Vaca Frita
Deanne M.

We came here for a quick lunch as it was conveniently located inside the plaza we were in. It's a casual spot with some many people getting takeout as well as dining in. I ordered the vaca frita and my partner got the tripleta sandwich. The portions were generous and the food was very good. We also both got fruit juices to drink and next time I'm in Orlando I would come back just for the guava juice!

Cafe con leche

Yummy pit stop. Cafe con leche is really good. Friendly service and lots of options. The masked plantain didn't have much flavor. I was hoping for a bit of mofongo touch! But the rest was good for a quick breakfast! Lunch looked amazing as we saw them Bringing all the food out for the buffet like option. Looks like you walk by and they have it ready and you choose what you want! Would definitely do that next time. The gps took us to a gas station and we had to go farther down the street in the target parking lot. Across the street from 7-11. We were bummed there was no crema for the platanos frito but we no the Cubans don't usually have it but they should!! LOL

What a pleasant surprise! We popped in here while shopping in the area nearby. It is a modest place with a few indoor seats and an easy to review menu. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I ordered the chicken and rice, which was very tasty! There was more than enough to take leftovers home and they were just as delicious the second time around. They served everything in re-usable, take-home containers, which was super handy and was a nice touch to know that it was all new and safe with COVID. Overall: A+ A wonderful surprise that we will absolutely be adding in to our regular rotation of food adventures. :)

Fries thrown inside the sandwich. Was not requested that way at all.

Food is good but dang the attitude that all the women have there is terrible. I did a phone order for two sandwiches and two drinks. Lady said 5-10 min. Ended up waiting 30 minutes. First, didn't let my bf know that they received orders but that they were backed up. Two, gave dirty looks, dances and laughing at him? Opened my sandwich tray and had thrown the fries INSIDE the sandwich. Definitely done on purpose. All they had to do is let him know the status and apologize for the delay. The attitude at my bf wasn't necessary.

Beef empanadas (2). Freshly fried and seasoned--delish.

Desperate to find traditional beef empanadas, I went to Pinar expecting not a lot. I felt I had driven all over the "Disney area," searching for a SIMPLE carne empanada with no questionable "filling." All I was looking for was a morning snack . They hit my mark. The empanadas were freshly dropped when I ordered and steaming hot when they came to me. I was looking for the simple perks of Cuban food and finally found quality! My only "ugh" was there was no Verde sauce, but the juego de mango graciously made up for it. I want to stop by to try their entrees. The ropa viejo, per someone's order, looked GOOD.

Lunch special - chicken with salad and plantains

I was shopping at FLorida Mall and wanted to grab lunch and saw this place nearby. This is definitely one of my favorite place in Orlando so far. Service was amazing. The staff was very nice and considerate. While I was ordering my food, the person kept asking me if i want this or that and if i rather have this or that and even let me choose which pieces of protein i wanted! I ordered the daily lunch special which came with a quarter leg of chicken, either potatoes or sweet plantains, and rice with beans. I got the sweet plantains and asked if i can get a salad instead of the rice. All of it was for $6 with high quality food!!! And the portion was very generous. The chicken along was pretty decent in size. and it was so tender (falling off the bone). As I was eating, I kept looking at the menu to see what I can order next when I come back...I think I want to try their breakfast or their sandwiches lol Definitely a hole in the wall as it's located in a small strip mall. I probably wouldn't even notice it if it wasn't for yelp.

Didn't get a pic of the food because I was starving! However establishment was clean and they were friendly when we walked in. I was super bummed they didn't have ANY empanadas! I ordered the passion fruit drink and the beef with potatoes, yellow rice and black beans and plantains. The plantains were a little dry or maybe over cooked.

Amazing! I stopped in on the way to the Crayola Experience during a recent family vacation. I was worried the kids wouldn't find anything they like but I was wrong. This was enjoyed by all! Our party ranged in age from 2 years old to 80 years old. In the event your kids are not adventurous, they do have a kids menu with the traditional options of grilled cheese and chicken fingers. Excellent service. Clean. Many food options to choose from. Authentic Cuban. The buffet style service is a terrific idea. You get to see each option before making your selection.

Ropa vieja with black beans, yellow rice, and fried sweet plantains

We went here for the first time a couple weeks ago, and wow, did this place exceed my expectations! We were doing some shopping nearby and looking for lunch ideas. We love Cuban food, but had never tried Cafe Pinar, so decided to give it a chance. From the outside, it's not much to look at. Once inside, it's a smallish place, and they encouraged us to grab a paper menu (we were there during COVID) and take a seat anywhere. They have the typical offerings you'd expect from a Cuban restaurant in Florida: empanadas, croquettas, medianoche and other Cuban sandwiches, and a variety of beef, chicken and pork dishes. I ordered the Ropa Vieja lunch special with black beans and rice - one of my go-to Cuban dishes. If you haven't had ropa before, it's shredded beef cooked with garlic, onions, bell peppers, wine, and tomato sauce. Delicious! The food was sooooo good! The portions were huge, and the prices were dirt cheap. This may have been pandemic pricing, but we got two lunch specials (my Ropa Vieja and Stacy's Arroz con Pollo a la Cubana) and an order of ham croquettas for ~$20 ... including tax! Overall, this was a great food experience, and I can't wait to go back and try more things on the menu!

Medianoche Sandwich. They use the correct bread, the pork is juicy, and the proportions are all correct. Great value!

This place has some of the best Cuban food around; you can tell because the owner is from Cuba and the food is made with love. I've tried a variety of dishes here (from the pork, to the picadillo, to my personal favorite--the medianoche, or midnight, sandwich). The latter dish is simple, but surprisingly easy to screw up. For one, they use the correct bread (a special, sweet-potato-like), as opposed to traditional Cuban or white bread. The pork is always juicy, not dry, and the proportion of meat to cheese to condiments is correct. The sandwich is also pressed properly such that it is crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. And at $6.49, it is a steal. I will always return for good, authentic Cuban food when in the area.

We don't live in the area but anytime we come down to Orlando this is a must stop! Authentic Cuban food! They just don't have this where we are from!

Service is excellent.. The staff and people working in their restaurant are amazing Turull's menu features a smattering of larger plates but is anchored in tapas, including the ubiquitous barometer bite tortilla de patatas ($12). Our forecast? Dry and spongy. To resuscitate, pieces of the potato omelet were bathed in the garlicky oil of a neighboring cazuela of gambas al ajillo ($17) -- a cazuela of goodness brimming with sweet, springy shrimp. Another barometer bite, pan con tomate ($8), fared better. Tomato bread is simple in concept, less simple to execute. Bread is the non-negotiable, and the bread at Turull's was sufficiently reminiscent of traditional "glass bread" to impress, crisp-crusted and open-crumbed -- a perfect raft for fresh tomato, olive oil and salt. We could have eaten several plates. Good evening everyone! So we all felt like trying out something Spanish tonight in the Orlando, FL…read morearea and my brother recommended Turull's Kitchen & Bar so we all decided to check them out and boy are we glad we did. I can honestly say that this restaurant is 100% legit as far as Spanish restaurants go. On this occasion we ordered a number of Tapas to share at the table. We ordered the cured Manchego cheese and Spanish ham board, Pulpo A La Vinagreta (Octopus in Vinegar), Serrano Ham and Codfish croquettes (absolutely delicious), Spanish Omelete and Al of us decide to try the Spanish Bean Soup (Fabada Asturiana). Everything we ordered was fresh, hearty and tasted exactly as expected. No cutting corners at Turull's folks and I am pretty sure that everything else on the menu would be just as good. If you decide to try one of their paella rice dishes, you hey looked great as well but plan on 45 minutes or so before it gets to the table as it is made fresh to order, no exceptions. Honestly, that is the only way to do it.... Who wants reheated paella as that would be heresy! LOL! For dessert we ordered the Flan and the Torta de San Martin, where the torta is a traditional Spanish pastry served with Almond ice cream, and both were very good. Finishing things off with some espresso and boy life was really good at this point. The atmosphere was very welcoming as Fridays and Saturday's they have live music which was in full force during our dinner. As you can imagine, we did take advantage and "cut a little rug" before we left as well! LOL! All in all it was a great outing and nothing better than good food, good wine and family as the setup for a wonderful evening. Service was excellent as well and no worries about parking either as there is plenty available. So if you find yourselves with a hankering for some good Spanish cuisine while in the Orlando, FL area, you should definitely check them out. We will be back again next time we are in the area for sure. Enjoy and bon appétit mes amis!

When I arrived, I was impressed with how inviting and informative the exterior of the building looked, and the interior decor was even better. The playlist was full of positive and uplifting songs. The walls affirmed you with positive messaging and the seating was warm and welcoming. The service was equally exceptional. Sergio was very helpful and knowledgeable, offering facts about Matcha and his personal recommendations. Finally, the product! What I liked most about the experience was being able to have a classic cup of Matcha that was organic and ceremonial grade. Not to mention that, it was served in a classic paper cup that was not lined with plastic; which is very hard to find most coffee shops.
