First time visiting Acapulco! The staff was courteous, and the food was delicious. For an appetizer we ordered Guacamole Mexicano, it was thick, not runny, and it was mixed well with diced tomatoes and onions. Not spicy at all. For the entrée, we ordered mixed Fajitas and Fiesta Fajita Mexicana, both came with a side of rice, beans, salad, sour cream, guacamole and tortillas (recommend maiz instead of flour) They are large portions and came sizzling! When having a big meal, you need to have a big drink. My partner ordered a large maragarita, unfortunately, her drink was weak. Also, we were seated at a table that was wobbly which could have spilled our drinks or salsa. We had Eduardo R R for our server, however, truly...we felt like we were being served by a half dozen highly competent staff. Absolutely loved the place. Had a larger party with 8 people, and we were at times handled by several different staff members with the feeling that they only wanted to make sure we were happy. AMazing service and good solid food, with good choices, well portioned and great options from the bar. To be clear, this was a great choice of places toeat and we were overwhelmingly impressed with the staff. Hard to beat the place in this area and any other for that matter, would highly recommend and will definitely eat there again soon. Food is good - lots of selections on the menu, but many of them sound extremely similar - just switching out an ingredient or two. Nonetheless, I've never had anything from here that I didn't like. Service is friendly, but slow. Especially if you're in a larger group - we had about 8 on our last trip and watched a table of 4 come in after us, getting their food well before us, and were packing up to leave as our food was brought to the table. I recommend getting the cheese for the chips - of course I recommend it everywhere, but it doesn't disappoint here! This is our go to sit down Mexican restaurant. After trying a couple Mexican restaurants in Evansville and being slightly disappointed, we decided to give this place a try. I'm so glad we did. Some of their dishes are unique and interesting, great flavors. Their paella though, is my all time favorite dish. They give you so much and do not skimp out on the meat. Four people, once the food did come out, only for one person. 15 minutes later when we were able to flag our waiter down he ghosted us. No refills on drinks left to our own. The fajitas for two were cold and never got any attention to the meals. When I asked about it they said oh can't help the kitchen is busy. I'm from Southern California (please don't hold that against me) & this is Southern Indiana (we moved here 6 weeks ago), so I don't want to be too hard on this establishment BUT I HATE IT!! Guacamole was whipped (no chunks of avocado, tomato, etc) & looked/tasted like paste. My granddaughter had tacos w/carne asada. She asked for hard shell, rather than soft. The shell she received was pre-made, like store-bought, rather than fresh. She ate half of a taco, her rice & part of her beans, which reminds me...the BEANS ARE WHIPPED! The weirdest thing I've ever seen!! (I have included a photo.) My wife had flautas...the dish comes with two, rice & "beans." She only ate one flauta & the rice. I had huevos rancheros. Great portion of eggs (4!!) but they were overcooked--REALLY overcooked. The dish comes with rice & beans, as well as your choice of floor or corn tortillas. I requested the flour (4!!) & ate one with the rice. Couldn't eat the "beans" or eggs. I don't eat meat, so I depend on beans mostly (eggs occasionally) for my protein. Unfortunately I didn't have any protein at Fiesta Acapulco. I let the manager know that we were not happy with everything (I was nice, I promise!). After we spoke I thanked him--his reply was, "no problem." Odd reply after hearing that we weren't really happy with the food. The waiter (a really nice guy) took off the guacamole & huevos rancheros from the final bill. I really appreciate that!! I REALLY wish we had loved the food so I could have written a glowing review!! Obviously it's the type of Mexican food I'm use to when we lived in California. The parking lot & restaurant is packed this Saturday evening, so Hoosiers MUST love it--genuinely happy for them!! read more

I've been going here since the Apple Center days. The food keeps you coming back. The chips and salsa are great. The burritos are delicious. I love the fish tacos and fajitas. Recently a friend got me hooked on the shrimp cocktail. Bud!!! They make it with big grilled shrimp, tons of avocado and cilantro , the the sauce has just enough spiciness with a little ketchup thrown in for that classic cocktail sauce taste. Bud!!!! I like this place. Funky decor outside, a playground for the kids, some neat little fountains. Sets Acapulco apart from other Mexican restaurants. Menu is pretty big with many options. Taco salad was very delicious with a little El Yucateco hot sauce slammed on there (I gotta start carrying some of that stuff with me places). Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meal too. Our waiter was jovial and confident. I will kick this review into 5 star status if they will drop their prices. A little bit high, but I'm admittedly cheap (value-sensitive) and I understand they need to make a living. Do recommend, but too expensive for me to become a regular. Will be back though. read more

My wife and I have always talked about how it would be nice if a restaurant had a playground. That is the first thing we noticed when riding past Fiesta Acapulco, and it was honestly a big reason we chose to eat there. The kids loved the nuggets & fries and chips & queso, and I had a grilled chicken quesadilla that was covered in queso. When in Newburgh, this is our go to place. Love sitting on the deck looking at the lake and all the geese and ducks while eating. The Steak and shrimp fajitas are amazing! I apologize it has taken this long to review our local watering hole. What a great restaurant gem in Newburgh. Yes I gave a Mexican restaurant 5 stars for a few reasons. I've never had a warm beer, never had a bad margarita ( yes it's a mix), the food is real and not some mystery meat, atmosphere is very kid friendly in parts yet still a bar area for those of us without kids. I always order the 2 chicken fried burritos. The burritos are always crispy and the burrito is 100% marinated juicy white chicken. I have had multiple meals and do not prefer their ground beef (not much of a fan anyways). Their Monday/Wednesday/ Saturday drink special is best in Newburgh. $1 small margarita or upgrade to a double for $1 extra. Their draft beer is good as well and served in a ice cold mug. As the reigning duke and regular I will also address Lanna L comments, I apologize a waiter found you attractive and wanted to start conversation this must be so unusually for you. Yes the ladies in my family have grabbed lunch after shopping multiple times and some waiters have called them "chica's" and have interacted, but never crossed the line, my mom would have put them back in line quickly. I called back and told her my order. This means the order took more time than I thought it would take. I give this place a 3. They are like that of a El Nopal run off and did not much authentic Mexican food. They do have a playground for kids and they serve alcohol so that was nice.
