on point but we elected to eat our ice cream in the car. The restaurant had a dated dirty feeling. Like an old Dairy Queen that you know is about to be shut down so they just stopped caring about atmosphere or quality. The people working the front counter were nice and quick to help us. I would go here again but would probably use the drive through next time. read more

We usually come here just for ice cream and it's always good. The chocolate, pumpkin and banana pudding ice cream are my favorites.

Great hamburgers and fries. The ice cream is great. I eat here everytime I'm in Evansville.
