The store is fine, but the staff was ridiculous. We knew exactly what we were looking for, but as soon as we walked in we were told about how great the Cabela's credit card was. Said no thanks and picked up our item. While loading it in the cart, another employee pressed us a lot about getting their card. How we should both get it, and kept pestering. We finally broke free and we're heading to the register only to be pounced on by another guy about a new time share! Even after many attempts to break free he was instant on the giving us all the info. Phew! Finally ditched this one, and made it to the register. Thank goodness the cashier only pelted us with lame jokes. Once out of the store we felt as though we had survived a very ridiculous episode of some crappy reality show. Needless to say, I'll stick to Amazon from now on. read more

Can't even walk around without getting bombarded at the front entrance about signing up for a credit card and at the fish tank about signing up for a "free" trip, and when you say no they want to know why and guilt you into giving them money. I want to shop, not be harassed. read more

The short version is this. I came here to buy my very first firearm. One of the employees, Bob, is the single rudest employee I have dealt with to date. He's at the top. Didn't say hello, argued with me about whether or not I can buy the gun (Because I'm eventually moving to California?) Then when he found out he was wrong- After arguing with me and going into the backroom three times, in the midst of which he raised his voice nearly yelling- He got angry and even more combative. I literally stopped the transaction halfway through to get another employee to take over, which they couldn't without redoing everything. So instead two employees, Dirk and Audrey (Who went above and beyond, so kind and friendly) stood there and babysat this 83 year old man because he can't show even a modicum of respect or civility. As soon as they could, they took over. Smooth sailing from there. Dirk helped me pick out ammo, explaining the differences- and Audrey was joking around and helping after I decided what I wanted. I had nearly left halfway through, but thanks to them, stayed. For the first time in my life I asked for a manager to complain. No customer should be treated like that, especially if they want them to drop 600+ on a new firearm. It has now become an ongoing joke between my friends and family to say when someone is being rude or nasty "Wow, they're being a real Bob." If anyone higher up reads this- It is astonishing that an employee is allowed to treat people like this. This level of incivility and aggression is so far beyond acceptable. I just might come back, considering how well the other two treated me- But that will also depend on if Bob is still working there or not. Read the other reviews. It's not just me. If there is a negative review, 9 times out of 10, they'll mention an old man named Bob. I would absolutely recommend this location. Yesterday I dropped in to try and find a good secure case for my podcast/video equipment. I was looking aimlessly through the store when I was approached by Alec, a member of the Hunting Team. I told him what my goal was and he walked me over to another section and showed me a case that fit my needs flawlessly. The fact that this man went above and beyond what most non-commissioned associates would do made me take the time to write this review. Thank you very much Alec for helping me find a solution to the problem I was having. And thank you Cabela's management for knowing how to hire quality people that take CUSTOMER SERVICE seriously. On a recent trip to Ohio, I decided to check out Cabela's for some fishing gear. I ended up getting some lures, a rod and reel, line, and some hooks. When I was looking, I was offered help. The kid who helped us was nice, but I don't know that he was truly that knowledgeable. As I am new to fishing, I needed a lot of help. I didn't know which action to get on the rod, which reel would be good, what my line test should be, etc. My brother-in-law helped with the rod and reel; however, my sister called him off to help her look for something when it came time to get the line. I was getting everything to fish for smallies in the river. The guy recommended a 20lb braided line. He was already putting it on when my brother-in-law came back. He didn't say anything in front of the guy; however, when we left, he said that was way too much and totally unnecessary for what I was fishing for. The real reason for the markdown here; however, is the customer service. First, I know places try to get you to sign up for their store cards. This place; however, has someone walking around and they go and go until you basically tell them to leave you alone. Since I was with two other people, they tried to get all three of us to apply. I refused. The other two applied. The person pushing you to sign up then interrupted the guy who was putting line on my reel and made him come out and help with the applications. This process wouldn't usually take long; however, he was busy chewing out the kid (for not pushing us to apply before he came over) while also teaching him the process. Once the kid was done, someone else came over and started asking questions because it looked like he wasn't doing anything while the guy was talking to us about the card. Once we were done with the reel, my brother-in-law wanted some lures and hooks. He was asking about certain ones he knew; however, the guy wanted him to try another type. While explaining it, some other guy came up and started talking fishing with him. We were in the middle of trying to pick stuff and then the worker and this guy proceeded to discuss fishing for 20 minutes...while we just stood there waiting. I understand that fisherman love to talk fishing; however, this was pretty annoying! Once I got home and was going through everything, I decided to check Wal-Mart to see how the prices compare. Sure enough, I could have saved around $50 by going elsewhere! If I was supporting a local shop, I wouldn't have minded. In this case, I wish I had done price comparison shopping! I am very sad to downgrade my review for Cabela's. Things have drastically changed at this location since the company was bought out by Bass Pro. My favorite thing, the bargain cave, no longer exists. While they did still have some seasonal clearance, it was awkwardly placed in the middle of existing aisles in several different areas. Not everything was even properly marked down. I literally had to chase down an employee for a question, which was disappointing. When I was ready to check out, none of the lanes were open which led me to customer service instead. When I approached the customer service desk, there were 5 people standing around, none of which greeted me. They were chatting and I literally had to interrupt them to ask if they could check me out as no lanes were open in the regular checkout area. They then proceeded to make excuses for people being at lunch instead of just helping me. When someone finally did, he continued to talk to someone else as he did. I asked him to apply my rewards card, but he claimed he had already passed the option for that so I would have to call the 1800 number later to have my purchase applied. While things were clean and organized, customer care and quality of some items carried has drastically changed. Deals here aren't as good as they used to be. There is still a nice selection of dog items. read more

Staff were all wearing masks. Store had some pretty solid sales. The staff was attentive to what I needed. The only fault in today's visit was the amount of people in the store. I am not sure they were limiting how many people coming in, but I did appreciate one of the employees was present at the front entrance to pass out masks to any customers that did not have one. read more

This is one of the smaller Cabela's but is still a very nice store. This location is always clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful for the most part. Selections are plenty and I would say prices are on the medium to high side. I have always good experiences at this store. read more

I purchased a brand new Kimber pro carry II and took it shooting for the first time and it jammed every single round from the very first one. Would not feed 5 different brands of ammo and did not matter if they were hallow points or target rounds. I called cabelas and they said they could send the gun off but said it would be a long time prolly before I got it back. A brand new thousand dollar gun and they just throw there hands up and act like I'm the fool for trusting to do buisness with them. I've been buying guns there almost every two weeks. I will never trust this place again and I will never donate another cent to them. Beware before you do buisness with this company. read more

I stopped in the other day to purchase my boat license. The cashier was so efficient working with a few different people at once. She was on a support line for one gentleman and was able to take care of others while waiting. She was so positive, smiling, and just an amazing overall great experience from Brenda. read more

Today I arrived to purchase 2 propane exchanges since a few weeks ago I saw the signage outside indicating $7.99 per exchange. Cashier wanted $17.99 and was no help getting management to her location quickly. As I sat in my car about to leave, I notice a female employee walk up to the propane cage. I told her I was the one needing exchange, but the price inside was not $7.99. She in her absolute authoritative voice told me it was $17.99 and not $7.99. I did not tell her I already had taken a photo of it. I asked if she was a manager. Her reply was, "I used to be". Here is your sign. I told her I felt she was really confident in her position to speak with a customer with her tone and I hoped she felt good about her job. She replied she was perfect. We were there today with my husband because he was trying to purchase a gun. So... we waited about 23 mins for one of the counter guys to help us. However, they had a ticket queue and we were the next number. We waited while the workers assisted other customers that got there after us (with no number). Okay, whatever right? When they took the gun to the side counter, my husband told them he needed some other stuff and went into the aisles to look for them. Then a lady came looking for him asking him if he was ready to check out. He told her, he needed some other stuff and she told him they were ready to check him out. IM SORRY.. WHY THE RUSH NOW? Wouldn't you as an employee ask, what else can I get for you, or do you need anything else? Very disappointing! read more

Great store, always like shopping at Cabela's and Bass pro shop. Everything was organized. The holiday deals were great. Only reason I didn't give this place 5 star was the mood of some staff members but I guess everyone has their days, also many people simply did not want to wear a mask knowing that the state is in the purple zone for covid this month. read more

My review is based on the curbside pick-up. I put in a very small order for pick-up. Online showed that the item was in stock at my stores location, so I assumed the order would be ready within a few days max. A few days went by & I received an email to rate my experience with my purchase, so I assumed my order was ready if they were asking me to rate it (my mistake). They said they were very busy so it would be 15 min until they could bring it out, but that i could come into the store at the customer service desk & get it maybe faster, so I did. The customer service desk is split up in 3 different lines- returns, licenses & Cabela club. I wasn't sure which line to choose, so i picked Cabela club. The employee behind the counter shouted out to everyone in line asking if anyone was there for a club membership issue or signing up & 1 person from the back of the line said yes so she jumped the line in front of me & others & once he was done with her he just stood there not helping anyone else as if he was only trained to help people with that very specific need? He told me to stand in another line, so I did. It took me 17 minutes to get up to the desk. Once i did, they said they had to go to the back to get my order. 10 minutes & 3 employees later, they told me my order was in a warehouse in another state not ready yet. All the time I spent in line I noticed they had an employee standing at the entrance just handing out flyers upon entry, while being short staffed at the customer service desk. Doesn't seem very efficient. A few days later my order was ready & my husband went to get it. They refused to give him the order because they said only I could pick it up. Then I go back to pick it up & they tell me again that it's going to be 15 minutes before they can bring it out to me. It ended up being 21 minutes. By far my favorite outdoor adventure store. They have all your hunting, fishing and outdoor needs. They need a little bigger selection of shoes and dog supplies but overall they have everything you need. Then there is the staff. Always checking in to see if you need help but not so over bearing that you want to just say leave me alone like some other stores. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and super helpful. read more

Cabela's is one of my favorite stores, but I didn't think too highly of this one. It was smaller than others I went to and it was impossible to find someone to ask help of. I saw numerous people working there, but they were too busy to help customers and were not friendly. I waited on one representative as they shot the breeze with customers for the entire hour I was there. I came back numerous times after browsing the store and when I finally decided to leave, they were still talking in the isle. They didn't even try to make room for me as I looked for ammunition. I will never return to that store. I went to purchase a gun safe and revolver. I left with nothing. read more

Drove all the way across town to go to Cabela's on Feedwire rd to look at a Leupold® DeltaPoint Pro Red-Dot Reflex Sight on sale and probably buy one. There was about 15 cars in the parking lot so I thought this would be fast "NOT". Well I was at the gun counter and no one was there. So I looked around at this and that, still no one at the gun counter. So now I'm standing there "waiting", just as I was going to go to the front and see what's going on. Then an older man and I'll guess a customer, stepped up to a computer at the end of the counter and set up camp. After wasting 30 minutes I never did get to see the sight, I'll buy it somewhere else. Went in to the store 3 separate times to purchase Cabela's 80-Liter commercial food dehydrator, first time was told (after about a 15 minute wait), they just came in and are on the truck and will be unloaded later. You can come back if you want. Huh, no offer by the less than interested employee to take our name/number and call us. Second time, they couldn't locate the product and weren't that concerned and let us leave again. Third times the charm, right?? Well, we were told they had them in the back (on a trailer) and they could get us one, then we were told they were recalled and they couldn't sell us one. We asked to talk to the manager, it took the assistant manager a bit to come out. He spoke to us and apologized and said he would go in the back to locate a comparable or better item and sell it to us at the same price. We asked how long he would be and he replied about 2 minutes. We again waited. An employee came back to let us know they had a 160 Liter unit in stock and they would sell to us for the price of the 80 Liter. We waited for them to bring it out so we could look at it, then were told that they didn't have that one in stock after all. He then said he would order the new 80 Liter replacement and have it shipped to us. We said, no thank you and left the store. We got home, called Cabela's on-line and were told the 80 Liter units were not recalled and were for sale. They couldn't ship it to our house, it would have to be shipped to the store. We relayed our story to the employee and stated we would not be purchasing the item as we will no longer shop at that store. Bad customer relations, bad store management.. read more

Always hard to get help. They would rather have someone stand at the front door selling credit cards than actually helping customers. Went twice recently during bow season. No one available in archery section "certified" to shoot a crossbow. Manager said they wouldn't have anyone all week. May have a large selection but unless you're buying a gun it's a ghost town. read more

This store is pathetic, went today to buy code blue d-code sent cover, here we are at the beginning of 'rut', keep in mind this is suppose to be a premium hunting and fishing store, not one bottle on the shelve, asked an employee if they had any, she replied probably not we've been selling out of it, she didn't even bother to have someone check their back stock. This is a least the fifth or sixth time I've gone to this store to make a purchase of items they advertise on line and they don't have it in the store. The outdoors store is ok if your not handicapped or like me, recovering from surgery. They have electric carts for shopping but their aisles are so jam packed with merchandise you get stuck halfway down almost every aisle. I tried shopping there with one of the electric shopping carts but kept getting stuck in aisles with stacks of merchandise all over the store. Maneuvering around was trying at best. I finally gave up. If your a hunter with dogs, you are welcome to bring them into the store. We saw some adorable 10 week old rescued bloodhounds a family had with them. So cute. One more thing and it isn't Cabela's fault. Traeger's pellet smokers. The have plenty there, some cost $1000. Made in China. I'm sorry, but if I am spending $1000 on a grill the dang thing better be made in the USA. Just sayin... read more

I was able to find the bullets and autoloaders easily enough without having a store worker hold my hand. One employee did ask me if I needed help finding anything. I thought I was a semi-outdoors loving kinda guy. Then I went to Cabela's. They literally have everything outdoors related that you can think of, and like 17 times more. Fishing poles? Check. Meat smokers? Check. A dragon catching Bald Eagle? Check (call and ask if they're in stock). This store is heaven on earth for all the rednecks and Duck Dynasty wannabes.
