Finally tried this place after seeing it so busy all the time. While busy, we were seated immediately and didn't wait long for our server. She did a great job tending to us, as well. We came to Metro Diner early afternoon on Father's Day. It was quite busy but we got seated immediately. The restaurant was a cute, retro style. The noise level was fairly loud. Our server, Trinity, was amazing! She kept our drinks full the entire visit. We ordered a double metro melt with fries, Bissell breakfast with Canadian bacon, and the grilled chicken Caesar salad. We were all happy with our food. The wait for food wasn't long at all and everything was fresh and tasty. Very friendly and attentive wait staff. I ordered the French toast croissant meal with scrambled eggs, bacon grits, a biscuit and I can't remember what else I ordered. There was so many things as part of this platter. I'll post pictures. We live in Athens GA and frequent the Metro Diner there. My sister suggested this place for lunch. After being seated quickly we ordered and received our drinks. My wife and I split the Metro club and fries. This plate was enough for both of us to share. Four large quarters of sandwich, each about four inches thick. Sandwich contained a lot of meat, tomatoes, bacon and cheese. The fries were nice and crispy. My sister ordered a breakfast flatbread with hash browns, chopped bacon, cheese, and scramble eggs. Very unique breakfast entree. Great service throughout the meal by our waiter. Good consistent food and service. read more

We've been here twice now. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. We were impressed both times. My cheese grits at breakfast were perfect. I had the chicken and waffles for lunch and substituted chicken tenders for the half chicken I think the chicken tenders were some of the best I've ever had. And the strawberry butter with the waffles was superb. We had good service both times and while it has been crowded, we haven't had to wait long. We will make this a regular spot! read more

My first visit here with a group of friends was excellent! Our waitress was on top of her game. She kept our drinks filled and was very friendly and polite. I had the Shepherds Pie. It was served hot and was absolutely delicious! The menu was large and there are other dishes I will try in the future when I return. The restaurant was clean and well staffed and all the servers were attentive to anyone who needed something. This restaurant was full of customers, so the word is out. Four of us had lunch at Metro Diner on a Friday afternoon. This was the first time any of us had been here.... Def won't be the last!!! Every employee we encountered was upbeat, and seemed happy to help. That in itself was quite refreshing!!! The atmosphere was quite loud, as the dining room was full. It is a bit difficult to have conversation. We noticed families, business suit people, couples and friend groups. The menu has a HUGE selection, noted burgers, salads, chicken etc, but we all opted for breakfast. Who doesn't love breakfast for lunch? All 4 of us rated our meals 9 out of ten!!!! We had a wonderful waitress that helped us with ordering. I was trying to find gluten free items when she excitedly told me they had a gluten free menu! I ended up getting a triple decker BLT and fries. Soooo delicious! And my husband said his burger was cooked to perfection. Also found out there is a Metro Diner location in St Augustine, Florida where we will be spending time at in January. We will definitely be visiting them! We had breakfast here yesterday (Friday). This restaurant has only been open a couple weeks. When we walked in, my first impression was how nice and bright it was. The tables aren't all packed in, and everyone seemed happy to be there. We were greeted quickly and showed to our booth. While our server was getting our drinks the owner came by our table to welcome us. We placed our orders and they were brought out in a reasonable time. One of my friends likes honey with her coffee. There are few restaurants who could give her that, but they did without hesitation. I ordered the two eggs with hashbrowns (extra crispy) and Canadian bacon (which I don't usually see on a menu) and I substituted one pancake for the bread selection. The eggs were scrambled perfect! The hashbrowns were crispy, and I really liked the Canadian bacon, which I've not eaten in years. The pancake was also good. Another friend commented that she liked the feel and weight of the mugs. Coffee was also good and the owner had mentioned they fresh grind it. All four of us were happy with our meals. The service was pretty much over the top. We'll be going back again for sure. My husband and I went on a Saturday morning and had about a 20 minute wait which wasn't bad considering they were packed. The facilities were new and clean. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. I got the fried chicken eggs Benedict with home fries with cheese, onions and peppers. Chicken tenders were tender and had a light breading, biscuits were soft and fluffy and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband got the black and blue burger with seasoned fries. They used 100% angus beef which gave it a really good flavor. Husband said it was wonderful. This place is way better than the former place that housed Biscuit Belly whom thought they knew what breakfast was about. Today we grabbed breakfast here, spoke to Chris who's the manager here who was so friendly made his rounds to check on the diners. That is always a great touch and I know I appreciate the hospitality and the "good morning". I had lunch at the brand new Metro Diner today for their soft opening/stress test. Everything was fantastic. It was a friends and family event offering a free meal, so they were very busy. Everything ran like a well-oiled machine and we didn't have a single problem! Our server, Cadence was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and checked in on us regularly. Several managers also came by to check on us. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Amazingly, Chris Wyatt, the managing partner, said they've only had a week to train. You'd never know it from the way it ran today. I had the shrimp and grits. It was perfection! The grits were just a little looser than I prefer them, but that's just a matter of personal preference. The shrimp was cooked perfectly - juicy and tender and well-seasoned. The dish as a whole was a delicious bowl of comfort - very flavorful, just the right temperature, and a generous portion. My friend had the steak tips (sorry I didn't get a photo). I tried a bite, and they were also really good. Metro Diner officially opens on Monday Oct. 27. You should go! read more

Came here excited for something new. Party of 4. One of our party ordered the chicken Benedict that arrived wrong due to the wrong entree being ordered. Server was great but we all finished eating and the chicken Benedict was still not at the table. There was only 3-4 servers working the floor. After 30 minutes, we asked for the manager. Management was very apologetic and tired to make things right, but we were frustrated at that point.
