Barbie-Q chicken salad and potato soup
    Kyle E.

First time at Chicken Salad Chick and we will be back! While out of town, my daughter and I stumbled upon a Chicken Salad Chick and decided to give it a try. It's counter service, so you wait in a line queue and order at the counter. Then you're provided a number and your order is delivered when ready. As first timers it was a bit overwhelming. They have SO many chicken salad options, as well as, soups, salads, other types of non lettuce salads. The best part was I was able to try several different salads before I ordered. I tried the lemon basil and Barbie-q on advice from the staff. The lemon basil was okay but didn't taste a lot of bright lemon flavor. I ended up going with the Barbie-Q that had a nice savory flavor to it without being overpowering. I ordered the chicken salad with a side of potato soup and my daughter ordered the original chicken salad on a croissant melt with a side of Mac n cheese. Our total was $21. The food came out quickly and was very taste. My daughter loved her melt and was extremely pleased it came with a pickle and cookie! The chicken salad also came with crackers. It was a perfect lite lunch and I'd recommend.

Great concept & decent chicken salad, but the menu isn't easy to understand and I specifically asked questions to clarify what I was getting. The staff clearly hasn't been trained. I wound up with 3 scoops of chicken salad on a bed of nasty lettuce leaves that had black rotten holes all over them. When the young lady set it down in front of me, I asked her where the salad was that was pictured on the seasonal special menu, that I specifically asked her if I was getting a Caesar salad with a scoop of chicken salad when I ordered. Then I asked her if she would eat the black rotten lettuce leaves that my chicken salad scoops were served on. She pretty much was overwhelmed by my simple questions and had no answers. Disappointing waste of money. Poorly trained staff, that obviously can't operate without supervision.

I love chicken salad! There's so many varieties to choose from here. I bought a tub of Fancy Nancy to take to my Mom's. She loves chicken salad. I had a Buffalo Barclay sandwich to go. Love them both. The sandwich is pretty big, and they'll toast the bread if you want. The girl helping at the checkout was very friendly and would give me different samples of chicken salad to try. Love this place.

Chicken Salad BLT with the Sassy Scotty, a cup of fruit, and a side of Loaded back potato soup with a Watermelon Tea

First time visiting this place while out here on work. Wanting something more on the light, and healthy side. This place was a pleasant surprise. I expressed that it was my first time here, and the young lady who assisted me said "You are welcome to sample any of the chicken salads" the options were very interesting so I asked her what was her favorite. She suggested the "Sassy Scotty" it was very good so I selected that to be the Chicken Salad in the BLT sandwich. I got a side of the loaded potato soup, and a cup of fruit. When it came to my table it came with a cute little cookie and pickle slice. I tried there Watermelon Tea and it was a beautiful pair. I will certainly be back.

I've been wanting to try this place for a long long time but their hours never seemed to match up to when I was in town. Finally made it and I was not disappointed in my meal at all! I opted to go thru the drive thru. There was a decent line but seemed to move fairly quickly. They have a large menu before you get to the actual ordering window so you have a general idea of what you may want. I chose the Dixie Chick on a croissant and really wanted to try the broccoli salad but was told they had just served up the last portion of it so I'll just have to return another time to try that. I ended up getting the pasta salad instead. The sign on the drive thru ordering screen said they were working short and to use patience. It's a sad time that we live in currently where places have to put signs out reminding people to be kind (but that's a conversation not for Yelp) anyway my order was prepared quickly and was very delicious. A bit pricey in my opinion for what is probably considered "fast food" but delicious none the less. The Dixie Chick is the only chicken salad they have that has onions in it and you could certainly taste them. It was very flavorful. The pasta salad was just meh to me. The large pickle spear that came with the meal was very crisp and delicious. I'll certainly return as I'd like to try some of the other chicken salad flavors as well as that broccoli salad!

I've been waiting to try this since I've seen it in other cities. It was great! We went through the drive through and had a pleasant experience. I had a salad with a scoop, it came with crackers and a cookie! Great value for the serving size too

Our server had the best attitude and nicest southern bell accent even though she didn't think so. The food was all really quite good. My wife enjoyed her shrimp and grits. It was a hearty portion and she could not finish it. My son enjoyed the beef pot pie. It had a flaky crust, great flavor, and the beef was super tender. I am a Texan who has lived in the north for a VERY long time. I gave up on the idea of getting a good chicken fried steak in Indiana many years ago. Because of this restaurant, I had my first real chicken fried steak in a VERY long time. Now, I would be lying if I didn't think the batter was too salty. Things happen and getting something too salty is very easy thing to do. I also didn't care for it being served on top of the fries and red beans with rice. In Texas, there are usually two plates. One for the steak and one for the fixings. Would I try it again? You bet! I was just excited it was made from a real piece of round steak. We will be back. That is for sure.

I'm finally having a chance to review our visits to Freight House back in November!…read more My husband and I took a little trip to Paducah, and the main reason we chose this location for our vacation was Sara Bradley's restaurant Freight House. We both are fans of "Top Chef" and since her restaurant is within reasonable distance of home, we planned a trip around it. In fact, we made reservations for two nights in a row, to take in as much of the menu as possible! Between the two different days, we tried a number of appetizers, entrees and desserts. If I were to do this again the same way, I would do one day of apps and dessert and one day of entrees, just to spread things out a bit. What we ate: - Fall pickles: I enjoyed this, with the bit of chili heat, especially the cauliflower - Stuffed Mushrooms: I love mushrooms, and these blended creamy, sweet and hot with a filling of cream cheese, berry BBQ sauce and smoked jalapeno - Pistachio and herb chevre cheeseball: a fresh cheese enhanced by nutty and Herby notes - Smoked bologna: my husband's choice; very meaty and there was a lot of it - Spicy beer cheese spread: a very Midwestern feeling appetizer with tasty veggies and crackers Entrees: -Shrimp and grits: my choice: comforting southern food with lots of flavor - Duck fried rice: his choice: rich rice offset by more delicate vegetables - Sticky ribs: my choice: the pumpkin spice and coffee liqueur glaze worked well for a cozy, wintry meal - Braised pork shoulder: his choice; served with beans and cornbread, this was another hearty, comforting meal with a Southern twist. Desserts: - Winter creme brulee: this was my favorite, flavored with mulling spices, orange and pomegranate We also enjoyed a seasonal sorbet and the fall spice cake. We had the same server both nights, Elizabeth, who was good at making recommendations, and also staggering the small plates on our small table so we wouldn't be overloaded. Chef Sara was in house the second night, bringing dishes to tables. The setting is relaxed, not overly loud, with moody lighting. Overall, we would certainly return to Freight House!
