    Chicken nachos

We ventured over to Argyle today to try Cactus Canyon. We were excited because we've heard so many good things, but overall it was just average for our group. I ordered the tortilla soup. The bowl was a generous size, but it was extremely salty and a bit spicier than I expected. I love salty food, but this was a little over the top for me. One friend ordered the chicken chimichanga. The portion was huge, and she said the outside was perfectly crispy, but the chicken inside was a little dry. She did really enjoy the charro beans and rice. Another friend had the birria tacos. He said the meat was tender but felt the tacos themselves were pretty average. My husband ordered the brisket quesadillas, and those ended up getting the best review at our table. He said the brisket was tender and flavorful. My mom had the chicken nachos, which looked delicious, and she thoroughly enjoyed them. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It has a trendy, modern vibe with a darker atmosphere that we really liked. It was pretty loud during our visit, not because of the music, but I think the concrete floors make the acoustics a little challenging. Robbie was our server, and he did a great job taking care of us. I've really enjoyed the other restaurants owned by Marty B, so I hate giving this one a lower rating. Based on this visit, I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars. It wasn't a bad experience but it just didn't quite live up to the expectations we had. We'll definitely give it another try down the road and hope it impresses us a little more the next time around.

My friends in Texas took to to have dinner at Cactus Canyon. The modern interior decor was chic, just a tab bit dark. A very night club feel for dinner. Ordered the taco al carbon, the steak was flavorful and blended well with the sauce. We had also orders the queso for appetizer that we ate up with basket full of chips. Our server was attentive and checked in with us throughout the meal. It was a good experience having some Tex-Mex food.

It was my birthday celebration with my kids. Food was ridiculously amazing! It started with the queso with filet in it! Wow! We had 4 different people come up and wish me a happy birthday... We sat in a booth and it was perfect for us to talk and reminisce...it wasn't as loud as you would expect. We got there at 4pm, but left at 6pm and it was packed when we left... Our server was perfect and super attentive. Thank you Marty B for this place!!!

This place was absolutely amazing. The service was great checked on our table multiple times and kept our table cleared of anything we were finished with. The food was great more of an upscale Mexican food restaurant. The facility was very clean and seemed brand new although they said they have been open for a couple years. If you're looking for a great Mexican food restaurant and you don't need to dress up for I would definitely recommend this place.

Madison our server was great. She is top tier for customer service. She gave great recommendations. Hubby and I had vodka Rita and TexMex old fashion. The food we got was good. The chicken tamales for appetizer was so good. The pablono sauce is so good they to make it as a dip. Hubby got the. Chicken enchiladas and I ordered the ground beef tacos. The ambiance at the place is nice and intimate. If you like authentic food this is your go to place.

Searched for local restaurants since we are moving to the area and came across Cactus Canyon!! I was going to join the wait list ahead of time but there was no wait. When we arrived, we were seated. Inside is dimly but nice decor. Service was great - our server told us the off menu specials. We had the egg roll starter such was really good. I got the frozen espresso martini and hubby got a margarita. Both were really good - I'm not a big drinker and the martini definitely had me a little giddy, lol!!! Between the four of us, we had the brisket quesadillas, fajita beef quesadillas, enchiladas, and chimichanga. Everyone enjoyed their food so we ended with dessert that we all shared. It was good as well. We will definitely be back.

We have enjoyed two dinners at Cactus Canyon thus far and are going again soon with friends. The ambience is stellar, especially for the location. A true hidden gem! First of all, they have one of the best margaritas around with the "not a Karen-Rita"... Cadillac marg. Their poblano queso is also a 10 out of 10. The Carne Asada was seasoned beautifully and so was the Birria consume. However, the birria meat was chunky and the Carne Asada was chewy. I had the fajita beef nachos second time around and that beef was perfect. They need to triple the amount of beans on the nachos; it was not even a smear. I'm not a big fan of their chips or their salsa, but my husband thinks they're great. (Nacho chips are different and better IMO) The bar is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting there at our second visit. Our bartender, (receipt says "fake b" as her name), was very knowledgeable about tequilas. Gannon was our server in the dining area. He's incredible! There are plenty of great young servers, hostesses, and bussers; pls tip well! They have separate allergy menus. One for those who are gluten-free, one for dairy free, one for soy free, one for peanut free, etc. Great job, team! Marty B killin' it once again!

Wow, just wow all around! First off we moved here 6 weeks ago from WA and heard from several people that we had to try this spot. Garrett was our server and he was absolutely amazing! The drinks were great and came out very quickly despite how busy they were. The food was out of this world! Overall the whole experience was 5 stars all around. Highly recommend coming here if you haven't. We will definitely be back!

I always love the food here, I literally always enjoy the food it's so amazing. I ate the 8oz filet is was soooooo good and juicy. Make sure to get the fried Kayote and ask for ranch on the side! The asparagus is also top notch with that butter sauce they give you, I am getting hungry thinking about it... The service is always great from the circle star brand team shoutout to Ashton, Gannon, and Robbie for great service for the 3 times I've been here. Management is great also, the man with the bald head is awesome he replenished a salad that was accidentally taken off our table early that was so kind and thoughtful SORRY for not remembering your name. Shoutout to Kay and Chris for being great managers as well!!! The ambiance is very very nice, of course it's ARGYLE TEXAS so people dress very casual, but I like to dress nice here. It is a nice establishment after all, sandals and hats don't really make sense... I think prices are good especially considering prices you're finding at other places, that's inflation for you! Don't go out if you can't afford it! Compared to other circle star brands this was great priced for amazing tasting food, service, and ambiance. They also gave my girlfriend a rose for valentines day, thank you Chris for doing so!! Cheers to a great restaurant!

My second visit and I'll definitely be back! Absolutely amazing ambiance as well as friendly and courteous staff. Excellent food and margaritas! I tried and shared combo fajitas and enchiladas as well as the blanco queso! Yum! I then relocated to the BEAUTIFUL bar! This is my new "go to" for Tex Mex!!

Private party for Father's Day! With 4 little ones (grands ) under the age of five, having a private dining room was a must! It holds up to 20 people. The TV and seating area were an unexpected treat! My husband could watch The U.S. Open! While I was hesitant to book the private room, in the long run it was well worth it. The children could roam about the room and play on the patio with supervision. This was a more relaxed atmosphere than being in the general dining areas. Seth (general manager) was great to work with. He was very responsive via email and met us in person shortly after we arrived in the room. Our servers Carly and Miguel were attentive and flexible. Margaritas were excellent. Wine was good. Food was great. Desserts...fantastic! It is a splurge, but a great way to gather family together to celebrate.

    Not a Karen margarita. Perfect.

Everything we ordered was delicious. The guacamole tasted super fresh, the queso was flavorful and came in a generous portion, and the salsa had just the right amount of kick without being too spicy. The only small hiccup was the chips situation--they give you big portions of guac, queso, and salsa, but the chips come in a tiny bowl. (Literally 10 chips) very sad for 6 people to fight over so little of chips. Not a huge deal, just a bit surprising. We also tried the margaritas--they had great flavor, though they tasted absent of tequila. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back...maybe next time we bring our own chips! :)

If I could give La Fondita Mexican Restaurant six stars, I would legally change the rating system…read morejust to make it happen. Let me set the scene: I walked in expecting a casual meal and maybe a decent taco. What I got instead was a borderline spiritual awakening wrapped in foil and served with rice and beans. First of all -- the giant piña colada. When they say giant, they are not messing around. This thing arrived like it had its own gravitational pull. I'm pretty sure I saw a small family of tourists orbiting it. One sip and I was transported to a beach that doesn't even exist on any map -- coconutty, icy perfection with just enough kick to make me briefly consider texting my boss that I've moved to an island and won't be returning. Then came the beans. Listen carefully: I don't throw this word around lightly -- perfect. These beans were so good I genuinely paused mid-bite and just stared into the middle distance reevaluating my entire life. Creamy, rich, seasoned like someone's abuela whispered ancient secrets into the pot. I would trust these beans with my taxes, my passwords, and honestly my emotional well-being. And the corn tortillas... dear lord, the corn tortillas. I have had tortillas in many places, including at my own abuela's table -- and saying this feels like confessing a sin -- but these might be the best I've ever had besides abuela's. Warm, soft, slightly charred in all the right places, like they were handmade by someone who has been perfecting this craft since before I was born and possibly before electricity was invented. If I could build a house out of these tortillas, I would. I would live there. Happily. And then--just when I thought things couldn't escalate further--the huevos rancheros arrived. Eggs cooked to that perfect sweet spot where the yolk still has a little rebellion left in it, laid over a bed of everything that matters, all tied together with a sauce that refuses to be anything less than unforgettable. It's the kind of breakfast that makes you question why you ever settle for anything less in life. Comforting, bold, and somehow both rustic and wildly impressive at the same time. Everything else on the plate? Outstanding. Rice that actually deserves to be eaten and not just politely ignored. Salsa that sneaks up on you like, "oh this is nice--OH okay there it is." Service? Friendly, fast, and somehow emotionally supportive. Atmosphere? The kind of place where you immediately feel like a regular even if it's your first time. Final verdict: If you are anywhere within a 50-mile radius of Denton and you are not eating at La Fondita Mexican Restaurant, you are making a series of deeply questionable life choices. I came in hungry. I left changed.

We started things off right with chips, jalapeño ranch dip, and queso, which is honestly the only proper way to begin a Chuy's visit. Speaking of cherries, we also got the Tito's cherry limeade, and it was the spring we didn't know we needed to bounce. Our waiter was top notch: kind, attentive, and somehow always there right when we needed something without ever hovering. That kind of service makes the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. For food, we ordered the Baja shrimp tacos, and when I say the shrimp is BIG, I mean it (and no, we're definitely not out here flattering any men ).
