I have an external hard drive with about 2TB of data that for some reason the computer suddenly could not see, and sometimes I would get an error message. Tried everything that I could think of, and a few solutions from the web and YouTube and still no joy. I called a few local computer repair shops and they all had the same pricing model which is a fee for the diagnostic which is always paid, and a fee for the data transfer once they determine that the data is recoverable. The data transfer fee is only charged if there is an actual data transfer completed. After getting quotes back from a couple of shops I decided that the entire digital archive of pictures and business documents were not worth the cost of recovery. Then I got a quote from Cactus Computer and we were back in business. Service and communication were quick, clear and complete. My data was moved to an SSD which they sold me for about the same price as Amazon. Cactus Computer will be my first and probably only call next time that I need technical support. I went in needing an intake fan and my cpu liquid cooler fixed but I got the news of the parts just reaching the end of their lifespan. The employee Dakota was very informative and clear on what was needed and recommended for the safety and quality of life for my pc. I had my AIO replaced with a fan cooler for easier maintenance and had my noisy fan replaced and while it has a different rgb so the color is a bit off I really don't mind he said he could have them all replaced if it was a problem but in my case I really don't mind it adds personality to my tower :) and while I was at it I had Dakota put in two more 8 GB ram sticks and they are working marvelously. I thought my MacBook Pro was toast after I flung it across the room when I almost tripped on the stair and it wouldn't turn on.
