Soooooo good! I wish I'd taken photos, but I was hangry (just ask my husband LoL!), and by the time I thought about it, our meals were nearly gone. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich, and it was even better than the ones we order at a Cuban restaurant we frequent in Florida. I had the chicken breast platter, and oh my goodness, so delicious! With the platter you get to choose 2 different sauces. Upon the owner's (?) recommendation, I got the Jalapeno/Cilantro and Chimichuri. Yum! I couldn't decide which one was better! My 2 sides were also delicious. Everything was fresh and hot. My only complaint was the building needs a little TLC, especially the bathroom. It was clean, but the sink and door are in need of servicing. Also, the ventilation needs improvement. It got a bit smoky in the dining room. They have a nice outdoor area that I'm looking forward to taking advantage of when the weather is warmer. Small price to pay for the yummy food though, so it still gets 5 stars! If you haven't stopped in to try Rockin' Chicken, you are missing out. The service is amazing. The owner is so personable and makes you feel very welcomed. We have gotten take out and dined in. Everything we have tried has been extremely fresh and tasty! My date stated "This is the REAL finger lickin' good!" He also said that they have the best ribs he has ever had in a restaurant. I tasted them, they have char and great seasoning, he was not wrong. We have tried the roasted chicken, steak burrito bowl, loaded fries, green beans, and several sauces. The food was amazing! I had the Cuba Sandwich and my hubby had the sirloin steak. The place should be packed out every night. This family owned restaurant is friendly and has good music too! They also have a lunch menu for 9.99 with 10 different lunches. Cheeseburgers are 1/2 pound made with fresh ground beef. Plenty of seating. read more

Tried for the first time. The decor caught me first thing. Love the large Elvis statue as you come in. The place is very clean. Was greeted right off. Love the natural wood tables. Service was very fast. Would definitely recommend and added to our list of restaurants in Evansville. read more

I'm going to spread the love for Rockin Chicken. It is one of Evansville's hidden gems. The food is phenomenal. Especially for the price. I usually get chicken and plantains. Loretta got the steak toco platter. They have several sauces. Sometimes I get spicy BBQ. It's amazing. But the chicken is sooo delicious that you don't need sause. I usually sneak over here about once a week for lunch. The lunch specials during the week, you can't eat the good for the prices. And I hope you lick Rock music. That's the theam here. My friend and I decided to try a new restaurant. I used to live here and was visiting. My friend used to live here, moved away and has been back a few years. When I suggested we get something to eat, my friend told me there aren't any good food places here. So, being a Yelp girl, I said let's just see. I found Rockin' Chicken, read the reviews, and we decided to give it a try. When we walked in, my friend saw someone she knew eating there who told us we can't go wrong with whatever we order. Great! The place is very clean, neat and tidy. There's plenty of seating for after you order. They also have tables and chairs outside too. We started outside, but moved inside once the rain came. We told the young lady taking our order at the counter that it was our first time at the restaurant. We asked her to tell us about the menu. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and excited to tell us about some of the favorites and also the special. We decided to order the special and an extra side to split. The special was a Cuban sandwich, with Argentinian fries, and we ordered a side of homemade potato salad. The food came out hot and delicious! Since I'm from here originally, I know people want to know which kind potato salad they sell. It is cold and mayonnaise based. Not mustard and not hot:) It was so creamy and delicious. I must say the meat on the Cuban was seasoned so beautifully, but the stars of the show were the Argentinian fries! Hot with parsley and Parmesan. The food here is to die for! Amazing taste and perfect seasonings. The owner came out and talked us through the menu. The barbecue is the best we have had in Evansville. They make all of their sauces. Plantains were amazing and there's a reason their name mentions chicken. You cannot go there without trying ... and then loving the perfectly smoked chicken. read more

Lunch for 3, $50 and it just wasn't very good. For only $17, I got a rubbery skirt steak, undercooked potato salad, mac and cheese (not bad) and a tiny roll. The other two meals were somewhat less expensive and somewhat better (edible). The counter person and person who cleared the table were friendly and helpful. You place your order at the counter, drink out of plastic cups, eat with plastic silverware that you gather yourself and eat off on plastic plates. In my opinion this is just a overpriced fast food restaurant that wants to be so much more. The lack of ambiance was similar to any other fast food restaurant. read more

The grilled chicken wings are worth it! We came in for the holidays and decided to get some late lunch (early dinner.) I had the 5 wings and a stake salad. My mom and grandfather had a chicken bowl. Oh my goodness!!! Best chicken in a restaurant for a loooong time. I went with and was treated to lunch with a coworker and everything from the service to the food was awesome. The staff brought us our food and constantly ask if we're doing okay. Which we were because it was some good eating. The restaurant is clean as is the restroom which is important for any established. The inside is very roomy for it visitors too. Best part besides the food is you can eat outside which is beautifully set and on a good day, as of this writing is a treat. So I decided to give rockin chicken, a second try. Again, the pulled pork was cold. Unfortunately, I won't be spending any more money there. I got the pulled pork platter. I called in the order and picked it up at 11:30, right on time. The pulled pork was barely heated. I ordered two sauces on the side. They come straight out of the refrigerator and ice cold. So you can't add the sauce to heat up the meat because it makes it more cold. And I also can't believe the size that they give you for a side. Very tiny. I just don't understand it. Maybe they are better when you dine in. The flavors are there. Fortunately, I was headed home, so I could heat up the meat in order to make it edible.
