I've reached out to this company continuously for two months and got nowhere but the run around. If you don't want new business, just say that! Stop advertising. I finally gave up. I couldn't imagine spending $30,000- $40,000 with a company that can care less to respond to me countless times. Looking for a cabinet repair? Don't call these people ... unless you want them blowing up your phone- calling back to back, requesting payment before services are even rendered. I asked them to come out and quote the job and they refused saying it would be easy and a minimum fee. Then the price went up- three times! They told me they would need a week in a half to make a custom cabinet and showed up to my house the next day, unannounced, to install a prefabricated cabinet. The office manager then started messaging me saying "apparently my workers are on site and I need to get paid" (I guess she didn't know her workers were here?? Strange). She then showed up to my door- again unannounced, demanding payment for work that was in progress and refused to leave my living room stating "she needed to make sure the work was done right". The entire experience was extremely unprofessional and very uncomfortable to say the absolute least. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Beware! Charlie and his team are the best. I found them on Houzz where there were some examples of their work then contacted them about doing a custom built-in in our place. It wasn't a big job but I guess relatively small because most other vendors I contacted told me that they wouldn't take on the project and that they usually did larger ones. The ones that were willing to take on the project wanted to charge an arm and a leg. I'm so glad I found Cabinet by Design. They were really responsive, reasonably priced, and came out to do a consultation, listening intently to what we wanted and my "vision" but then adding their own thoughts, ideas and expertise. We had this little nook in the living room area that we wanted to make into an office/multi-functional space with some storage, ie cabinets. After the consultation, we then went out to their studio and went over the specific materials, touching and feeling them so we would know exactly what we were getting, discussion options and making final decisions. We went back and forth on the designs too and whenever needed they made modifications to the plan. Best of all was the price. This is the first time I'd ever done custom anything so I got a bit of sticker shock when getting quotes from other companies. Cabinet by Design was by far the most reasonable but I felt we got the high-quality product we were looking for too. Months later we are still so happy with the beautiful, modern built-in Charlie and his team built for our home. I am confident they would do an excellent job on other projects, big or small, modern or traditional, or whichever style you want. WOW! Cabinet by Design did a great job for me! On a whim, I stopped by their workshop on my way home booked my very small job. I have a custom made desk that I needed cut down to fit in a different room. The workers showed up on time, did an excellent job, cleaned up and even helped me move other furniture that was not their responsibility. During the day, the owner stopped by to check on their progress. He suggested they harvest a piece of trim from what was cut off to make the edge even more finished. I couldn't be happier! Charlie and his team are amazing to work with. They are diligent, extremely professional, and most importantly pay extreme attention to detail with respects to all of their work. Prior to meeting Charlie and working with him, I was stuck in a terrible position with a cabinet guy who provided extremely low quality work product. Charlie and his team were able to replace a damaged panel and really listened to my needs and concerns. I especially appreciated that he did not try to upsell me whatsoever. At no point did he say, replace the whole kitchen, or anything like that. We talked about the scope of the project and he answered some additional questions i had. He was thoughtful in his approach to resolving the small gap at the top of my cabinets to the ceiling. I am an extreme perfectionist -- when the new panel came which was a textured brown pattern, I was beyond impressed. The edges were perfection -- I could not believe it. It truly exceeded my expectations. Very high end quality, again most importantly -- Charlie and his team value attention to detail and perfection, like I do. They truly care about their work and making their clients happy. There are not a lot of contractors, cabinet makers, etc. out there that truly care. I hired these guys to refinish a bunch of twenty year old wood cabinet faces, some veneer, throughout the house that had faded from the sun and become somewhat discolored, and were also showing signs of wear and tear. They came out looking stunning, absolutely beautiful and brand new. I feel like Charlie, Sharon, Oscar and Raul are magicians! They matched the original color and finish perfectly. They're also total pros. Smart, nice, and incredibly neat and careful. Great to work with. Total perfectionists. Some parts of the cabinets were fixed, and had to be refinished on site.
