Walking in, we expected this to be similar to Marty B's, but it is not. The lighting is lower and the ambiance is more upscale, but the staff was exactly what we were expecting. We were warmly welcomed upon entering and immediately seated. Brice was our server and he was very warm and polite. Our drink order was delivered to our table quickly, of which my wife ordered a skinny margarita and I had the spicy. Both were solid as was to be expected. For food, I ordered the brisket Birria tacos and she had an order of pork tamales and chicken tortilla soup. Our kids had the chicken strips. All our food was very good and I'd give the adult meals a solid A-. The only issue any of us had was the soup is slightly under salted. That being said, both the tamales and tacos were top notch. Excellently seasoned, well cooked and the presentation was great. We were talked into dessert (though it didn't take much arm twisting once the options were explained) and ordered the 5-layer ice cream and cheesecake. My daughter and I preferred the cheesecake while my wife and son preferred the ice cream. Although both were phenomenal and I would recommend either. We are typically not the type of family that orders dessert, but we wanted to give them a shot. Overall, I will say that the food is well worth it along with the atmosphere, but the highlight is the service. My wife works in the high end restaurant industry and this was a great experience. It's competitive with much more expensive restaurants and I'm very happy that this is so close to us. We will definitely be returning. My only complaints would be extremely minor, which is the lighting during the lunch service (maybe dial it up 15%) and the slightly under salted soup. 5 star restaurants does it again!! I've been to them all and this one does not disappoint. I never order fajitas but we came because of the highly recommended posts and reviews. We went early and the place was pretty full but we were able to get right in. Staff was friendly and able to make recommendations. This is a must for me. The interior was beautifully decorated and relaxing. Back to those fajitas- i have not stopped dreaming about those. We shared the regular beef fajitas. Well, everything Marty B does is amazing and this new Texican restaurant is no different. The margaritas are top-notch and be sure to try that $45 one! We had cheese enchiladas and soft tacos with beef fajita meat. All entrées were excellent and their Charro beans are about a 12 out of 10. We ordered the brownie dessert which is more like chocolate cake, but it was ginormous and probably big enough for at least four people, maybe six. They're working on their outdoor patio, which will probably be open by the time I finish this post. Be sure to check them out and I'm sure with it being a new restaurant there's going to be a wait. They do not take reservations. Sitting at the bar is very nice, it's gorgeous and of course you get to watch all the amazing bartenders. read more

Went here for a blind date. We sat at the bar to wait for our table, and we ended up staying at the bar. The tall young man, I believe his name was Elliott, was so kind and personable. Every single employee was amazing! Juan took care of us later and suggested a frozen chocolate drink with whipped cream. We ordered it and waited, and waited, and waited, and finally realized the restaurant had closed and it was almost 11pm. We got busy chatting, waiting for our order, but we had cashed out and I guess they forgot about us. it was nice they did not come and rush us off, but we wanted what we ordered. Marty B's has some of the very best restaurants ever, so I count this as a slight oversight. I attempted to call the establishment for a week after our visit, but they d not open until later in the day, and I am busy with friends and family that time of the evening. Good food. Long wait Saturday so we went to the bar. Everything is expensive and while good they have food a less expensive Mexican restaurant could do you well. Drunks are good but not regular prices. This is a top notch place and the looks are fine. Parking is huge and line was an hour plus at 6 pm. Go on a weekday. Fish was a red snapper covered with a read sauce that detracted from the flavor of fish. The appetizers we good and you should try them and stop. read more

No happy hour prices on drinks or bar bites either is a deterrent compared to other competing establishments. Restaurant is very loud and tables / booths are small and cramped. Not a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a meal with friends & family. The service was excellent, with a lot of staff but almost too much. I understand it's a new footprint for this chain of restaurants owned by Marty and his partners, and trying to draw business from the surrounding neighborhoods in the growing area of Argyle, but its a little too pretentious / expensive for the average family to frequent on a regular basis. read more

The food was delicious & an upgrade for Tex-Mex in the area. But the service was outstanding. Our waiter, Bryce, was very pleasant & went out of his way to make our visit enjoyable. One of our party ordered the tacos & found the beef lacking in flavor. When she shared that with Bryce he promptly summoned the assistant manager, Seth. Seth went and taste-tested the taco meat, apologized & agreed that it was pretty bland & not up to their standards. He said that this would be corrected immediately. The food was really good (a little pricey for Tex-Mex, but very good), ambiance was very nice even if a little loud, and the service was outstanding. We had the stuffed poblano and filet enchiladas. While the enchiladas were very good, the poblano stole the show. It was outstanding. Our waiter was also very attentive, the restaurant was well stocked with runners, and managers were around checking on and visiting with everyone there. You can tell when a restaurant is well run because the staff here were working their butts off and not just standing around like we've experienced lately at other nice restaurants. They also aren't walking around asking you what you need...they see something you need and they just take care of it. One tip for anyone wanting to try them, use their waitlist feature on their website before you head up there to save you time. This place has a wait for a reason. Use their waitlist function so you don't have to sit around at the restaurant. Great visit.....We'll certainly be back! read more

We have been 4 times and had excellent experiences each time. Marty visited us on two of the occasions and asked for our feedback which was a nice touch. Love the atmosphere on the patio, especially when it's a bit cold out and they have all the heaters on with a cozy fire in the fireplace. The beef fajitas are my fav and my husband typically orders the carne asada which was off menu at the time. No complaints! We would, however, love it if they had an on-menu specialty Tex Mex style steak perhaps accompanied with a cheese enchilada of sorts. Their guacamole appetizer is excellent too (and we are picky about our guacamole). Our service has always been fun yet professional even when they were going through minor growing pains upon opening. Yes, it would be nice if they could fix the amplified sound inside somehow, but we like the patio anyway. Overall love it and will return!! read more
