Might as well get it out of the way that I've been squarely on Team El Maguey, largely because they were in town first. But Los Bravos may be beginning to win me over. Granted it was only carry out, but the food was great and selection is solid. Biggest complaint is that the person taking orders on the phone either didn't have a voice or was holding the phone backwards -- we couldn't hear anything she was saying. Not a slight to her by any means, but I kind of expect the person whose job it is to answer a phone to be able to communicate. Just saying she could have switched jobs with someone that day. On this last round, I got the chimichangas which were fine - but the real money is Chicken on the Beach. I helped my wife finish this and very quickly had my eyes opened to the fact that I ordered incorrectly. What really impressed me was that everything was correct, despite not being able to hear her confirm our order on the phone. Not a single mistake. Room for improvement - staff people where their strengths suit them and take names for everyone when you place a phone order so I don't have to repeat the whole thing and can just use my name. read more

We had the fajita chicken on the beach! Wow, it was delicious! Hubby is a truck driver and I have been riding with him this time-we had to get a load out of Boonville and I wanted Mexican. We both loved the salsa(which is what I crave the most and judge most of my Mexican restaurants by), I actually substituted shrimp for the chicken-I loved it! First time eating here, will not return. The cheese dip was delicious! Salsa was great too! I ordered El Rayo, looked amazing! But the first bite of chicken was ROTTEN! I gave it back to the gal that brought it. Told her it wasn't good, tasted spoiled. Told her to bring me what hubby was eating...chicken on the beach. She spoke to waiter in Spanish, he came back and asked if she gave me the wrong one, I said no, it's not good, it's spoiled! She brought the chicken on the beach and it was fine, but I didn't eat it all coz it was cooked in way too much black pepper I love Mexican food but was very disappointed!! Also daughters tacos were all cilantro! You'd think they would have discounted the price a little but nope! I think they thought I just didn't like what I ordered but that wasn't the case at all! There's definitely competition with El Maguey across the street. The theming is fun, menu is diverse, some days feature 99 cent any flavor margaritas. Food quality is alright, nothing to rave about! read more

Los Bravos is pretty AMAZING! When moving in this area I had someone recommended me to this restaurant and I gotta say, the food is great! The service is quick and the people are so kind. I was definitely not disappointed. There's plenty of food options on the menu and many drinks to choose from. Definitely a family friendly restaurant to enjoy quality with loved ones. read more

Food is ok. Service is biased. My grandson and I go in now and again...and when it is just us...NO ADULT MALE, we all but get ignored. One night, was going to complain to Manager until realized our server WAS the manager. Not a happy camper. read more

Yep, the Bravos family from Evansville brought the competition onto the El Maguey, really should be the "Los Lopezes" instead. Here with the regular fares of the Bravos and love their Quags made while you watch and also let you customize the ingredients to your specification, how cool! Can't go wrong here. read more

I went there for lunch the other day. The food was acceptable, not fabulous. The service however... I was alone, and maybe that was the problem. My server mostly ignored me. I had to practically grab him for a refill. Then, when he gave me the bill for $6.42, I left $10, and waited for my change. And waited. I finally gave up, which is my own fault, but I was in a hurry. Chili pablanos are very delicious. Service can be slow at times but I have never received bad/cold food.

The food was awesome and the service was fabulous. Our waitress was so pleasant and had amazing timing.

I was just passing thru and hungry when I came across this place and decided to stop. Ordered the chicken enchiladas verde and they were very good, full of nice meat, rice and salad was also decent. Would stop here again anytime I'm in the vicinity. read more

We were in Boonville for a basketball tournament the weekend of March 5-6. Last game ended around 730pm on Saturday. We didn't want fast food (pretty much all Boonville has) so we found Los Bravos in a Google search and decided to give it a try. The young (teenagers?) guy and gal at the hostess stand made little eye contact with us and were not overly friendly. They were also slow. The guy handed the girl our menus and silverware so she could seat us, and he thought it'd be funny to hand them to her one...at....a....time. (Took forever for our party of five). They weren't super busy for a Saturday night. We noticed several dirty tables that needed to be cleaned. In fact we were seated at a huge table for 9-10 people since they didn't have any other clean tables for our party. Our chips and drinks came right away. Chips were crispy and the salsa was quite tasty. We had to flag down the waiter and ask him to take our order after about 15-20 minutes. Food arrived promptly (within 10 minutes). We ordered one burrito, one fajitas, one chimichanga, and one small taco salad with cheese quesadilla combo. The kid in our party orders a quesadilla off the kids menu. Margaritas were the size of my head. Taco salad was doused in sour cream (had asked for it on the side). Other than that the food was just "ok." Not the best, not the worst. Just ok and rather bland. So why one star? The chips and margs were good. Restaurant was messy. Hostess/host were slow, immature and unfriendly. Service wasn't great. What killed any hope for this place is one adult woke up at 3:30am that night vomiting. The other was up at 4am with Montezuma's revenge, if you know what I mean. A third is on the pot right now. None of us had fevers or were otherwise sick. We believe it was the food. Beware. read more

Interesting that when we ordered guacamole a they made it in front of us to our preferences very clean apart from the noise when they begin dish washing you can hear the water pressure from the walls an from the fountain. read more

We visit this restaurant frequently with small and larger groups. The service is efficient. Some servers are friendlier than others, but none have been rude or inadequate. Plenty of warm chips and good salsa. They also have good beer specials. We've never had anything bad here. Food is always hot and fresh. They have a large menu with lots of options. They have a few vegetarian options as well. Fairly large seating area so never have had to wait very long the few times we weren't immediately seated. read more
