Breakfast Sandwich
Julisa H.

I liked cafe coco.. the front where you order has the drink and pastry station. It's a narrow path way and can get crowded when a line forms. The service is pleasant and helpful. The owner walked around with samples of his new menu item which was a lemon cake. It was moist with a perfect balance of sweetness, very tasty. The breakfast sandwich was substantial and had a good taste to it. The strawberry matcha was good, the strawberry puree was the only sugar content in it so it wasn't overly sweet. No complaints, I liked cafe coco and would come back.

Plain croissant

New cafe and bakery in LIC! They have a full kitchen and food menu, plus bread and pastries from La Bicyclette. So far, I've tried the raspberry danish and plain croissant (both perfect), plus the olive bread and sportif bread. The olive bread is so good!! Employees are really friendly, too. Super welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Worst matcha I ever tried. The Matcha Heaven was genuinely inedible. The "vanilla" foam did not remotely taste like vanilla, but tasted weirdly bitter and watery? The color tells you everything you need to know. The food was not good as well. Brioche bun was dry and stale, the salad came drenched in olive oil. The only saving grace was the muffin we got. If you want a breakfast/brunch spot, go to beanstalk around the corner - much better quality and at a better price too!

latte and almond croissant

My partner ate here for a weekend brunch. I was surprised by how much space there was in the back! There's a nice dining room and an outdoor dining area as well in the back of the cafe/bakery. The staff told me they get some of their pastries from La Bicyclette, a Brooklyn bakery. My partner and I also ordered brunch food from the menu, which were very hearty plates that filled us up! We loved the breakfast sandwich, especially how the bread isn't completely sliced. It made the sandwich filling (eggs, avocado, bacon, cheese) more secure within the bread. I ordered the eggs benedict which served on a croissant. The eggs, cooked different ways for each of us, were all cooked perfectly! Will definitely be back!

Hibiscus Matcha Latte

The breakfast sandwiches are well-made and super filling. Tasty drinks as well- especially the Hibiscus Matcha Latte. Overall, it's a bright and cozy space that I can definitely picture myself spending time in.

Avocado tartine

What a gem in LIC. Excellent food. Very welcoming vibe. Great art. The avocado tartine was amazing. The sourdough bread so good and the avocado perfect, as you can see. A person in the party had the French breakfast croissan and lived it. Coffee was excellent. I wish they were in my neighborhood!

I've had my eye on this place for years - should have come here sooner…read more Black sesame basque cheesecake: my favorite of the 4 I tried. This is actually cheesecake rather than the lighter Japanese version, with a strong black sesame flavor. Hojicha creme brulee: this came as part of a promotion, and the taste is strong. They do brulee the top on the spot and my sugar top got a little too burnt. Oolong tea cheesecake: still good, would get this again still. Lighter flavor but the floral flavor does come out at the end of a bite. Coconut milk jelly: the lightest of the flavor but still sweet and flavorful enough to come through. There's a dusting of graham crackers and strawberry jelly to complement. We also got a hot matcha jasmine latte but it was actually cold. It seems like it normally comes iced and perhaps they have no way of warming up the jasmine part. There's a points program and tons of promotions that rotate. There have also been different desserts that rotate so I'll have to keep coming back to try more. They have a lunch special too where you can get a drink or dessert for less cost.

4/5 mango smoothie $7.50- sweet, tastes like mango lassi…read more 3/5 spicy shrimp onigiri $3.50- needs more shrimp, esp towards the top & middle 5/5 Hojicha crème brûlée $5.50- can't taste the Hojicha but was told cuz it's naturally very light, besides the caremelized top, the cream wasn't too sweet, excellent otherwise, best crème brûlée I've ever had Didn't try their oolong tea cheesecake cuz I know the oolong flavor is very light which apparently is naturally so but would like to try some day
