Amazing, the best Mexican Restaurant I've ever been to. When I first tried it, I didn't know what to expect. I ordered a plate of rice and beans, and 2 beef soft tacos. They came out with our food very quick and they were very friendly. When I tried the rice. It was phenomenal. And if you mix the rice with the beans, it makes it ten times better. I really liked it so I decided to go back 2 weeks later. I decided to switch it up and order chicken on the beach. It comes with rice, chicken, and cheese sauce poured over it. When I bit into it, I was astonished. It was the greatest thing to ever touch my taste buds and ever since that day, Jalisco has been my favorite restaurant and I frequently get this for lunch or dinner. Well this did not go well. We haven't been here for a couple of years, but wanted to give them another try...MISTAKE. First their liquor license is suspended so no margaritas. Ordered some guacamole for our chips, it came out seconds before our meal. Finally for our meal, refried beans were pretty good. Rice was very dry and not very good. The Baja Chicken had more onion than chicken. We won't be going back anytime soon. read more

I have always had great food at Jalisco. My favorite and a bargain are the chicken fajitas for $9 on the daily weekday menu. You can't go wrong, the tacos are good and I have had other meals that are outstanding. The service is always fast, three dining rooms so wait for seating. The place is spotless. read more

The service at Jalisco was terrible I DO NOT recommend going there. The guy that seated us was rude and I said the seat he led me to had water on the table. He said that the ceiling was leaking. I thought he was kidding. He wiped up the water and walked away. For a hot minute I was hyper fixating on the ceiling. Finally I relaxed and had a drink. Then the ceiling leaked on my arm. The last time I ate there had the worst food poisoning ever. Don't ever order anything with shrimp in it. Apparently it was old.

Don't eat here if you're expecting real Mexican food. This is by far nowhere close. I'm from California and even the bad Mexican restaurants in LA would be 5 stars compared to this place. I went for lunch with coworkers and was told this place was good. No it's not. I ordered the 1 taco 1 enchilada combo. Thinking, it's pretty hard to mess that up. Naw, they really messed it up. They use some kind of sauce that is not enchilada sauce. The beef has no flavor to it. But my biggest issue with this place is that they don't even use real cheese. It's fake cheese!! Don't believe it if they try to tell you different. Fake cheese tastes weird and melts differently. Also ordered a side of guacamole. It wasn't even real avocados. It's incredibly insulting that they are attempting to serve this "non-food" to people. Save yourself a trip and cook at home it travel to a larger city for decent Mexican food. I used to order vegetarian platters B and C with great guacamole from jalisco Mexican restaurant in Newburgh, Indiana. I really liked the food. Then around the end of 2019 I got what I thought was a $15 gift card and when I used the gift card I was told there was $50 on the card. I spent the $15 I was told was paid for, then did not go to the restaurant again because I think it is too confusing. read more

Decent local Mexican Restaurant. My husband loves the frozen margaritas. The tortilla soup is t some of the best I have ever had, fresh vegetables, potatoes, zucchini, avocado etc. The restaurant is always crowded. Not the best of locations, but not the worst either. We have been frequent customers of Jalisco since it opened in Newburgh. Saturday we had dinner there with a friend. My friend was having a quesadilla and as she was chewing, found a large piece of plastic in her mouth. We called the manager over and all he did was apologize, no free dinner or even a discount. When the waiter brought the bill, we explained to him the situation. He went to the manager and all my friend was given was 50% off of her meal. We have eaten there at least once a week since this restaurant opened. It's a shame they will lose such faithful customers over 1 meal! read more

We have ordered take out from Jalisco 18 or more times since our arrival to Newburgh, IN in 2008 (pay attention to that date). The food is very good, fresh and for the most part, the folks at the counter are very nice. However, today, I ordered "Fajitas for two", which is $15.00 on my take out menu, a side of guacamole and some extra tortillas. When I get to Jalisco, the guy at the counter says its going to be $28.80. So, I just happened to bring my take out menu and pulled it out to look at the price and show him $15.00. He responds to say that the new price of "Fajitas for two" is $20.50 and that my menu is from 2005 (this is why I asked to to pay attention to the date we arrived in Newburgh). So, I ask him for a more current take out menu so that I could have one going forward. Again, he said, there are none due to a renovation. I ask about online pricing, again, there is none. I am sorry to report that we will no longer be ordering from Jalisco. Our business may not mean very much to these folks. As I have said earlier, we have only dined with takeout around 18 times or so in seven years. Certainly not a deal breaker for them. However, where is the consumer protection? To me, all of this is just a shame. The food is really good and folks that prepare the food are really going a great job. Word of caution to all you, ask for the prices if your ordering over the phone. read more

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant of all time. Where do I begin? Everything I've ever ordered here is delicious. And their chips and salsa...my god, their chips and salsa. Try not to demolish more than one order of them. Just try. The only spotty thing is their service, which is generally really good. Disappointing. Servers were unresponsive and unfriendly. I asked if they could do shrimp tacos which weren't on the menu and the server simply said, "No." I had the shrimp with rice and zucchini. The shrimp were very overcooked. My companion had the shrimp fajitas, a generous portion but he deemed the shrimp overcooked and under seasoned. We arrived well before the lunch crowd so a busy kitchen was apparently not the reason for the poor service and food. read more

Was in there on a Wednesday night last week. First time. Ordered the Polo Chipotle and a pitcher of beer. Beer selection was not that great. Pitcher cost about $10. The food was alright but nothing amazing. Salsa for the chips was not that great, just bland. Asked for the hottest sauce the my had to try to spice it up but there was no heat to this sauce at all from what I could tell. read more

Jalisco has the best chicken tacos I've found anywhere in the area. I've tried tacos from many Mexican restaurants and these are by far the best. Having tried Jalisco a few years ago with disappointing results, we had no plans to return. However, we won a gift card at National Night Out, so we decided to give it another try. We were seated right away, but the choice of table was horrendous. They have way too many tables crammed together! My skinny 11 year old even had trouble squeezing in. There were other tables and booths available. We ordered at 7:09 and did not receive our food until 7:36. We didn't order anything fancy or complicated. While waiting for our food, we were treated to watching a server helping another server rip a bloody bandaid off her hand. They were standing in an alcove plainly visible to all customers. The food was good--nothing spectacular or much different than other Mexican restaurants in the area, but good. Our server was the one high point. She was polite and very attentive. However, it is highly doubtful we will ever return. The cramped seating and bloody band-aid were enough to drive us away for good. read more
