Don't listen to the bad comments on here about this place. This place was awesome!!! It's in a strange location, but worth the hunt. They had $1.99 margaritas! How can you go wrong with that! And it was on a Friday night. So they could use a little maintenance on the inside, so it looks like the electrical wiring is completely hanging out of several lights, so what if one booth looks like the rest of the ceiling might 'give-way' and the light will fall completely on someone's head in that booth. Just don't sit someone in that booth! Why am I such an advocate for this place you might ask? Because this was the only Mexican restaurant out of three that we went to that actually had somewhat normal salsa! It wasn't super sweet and it wasn't gross. It was good! And it probably had the best hands down Mexican food I've ever had! Well one dish in particular. It was called the "pollo indiana "!!! Omg it was amazing. If you have ever had and like Arroz con pollo from other mexican restaurants,then You are gonna LOVE this dish. It is that, but with chorizo on top. The chicken is actually one big flat piece, with all the yummy cheese covered toppings drizzled all over. They don't put it on the rice, which is on the side, but you can easily scoot it over in the cheese. This dish was awesome! It is a must have. Also the waitress brought us our own pitcher of water. Now I know some people might think that this is her way of being lazy, but I actually appreciated it. That way I don't have to wait on refills. They also had Delicious Queso. It had small bits of jalapeños in it. But don't be alarmed, it wasn't overwhelming and too spicy at all. There is also Something called the anaconda challenge for those big eaters. Some people like those sort of challenges. We steered clear of that. But it is an option for you. I think you win a free T-shirt and your meal is free. I called in a lunch order for an Indiana Quesadilla and it was ready for pick-up in 12 minutes, plus the food was hot and delicious. The quesadilla was crispy, the chicken was tender and tasty and the peppers, mushrooms and onions were all cooked just right. And they are always friendly. Yesterday I went there for the first time and really enjoyed it. I liked how they seemed to have a separate lunch and dinner menu so that you actually aren't confused as to which one you should be ordering off of. They have everything any Mexican restaurant does, but seem to have their own takes on it. I had the huevos con chorrizo and it was DELICIOUS. one thing I didn't like were the chips--they seemed sort of airy and made with old oil, even though they were very fresh. We visited this restaurant after a lacrosse game with the family. It is a nice family atmosphere. The food was good. I had a strawberry daiquiri with sugar on the rim. One of my friends had the red sangria which was also great! Good came out rather quick and of course they started us off with chips and salsa. Not the best yet not terrible. Usually the chips there have a burnt taste and their quesadillas taste more like grilled cheeses but the price is where it's at. The Burrito Jalisco is gigantic and tasty and most of their food seems all around healthier tasting than its main competitors. I've never had a bad service there. read more

This place had amazing food and service! However, their margaritas were terrible. I got the chicken fajitas, and they were amazing! Not only was the chicken and peppers delicious, but it was a huge portion (and only $10)! I had plenty to take home, and it was just as good the next day. My boyfriend got the spicy chicken monster burrito, which was also really good! It was big enough that we took home half of it. The margaritas were the only bad part about the place. We got them on the rocks, and they were green and were too limey, not like regular margs, which are almost more lemony. Terrible. Don't get the margaritas, but definitely get the fajitas!! read more

Went here today with some family. Extremely disappointed. Bathroom situation is disgusting. It smelled like an outhouse. The smell permeated the entire place. Ordered the flautas and the meat was nearly non-existent. What neat was there was dry and not good. Racist staff. I went with my girlfriend and we got seated at the very far back next to the DISH WASHERS when there were plenty of open tables at the front. Waitress was very rude and did not check on us at all. Middle-aged and elderly white patrons were obviously bothered by us being there due to the rude stares and whispers. Very unpleasant. If I didn't have to give a star, I wouldn't. This place is terrible. Maybe three table when we got here and one was getting ready to leave. Service was terrible, the waiter kept going to the corner to check his phone. Had a margarita and couldn't finish it because it was literally only sweet and sour. The food taste like every other Mexican restaurant, but was so poorly plated my lettuce was soggy by the cheese by the time I received it. Place is awesome - best Mexican food in Evansville!

Ate there tonight. Waitress was great, food was great, guy that brought us our food was great. Hostess--Most UNFRIENDLY EVER!! She asked how many, we said "two please". She walks away, throws our menus down on the table and just continues walking away. Never spoke to us, Never acknowledged us. She also takes your money. All of which she did without ever speaking a word to us! We handed her our check and credit card, she ran the card, handed us the receipt to sign, gave us the card back. Oh, and did I mention, she also never even made eye contact with us during this whole very silent time?? She was the same way last time we ate there although this time she was even worse. You know, the hostess is supposed to greet you and make you feel welcome. This girl belongs in the kitchen where she will not have to deal with customers. The whole time we were there we never saw her speak to any diners. She joked and laughed with the staff at the table by where they check you out but never really acknowledged any customers as far as we could tell. Too bad really because every one else we dealt with was great. She is the reason for the rating If you don't feel welcome, you may not go back!. read more
