I come here at least once a week for my morning coffee. This location is located at the lobby of DM centre for brain health at UBC, right beside the hospital. They are also inside VGH and at Granville Island Public Market (called petite ami). Cafe Ami at UBC is beautiful - it has a very high ceiling ,and it is encompassed by exquisite glass walls. It has excellent natural lighting, and comfortable sitting area - which makes it perfect for studying or simply enjoying a cup of coffee. The staff there are (mostly) friendly. They are very efficient, I never have to wait for a long time for my order during the morning rush. They have a great variety of pastries and lunch items (hot soup and sandwiches). I prefer coming to Cafe Ami than the cafeteria at the hospital. However, they are only opened Monday to Friday from 7:30-5:30...so just keep that in mind.

Great cup of chai with fresh ambience! Awesome new place on campus to hold meetings!

It's a fresh new place on campus to get your daily dose of coffee, or hold a meeting! It's located inside the brand new center for brain health (really cool building!) near the UBC Hospital Bus Stop. Be sure to check it out. I tried the chai latte! It was fresh and nice. :) lots of nice looking food options too. Will be back again for sure.

Open, airy, clean space for coffee, food, reading, meeting..

I went on a Saturday night and there was a lot of space inside. Our drinks came out quick and tasted good. Price was also very good, especially for the size of drink that you get! I recommend this restaurant for sure!

Came here with my friend while hanging around UBC. There were 2 bbt places including Coco and Pearl…read moreFever on Yelp and we had some struggles finding Pearl Fever near food court and Subway area. The location was quite difficult to find unless you live around the dorm or studying at UBC. It was at the rear area next to Subway and the direction was quite confusing for us. Anyways, the drinks weren't too exciting to begin with. It was a very slow day when we walked in. Menu was pretty basic. No brown sugar milk tea or fancy stuff like roasted milk tea or Thai milk tea, it's just the cheap powdered stuff mostly. We had UFO with pearls (Icecream coffee float $5.95) and Taro Slush with pearls ($6.10 and 60 cents for pearls) they were okay. My drink was okay, but the pearls didn't taste good. My friend didn't like her Taro Slush it tasted too chalky. She didn't like it. Price was too expensive for drinks. Pearls were extra charge. Service was average. The store was pretty slow and the staff wasn't friendly enough. My pal needed to use washroom, but the area was blocked so people don't use it.

Matcha Strawberry Latte $8.25…read more This drink is super pretty! The drink has fresh puree strawberry, organic milk and whisked matcha! The drink is not too sweet, perfect for anyone who loves matcha and also strawberries! Make sure you mix it well as the sweetness is from the strawberry puree. The pearls were really soft and chewy, which was good! Just a note.. make sure the lid is closed properly as I spilled some in my car

The aesthetic of this cafe is contemporary and very visually clean and cute. I don't know if I can compare their bubble tea to any other bubble tea shop in the city because they use such fresh ingredients mixed with high-quality tea and the end result is absolutely delicious. In just the past week I've had the chance to drink three drinks including today's not too sweet, more subtle chrysanthemum sunrise which has grapefruit chunks. Their Garden Milk Tea was super tasty with rose syrup was gulped up last week but our ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE is the Passion Fruit Vanilla Float. This drink has the perfect mix of that passion fruit punch, with the bubbles of soda from the sparkling water, sweet chunks of aloe vera, and that creamy touch of the vanilla cream. You also get the passion fruit seeds mixed in with pearls (if you order their amazing pearls) and it's seriously the BEST drink. You won't be disappointed. I've had the chance in months pass to try the matcha strawberry with strawberry chunks and it was amazingly delicious too so my top two recommendations are the Matcha Strawberry or the Passion Fruit Vanilla Float! I still need to come by for breakfast but the waffles and macarons I've had here have been delightful.
