Used to be a great place with great food... the last several times I tried this Evansville location, the burgers tasted awful... not just awful, but "BAD". I mean as if the ground beef was old or spoiled. It has had this really foul & nasty super-strong tangy taste to it.. I couldn't eat it... both because the meat tasted rotten and also because I was afraid I'd get sick. Couldn't even fill up on fries since they started only filling the fry containers only about half full. When I go to other locations, the burgers taste just fine... How I find myself here is very random. My online search to find the taste diff btwn Codfish and Catfish lead me to some online thread where the discussion was about best tasting fish sandwiches. Well the general consensus there was that the fish sandwich at Culver's can't be beat by the other fast food places. Now I am from the East coast and I "ain't never heard of no Culver's" before. I am a big fan of fish sandwich, that I do know. Well I searched this establishment online and came to find that they exist in a city that I gave recently often traveled too. A certain joy filled my soul as I planned that on my very next trip to IN I will be having myself this fish sandwich. They have several locations in that city actually. I got myself there ASAP and I ordered the fish sandwich, sans cheese, and fries. Well folks it was a mighty fish sandwich if I don't say so myself. The bun was also super soft. Topping on the fish is some tartar sauce concoction. The fries... Muuahh. Not limp or soggy. They were yummy as well. I ordered via drive thru but from my limited view of the inside, it's also dine in. Their shakes and custard menu looked very tempting but I went conservative with my order. Now my fish and fries meal packs a punch to the waist line so sadly I won't be eating this too often but at least now I know where to get my sandwich from. We go to Culver's fairly often, my husband love's getting a free sundae after his meal. His favorite is the Wisconsin Swiss melt. I like the pot roast sandwich and the butter burger. They also have really good chicken fingers, and 2 are plenty they are Big. Most recently we took our grandson there for lunch. They have great choices for kids meals. Not just burgers or nuggets. He ordered the corn dog, applesauce & fries &chocolate milk. By the time we got our drinks and sat down, our food arrived. Our 4 yr old said, Wow grandpa you picked So Good, this is Super Fast. It came in a bag with a tear off coupon. He ate all his food, turned in his coupon & got his sundae. No junky toy, you come back 10 times & you pick out a gift. I found Culver's food and service above most fast food places. They did not have indoor dining so we had to use the drive thru. The drive thru was very efficient and fast. They have two lanes going at once. What I liked they have small units that contain a person who takes the order rather than a speaker. This personalized the service and helps with order accuracy. She did a full review of our order that also displays. This was nice because my family likes their burgers unique. After you order you pull forward to pay and they ask you move to one of the pick up spots. Once done they deliver the food that was hot and we were on our way. I've been trying Culver's off and on for years. First when I lived in WI and we didn't have many other options. Yea, they had custard, but not like I grew up with in NY. We moved a few times and settled in TN. Finally Culver's arrived and we tried it a few times. My wife liked the pot roast sandwich and curds, but I couldn't find a shake I liked. I tried a Concrete Mixer today and it was awful. Picture on menu shows gobs of custard overflowing, what I got in the large was 1/2" below the lid and melted. read more

It is Good Friday and Culvers was very, very busy. But the ordering process by the drive-through was organized and the order was done promptly even with this high volume. We ordered 2 Cod Fish dinners and the French Fries and Cole slaw were sides. The fish was amazingly fresh and cooked just right. Didn't care for the fries and I am partial to sweet and sour slaw, and this was Mayo-based. Next time I will ask what kind of slaw, my fault. Great customer service. Ordered two concrete mixers to go. Still standing in the waiting area, it has been 23 minutes so far, and we still don't have our order. Lots of employees, and several of them know that we are waiting...but somehow our order kept not coming up? A kid finally comes over and says, "so sorry. It's because the cashier didn't hand you a number." Anyhow...24 minutes to get two ice creams to go...and at least 12 minutes was after we made them aware that we hadn't gotten our ice creams yet. The wait is ridiculous, in the drive thru. The Cod fillet is really small, and they charge way too much for it. You should get two pieces since they are so small, and the cost so big! Last week when I was in the drive thru at the window, they took my bag of food outside and to the lane where people have to wait forever, then walked back inside and came to the drive thru window and handed it to me. Didn't go to this one but the one on the west side. For two people getting a burger and a shake it was 20 dollars. Overall the food was mediocre. Definitely not worth 20 dollars. I went in a few days ago, and I found a long black hair in my Culver's deluxe snack pack. They gave me a new one, and there was another hair in it. I told them I was I was allergic to gluten, and they ended up giving me a normal bun instead of a gluten free bun. The bathrooms were disgusting and both were clogged and one had poop on the floor. Culver's used to be one of my very favorite places for that type of burger. But the last few times I've been there I've been disappointed. I love, love, love their sweet potato fries and they were good. But the buns have been stale and the cheese unmelted.
