He made me think that there was no charge till the first billing cycle ended resulting in a rather large bill. Then he announced that I owed tax upfront after I specifically asked what I had to pay today and he told me nothing was due. Then when I asked about a privacy screen he asked why and who I'm hiding my texts from? That's none of his business why I wanted privacy screen. I definitely didn't need the attitude like I was doing some shady stuff. I asked to cancel everything and left without the phone or contract. Fast forward to this morning when I get a call from Verizon saying I have a 200$ bill due immediately. I call Verizon and turns out he left the contract open after I asked him to cancel/void everything. Thankfully customer service understood and zeroed out my bill and canceled the plan. The call center customer service is always helpful. Store associates in this store are rude and not very helpful.

For those of us living in rural areas of Missouri, with no access to fiber or coaxial cable service, Wave's wireless service is heaven sent. Wave would not sign us up for service unless it first determined through a "site survey" that the topology and distances would allow for sustainable service. We were told, because of the limitations of our location, we could expect at best 3Mbps service, which is what we subscribed for. . . that said, we regularly get 10Mps up and down. Only during brief periods of the heaviest rain do we get signal degradation. The service allowed us to work from home during the pandemic. Zoom and Team meetings work just fine. Streaming Netflix, Hulu, Amazon . . . perfect. The only extended downtime so far came after a bad storm with lightening damage on the radio tower to which we connect. Service was fully restored within 12 hours. Zach (the business owner) and his crew work seven days a week. (I know because I've reached Zach by phone on Sundays.) This is a locally owned business that has earned my loyalty and respect. BTW, we tried a well-known satellite business. The speeds were not great, and the latency was terrible. Streaming services buffered a lot.

After being transferred about 10 times and being put on hold over the course of an hour (CenturyLink had my first and last name reversed so I could not be found in the directory and kept getting transferred), the $100 disconnection fee for broadband services was waived. I checked my final bill, and there was still a $200 disconnect fee for voice services since the Internet services ran on DSL. Why would this not also be waived? I called customer service during the first week of April, and the representative said it would be resolved within three days after speaking with his supervisor. At this point, it's been two and one half weeks since that last call, and the charge is still on there. I have not been contacted by anyone for an update. CenturyLink has been the worst experience in customer service in any industry I have dealt with. It has also been the slowest and least reliable Internet Service Provider. I had to reset my modem nearly every day just to keep it working. This issue has gone unresolved for one month. What does a customer have to do to get this resolved? UPDATE: CenturyLink credited me with $200 on May 2, 2017, which was one day after I contacted the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I received my overpayment back during the first week of June with a check dated on May 30, 2017. I'm glad to have this resolved, but it's unfortunate to have to go through the BBB. Once we get into it, they're not even really familiar with the phone nor the process how to transfer data from the old one to the new one. Of course I'm concerned when they tell me they can get all the data except for the last year and a half of current time, which is unacceptable. Long process multiple hours.
