Restaurant was dirty. Food was sub par. Grilled chicken sandwich had no seasoning. Their fountain coke machine was broken and they were selling can drinks. On top of all that they had no restroom, or at least it was marked no public restroom. That to me meant they didn't want downtown foot traffic coming in to use the restroom without being a customer. No, it meant they didn't have one their customers who were dining there could use. You have to go across the street! What a dump, obviously on its last leg. It'd be better off closed! read more

I've heard really good things about the burgers from this joint so I thought I'd swing by on my lunch break and check it out. It is located within a small strip with a few other businesses. They share a large parking lot so plenty of places to park. When I walked in to order there was a small line but it was moving pretty quickly. They have a few tables if you wish to stay there and dine in. You go to the counter and place your order and are given a number to wait for your food. They have lemonade, tea as well as canned sodas for their drinks. They have a few sandwich options, hamburgers, chicken, Phillies and some seafood. I went with the Buffalo chicken sandwich and fries. They do not have a restroom here for guests but I was told i could go across the parking lot to a public building and was given specific instructions where the restroom was. Once I returned it only took a couple minutes longer for my food to be ready. My sandwich was pretty good. The chicken was hot and crispy. The Buffalo sauce could've been a bit more spicy in my opinion. The fries were just ok. Service was great. I'll definitely go back to try a burger sometime. read more

First time we visited Major Munch today, near the old Post Office in Evansville. Great service. I didnt feel pressured to order a certain thing. She did recommended a couple of things that were popular. Joey got the Steak Philly [not pictured] and I got a cheeseburger with crinkle cut fries. What Major Munch lacks in ambiance they sure make up in taste and price! We tried a burger a chicken and shrimp basket and a fiddler and everything was delicious. We're devastated we hadn't gotten out to this place sooner. It's a bit hard to spot in its location since it's in a kind of corner of a business center. But oh my gosh! I kid you not- guys it is worth the trip! It's quite the hidden gem. The bacon on the burger was cooked just perfect between floppy and crispy, the chicken strips had a unique seasoning that made me wanna slap my mama AND my grandma down and that homemade tartar sauce can't be beat! I wanted to buy a bottle but I'm guessing since it's home made there's no preservatives and I don't eat bottles of tartar sauce that fast hehehe. All this and they are priced pretty low as well! First time here. Came for lunch. Service was quick but the man and woman behind the counter either hate their lives or are just sad people in general. Never cracked a smile. Let's start with the only one negative I could come up with. No restrooms!!! To me that is a pretty big deal. Like most ppl I like to wash my hands before I set down to eat. Not possible here. A 4x4 ft bathroom would work! Besides that kinda big problem the cheeseburger I had was fantastic. I'd step out on a limb here and say it is prob the second best burger in eville.( only second to the Kobe beef burger I had at Bonefish.) the fries were okay. Nothing you couldn't buy at the grocery store and make yourself. As far as the decor... It's a mix of trying to look old fashioned and what ever they could find in the garage. But then again I didn't go there to look at pictures on the wall. I would have given it a 5 star but the restroom issue is kind of a big deal. Today was the first time I visited Major Munch's downtown location. My wife and I were in the mood for a burger and since we were going to an IceMen game tonight I thought it would be a good idea to check this place out since it was on our way. Pros: 1. Burgers were very good and they were delivered fresh to our table. I'd give them a seven our of ten. Not too many in town are better. I'd give the burgers a 7 our of 10. Fries were hot and fresh 2. Friendly staff 3. Fresh food Cons: 1. No public restroom 2. No public restroom 3. No public restroom 4. People eat burgers with their hands. How can people wash their hands with no public restroom? On the way in your customers are touching door handles, their money, the counter, etc. Absolutely Unacceptable. No excuse for a place with a dining room. This isn't a kiosk at the mall. At least there was a bucket of hand sanitizer on the counter, but this is the only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 0. 5. The ice was empty during half of our visit. Toward the end of our visit it was refilled. They may have been short staffed on this occasion. 6. Burgers were fresh, but just a little to salty 7. Fries were fresh, but a little too similar to what you can make a home. 8. No atmosphere in the dining room. Cheap and cheesy decor. The tables and chairs need to be replaced. There are cheap signs everywhere. The cheap menu boards that look like something you'd see at a little league concession stand. Bottom Line: I'll go back, but I'd like to see this place step up their game. Most people spending $7 on a fresh burger and friends will go to Five Guys. At Five Guys you'll spend about the same and the quality is as good, but you'll also get restrooms, more condiment choices, some atmosphere, and a dining room that isn't cluttered. I'll go back, but I hope to see this establishment improve or I'll stop trying. And for God's sake, get a restroom or change this establishment to "to go" food only. read more

Frequent this spot a couple times a month at minimum. Ordered a combo that comes with a drink. This is the second time this has happened to me when they are out of tea. This time I said something and the lady said we are closed and not making any more tea today. This was at 225 I'm in the afternoon, there store hours are never posted so you never know when they are open or closed. No refund or anything offered except no tea! They should not have taken my order if they couldn't fulfill it. I even told her with my order that I wanted tea and she processed it. This will be the last time I go to this place again. Additionally there tables need a good cleaning Im sorry but when I ordered if you were closed, she could have kindly told me this instead of taking my order. Also, How was I supposed to know you were closed at 225 pm when there were other customers around and store hours were not posted. Yelp also says your open until 6? I also indicated to the person taking my order that I wanted iced tea since this had happened before. She gave me the cup to fill it as well. Maybe she could have told me then that she had already cleaned out the tea container and I would have had the option of not getting a drink which would have been ok with me. It is all about how a customer is treated and the disposition toward them. Customer service 101 was lacking in this case. I know there are bigger fish to fry and I'm not trying to be a jerk, but feel you took my review the wrong way instead of learning from it.
