    Prime rib
    Edward B.

I ordered the prime rib steak take out and this looks like someone boiled it, not to mention the fat to meat ratio was horrible. The fried shrimp and mashed potatoes I got as a side were good though. The shrimp scampi the someone in my party got was delicious along with the Buckaroo Burger. Maybe steaks just aren't the cooks specialty. The waitress, Ashley, who took our order and gave us the food was fantastic.

This is the handicap parking at CaddyShack. My 78 Year old brother almost killed himself falling over this damaged parking stop!

After scraping my brother off the pavement we went in. Got menus, ordered drinks. AFTER the drinks are served, the DAILY drink specials were inside one of the menus. Very disappointed to have ordered and later find out that we weren't even offered the special. After an average dinner, we left to have drinks at a place that appreciates the business. Very disappointed. We won't be back.

Cajun Fettuccine with blackened chicken & mushrooms = Wow!

The classic 80s comedy had a rampaging dancing gopher terrorizing Bill Murray's golf course. As I blew in here at happy hour on a Thursday, I looked around for the gopher but instead spotted two gorgeous bartenders which were way better! ATMOSPHERE- In addition to the eye candy, the bar was weirdly the widest I have ever seen. This crazy thing is over four feet wide. Eye Candy #1 says just about everyone comments on it. In addition to the very large bar, this is a big place in general with typical American Florida décor. If you are like me, you won't give it a second glance. That's not a bad thing, it just is. FOOD- Giant, giant American menu with every category represented. Salads, burgers, steaks, pasta and seafood; it's all there and more. I ordered the Cajun Fettuccine Alfredo with blackened chicken & mushrooms. Damn it was good. Just the right level of spice and the portion was huge. I had to ask for some bread and a basket of warm soft rolls appeared instantly courtesy of Eye Candy #2. OWNER SUGGESTION- You are INSANE for not hosting a web page! If folks could easily see your menu, I guarantee a nice bump in business. Trust me, I know these things. CUSTOMER SERVICE- Along with being very pretty, the two young ladies behind the bar were excellent. Customer service was spot on. If you are thinking of Bookmarking places to try in Sebring, hit that button for these folks!

Backstory- To know ones surprise the owner is Sheila and she's had the joint for about five years. The first surprise is they are open 2 PM-2AM seven days a week and Sheila works every hour! That's right; twelve hours a day, seven days a week. Yikes! The second surprise is that before she became a bar owner, she was a phycologist. That makes for some interesting conversations! Atmosphere- Come on folks it's a dive bar! Before this it was a fruit stand and before that it was a gas station. You're coming here for a cheap drink, good company and not the décor. It has a pool table, darts and a TouchTunes jukebox. BTW- The parking lot is big. Adult libations- Full bar of course. Not really a specialty draft place; just the common stuff. The same with the wines. This place is also a liquor store or sometimes called a bottle shop. That means you can bring a bottle home! So when it's 95 outside, stop in where it's dark and cool and have a pop or two and some stimulating conversation with an interesting lady!

I have to say, I loved the ambiance of Gavaghans. I am not entirely an Irish pub kind of girl, but…read morewhen you are in Rome you do what the Romans do, right? And in Sebring, that means you walk into the cool Irish pub on the circle and soak it all in. The interior alone makes it worth the visit. Dark wood, warm lighting, that cozy tucked-away pub feel that makes you forget you are in the middle of Florida. It feels transported. It is one of those places in Sebring that you just have to see because it is so unexpectedly cool inside. Service was great. I was there for a quick in and out, so I sat at the bar and kept it simple with a chicken Caesar salad. Nothing fancy. For the price, it was very fair, and the flavor held up. No complaints. It did exactly what it needed to do, which was give me a solid meal in a comfortable setting without overcomplicating things. Now let's talk about Sebring itself. Sebring is one of those towns in the middle of nowhere Florida where you find yourself thinking, "I wonder what it would be like to live here?" while also scratching your head a little. It reminds me of The Villages before The Villages became The Villages. There is a concept there. It is adorable. It is charming. And most of the time, it is very, very quiet. Personally, I would go stir crazy living there full time. But I can absolutely see the appeal. And to be fair, Sebring is not always sleepy. It comes alive during major events like the legendary 12 Hours of Sebring at Sebring International Raceway, which draws racing fans from all over the world. There is also the Sebring Soda Festival, the Highlands County Fair, and various car shows and seasonal events that suddenly flood the town with energy. During those times, I imagine the entire vibe shifts. If I were to come back, it would be for one of those big events or for some serious antique shopping, because that is where this area quietly shines. Gavaghans fits perfectly into that Sebring personality. Cozy. A little unexpected. Solid. Worth stepping into. Even if you are not an Irish pub person, it is one of those spots that makes you think, okay... I get it.

We sat ourselves at a table nearest a window. The place is dimly lit. We placed our order at the bar. We did not wait long for our meal. We each had the Cesar Salad with Bacon bits and a glass of red wine. The salad was a generous portion, fresh and crisp with just the right amount of housemade dressing. We each ate half of the salad and took the remaining home. The place was quiet with only one other table seated. We were able to converse with each other in a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. It was a most pleasant evening. I recommend Gavaghans and plan to return on a weekend when the place might have a more livelier vibe.

I'm a non-smoker but I tolerated it because I enjoyed the people and the other aspects of the atmosphere. After 15 years, as of January 1st, the Tap Room is now NON-SMOKING! My lungs are very happy! Management is taking steps to remove as much of the odor as they can. Other than this big news, this is your typical dive bar- * Cheap drinks * TouchTunes Jukebox * Pool tables and dart boards * Occasional live entertainment * No food other than packaged snacks Pro Tip- They have a back entrance with easy parking. It's not fancy but it's used more than the front door! Note that the parking lot is a disaster and needs to be repaved. Drive in slowly! Atmosphere- Like many dive bars, the crowd varies from day to night. The crowd is older and more sedate during the day and younger and a bit rowdier at night. The TouchTunes jukebox is extremely popular here with many folks using the app on their phones. Genres played are mostly Classic Rock and Country with a little Pop occasionally thrown in. The bar is very large and is a bit unusual as there are both low and high chairs in different sections. Note that many of the low chairs desperately need to be replaced so choose carefully where you sit your thirsty ass down! Adult Libations- The big joke is the Tap Room has no taps! That's right, no drafts here but plenty of mostly domestic bottles and a full liquor bar. Bartenders- This place has 5 bartenders plus an excellent manager that often tends bar. The bartender's range in age from 30s to 70s. They are generally decent with some more conversational than others. Now that's NON-SMOKING, I'd love to give it 5 stars but the parking lot and the collection of crappy chairs hold me at 4!

It's a little off the beaten path for me and I'm a lazy ass so it took me until this weekend to get there! Arriving- It's in the clubhouse of the North Golf Course in the Highland's Ridge Community. Follow the signs for that clubhouse or let your GPS do the work. If you are familiar with the area, it was formally The Tavern. Ambience- So this is what a lot of folks would call a Country Club restaurant. As I had patronized the old tenants, I was curious how they were going to transform it into an Irish Pub. The answer is they didn't! It looks nothing like and Irish Pub. It's a large space with lots of natural light and traditional furniture. It has lots of outside seating that's covered with ceiling fans and many seats have a nice view! There is a very small bar that seats about six. In short, it looks like a Country Club restaurant. So much for pub ambience! Customer Service- Awesome, maybe seven stars! I had substantial interactions with the manager, bartender, and a server. All were exceptional. Adult Libations- Definitely not a pub style bar. It's a full bar with just a few taps but nothing special. Food- Like the ambience, it's an American menu with a couple of Irish dishes. There's Bangers & Mash and Shepard's Pie. Other than that, they throw in a couple of Irish terms to deceive you but it's really an American menu. There're enough choices to satisfy most folks. See their website. I ordered Irish Brisket Flatbread- Brisket, bacon, caramelized onions, diced tomatoes, BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese @ $13. It was out in good time and plated very nicely. Plenty of food for the price so good value. The flatbread was nicely crisp. I love caramelized onions and that's the base here. Everything was very fresh. Plenty of brisket. Unfortunately, the onions overpowered the other ingredients, so the flavors were not balanced. It was tasty but needed a little work to be a winner. Conclusion- If you're looking for an Irish Pub, you're in the wrong place. If you're looking for an American menu that has some potential with a great staff and beautiful outside seating, give it a try. As they are new and the staff is awesome combined with the outside seating, I'm going to be a little charitable and say four stars!
