I scream, you scream; we all scream for ice cream. Mother son dessert date after dinner. The staff were friendly and encouraging. I sampled the pecan before I ordered a double scoop of pecan and chocolate. Great seating, bright lights welcome one to sit for a bit.

BEST ICE CREAM. EVER. Seriously the most fresh and creamy ice cream you'll ever have. There are so many flavors to choose from. Despite this, me and my boyfriend and friends all end up getting our favorites every time. The staff is always welcoming and helpful. You can try flavors too. Inside is warm (in the winter) so you can enjoy even in the cold months. Super cutely decorated.

The ice cream is rich and creamy, and they have a lot of interesting flavors. Good amount of seating too. Would come back! Recommend: The Munchies, Butter Pecan Crumble

Soooo goooood !!!! I love when ice cream spots have playful flavors :). Their Ice cream always tastes fresh and is the perfect amount! Glad it's not too close to me or id be in weekly ! The servers are also very nice and are always happy which is nice. It's a decent size too and offers seating inside and outside.

I want to go back and try more ice cream flavors! This ice cream spot had such a cute concept and shop aesthetic. My favorite thing was ordering a flight, which was just a fancy way of saying, "let me put little tiny ice cream scoops and a cute egg carton". I recognize that that sounds like I'm being sarcastic, but I think it's the best freaking idea and I'm mad I didn't think of it. If you buy a flight and share it with a friend, firstly, it's a cheaper experience, secondly, you get to try out so many flavors, and thirdly why wouldn't you do this option? They had some unique looking flavors and being able to try multiple was a fantastic and filling experience. All in all, 10 out of 10, will be coming back, I might even go tomorrow.

I'm a long time Ample Hills fans so I was excited to finally have some of their amazing ice cream again during my visit to NYC. The flavors have changed slightly since my last visit in 2019, but the ice cream is just as delicious as I remember. I couldn't decide which flavor to have since there's so many good ones to choose from so I decided to go for their ice cream flight. The ice cream flight is 6 mini scoops, each scoop being about the size of a golf ball for $10. My ice cream flight included peppermint Pattie, chocolate milk & cookies, cookie au lait, oatmeal lace, ooey gooey, and buzzin in Brooklyn. I loved both of the coffee based ice creams because I'm a coffee ice cream lover. The buzzin in Brooklyn had more mix ins and I loved the crunchy espresso toffee pieces in it. Ooey gooey is always a solid choice for a sweet vanilla ice cream with the ooey gooey butter cake pieces mixed in. Ample hills has fun, unique ice cream flavors. I've always loved that they fill the ice cream with tons of mix ins creating a unique flavor with some texture. If you haven't tried Ample Hills, it's a must!

Food: ice cream was yummy and creamy, not too sweet Service: employees were nice, gave us samples and served us accordingly. Ambiance: cute decor, nothing to complain about.

Ice cream was delicious, service was fast and courteous, vegan ice cream was so good, I give it 4 stars because I felt it was a bit pricey, $25 for 3 ice creams of 1 scoop each. The shop was welcoming and clean overall good experience. Would I go back? Only if I am very near by.

Ice Cream. GOOD. In the mood for some Coffee Ice Cream which included Cinnamon Bun and Toffee flavorings. The BUZZIN' IN BROOKLYN Ice Cream tasted just fine. RECOMMEND.

I can't say I've been to this amazing establishment before it temporarily shut down, but what I can say is my first time was tells me why Ample Hills was so missed. The staff was incredibly friendly, guiding me through the many different options (which were all tempting, unlike other ice cream parlors). I opted for a Strawbooey Gooey root beer float, which turned out so much better than I could imagine. Would highly recommend this place, either for the root beer float or their six-pack served in a plastic shipping thing.

You can never go wrong with eating ice cream, especially from Ample Hills. Originated in Brooklyn; it's awesome that the creamery expanded to a queens location. There are decent amounts of seatings inside. The service was fast. They let you sample a few flavors before making your final pick. I chose cookie au lait and mango. Cookie au lait tasted very rich with a bold coffee flavoring. Mango was sweet and yummy. Give this place a visit whenever you're eating around Astoria.

Absolutely incredible flavors--s'mores ice cream is so hard to get right, and they nail it. The variety of flavors is something you only really see either in Maine, Cape Cod, or the ADK, so having so many impossibly good flavors in just one store is such a treat in NYC. The service is always so sweet, and although the space is small, there are seats both inside and outside. LOVE this place!

I liked their personalzed story. This wasn't a chain or franchise nor was it osned by a corporate conglomerate but a " Mom & Pop" shop. When I walked by, it was early in the morning and they weren't open but I planned to return. Yesterday, although it was an unusually cold and rainy afternoon in April and I was thinking, I would have preferred buying a hot cup of coffee, I hallened upon Lilo's and decided tonwalk inside. I was immediately impressed by their incredible selection of ice creams that are written in colorful chalk on the walls of their store! To my amazement, they buy homemade ice creams from all over the country and have, if possible the mighedt selection imaginable. They slso sell soft serve yogurt as well as ice cream and have a very impressive selection of " add ons" ( sprinkles, etc) . I was slso surprised by their selection of different cone options including gluten free and pretzel ! Since I was in the mood for coffee, Sonam, offered me two options, and J chose coffee with cookies. It was DELICIOUS! Having read some of the other reviews, especially some of the negative ones regarding their prices, I did not think that the cost was out of line since you canesdy spend over 10 dollars in domebof these high end ice cream shops. Of course, you could go to Mc Donald's and buy a cone for a dollar but you might not be eating anything that has milk or cream. ! I loved Lilo Creamery and while it's many blocks from where I live, I'll definitely be returning soon!

The spots closest to us were closed, so we decided to make it a whole thing--me, my mom, my son, and of course the dog. Full family ice cream scavenger hunt. We ended up at Van Leeuwen, and the moment we saw the shop, we were so excited. I remember when there wasn't a storefront--when it was just the truck roaming around Brooklyn. My mom and I used to go all the way from Jersey to Brooklyn just for that ice cream. The very first time we tried it, we had just finished dinner at Sweet Chick's, saw the truck, and said, "Let's get a sweet treat." I remember getting a ginger ice cream back then, and it was so good it stuck with me. So seeing the shop now just felt full circle. We sat inside and ate our ice cream, which made it even better. I loved the bright decor--it's clean, cheerful, and just makes you want to sit and enjoy your scoop instead of rushing out. It felt welcoming and fun, especially with the whole family there. I got the vegan mango sticky rice, which was absolute perfection. So delicious. I also did the strawberry matcha, and that combination was everything. The flavors at Van Leeuwen are just so good--you really can't go wrong. I also love that you can sample, because sometimes you need to taste first before committing, and both of my choices were a win. My mom did an espresso flavor paired with peanut butter, which she loved. And of course, my son kept it classic with vanilla and sprinkles--because kids are going to kid. Their vanilla bean is really good too--simple but done right. I love that you can buy pints inside or even create your own pint if you don't want just one flavor. And then there's Winter Wednesdays--buy two pints, get one free. Like... what are we even talking about? Go get the ice cream. Plus kids eat free on Wednesdays. We're New Yorkers--we eat ice cream in the winter. This just makes sense. Niya helped us, and she was so sweet and helpful. Great energy. I got my ice cream in a waffle bowl, my mom did too, and my son got a regular cup. The waffle bowl was crispy, fresh, buttery--everything you want. I also love seeing the growth--from a truck to storefronts to being in supermarkets now. It's nostalgic for me, and the best part is the quality has stayed consistent. The ice cream is always on point. Go in, sit down, enjoy the vibe, treat yourself, bring your kids, your family--get a scoop, get a waffle bowl, take advantage of Winter Wednesdays. You really can't go wrong.

After the hype faded out in the 2010s, I thought I'd never see another Pinkberry again. Imagine my surprise when I saw this place across the street from where I was dining with a couple of friends. It was inevitable that I'd make a beeline for it right after my dinner. As usual, I got the original tart with my favorite mix-ins: a scoop of melted chocolate crunch, cheesecake bites, mochi, strawberry, kiwi, and blueberries. The froyo wasn't as creamy as what I was used to, but it was still really good and satisfying to my craving. Similar to most Pinkberries, the shop itself was a bit small in space, so it's more fitting for a quick visit. I ordered the dairy-free coconut, which is the only vegan flavor they offer. It tasted pretty good and had a nice creamy texture. I do find it to be expensive and I don't like how they serve it for you. You have the option to get with or without toppings for a standard price, but you're only limited to 4 toppings, and any additional topping is an upcharge. They put the toppings for you with a tiny scoop, so the price difference didn't seem worthwhile in my opinion. There was a line and multiple DoorDash orders going out, so the service was a bit slow, but not a crazy wait time. The shop was pretty small, but has the same frozen yogurt look as other places, with limited seating. Given that there is another frozen yogurt shop legit 2 stores away, I just wanted to provide a comparison. 16 Handles has more vegan options, but tastes more like soft serve ice cream compared to yogurt. It's cheaper, you can control the toppings to ice cream ratio, but it seems like there are usually kids/students around. Pinkberry only has 1 vegan option, tastes more like yogurt, but they're sparse with the toppings and it's more expensive. However, there wasn't any many kids, I assume due to the counter service rather than serving yourself the yogurt. They both provided similar experiences in terms of customer service. Both frozen yogurt shops, though entirely different experiences. I would return here if I wanted more of a yogurt flavor, but wouldn't bother with the toppings. This place, like 16 Handles, is not Ike neighboring upscale ice cream shops in UES. It's cozy, a 2010 yogurt shop vibe, and is solid for casual ice cream. I would return!
