I stopped by Cabana Winery on a Saturday because my son had mentioned that he really liked their wines while he was visiting home and I wanted to pick up a few bottles to bring to him for his birthday. If you plan to do a tasting here, Saturday is the only day they are available without a reservation. Because of that, I was worried it would be packed, but when we arrived, it was definitely smaller than I expected and not super busy. They are dog friendly which is always a plus for me and my pup even got to meet another very sweet senior dog while we were there which made my visit even more enjoyable. We did not stay for a tasting that day, but I was able to find a few bottles that I thought my son would enjoy and purchase them. I was particularly excited for the Bourbon barrel cab, which they had a little bit of difficulty finding but I did ultimately get a bottle. While I was waiting for them to locate it, I was able to look around at some of the awards the winery has received and learned a little bit about them. They focus on small batch wines and experiment with things like the Bourbon barrel aging, which I was quite excited for. I love bourbon. We did end up sampling the bottles over my son's birthday weekend and he has excellent taste. I enjoyed them both. But of course the Cabernet was my favorite. It was smooth and a little bold and definitely different from what I typically drink, but I enjoyed it. Even though we didn't do a full tasting at the winery, I left with a positive impression. It's definitely a place I would recommend to friends or family visiting and I will most likely go back and do a proper sit down and tasting in the near future. read more

We walked in Saturday around 1:30pm and it was empty. We were a party of 9. $10 tasting fee for 3 wines and $15 for 5 wines. They don't normally waive tasting fee. Most of the wines were light tasting. We were poured a comp semi sweet moscato to start off. The viognier, chardonnay and petite syrah were bolder. There was an earthy merlot. Some reds were tannic and some were smooth. The pours were ok portion. They allowed dogs. I think you can bring food too since they don't sell any. read more

So this review is BC (before coronavirus) as it took place in late February. I rarely give out one star reviews unless it is seriously warranted. However when I was here a few months ago, I was excited to try out Lodi wines as I usually do wine tasting in Amador or Napa. What brought me here as well as the Lodi region was the fact that they were one of the wineries listed in a wine passport that I had acquired from attending a wine tasting event. Basically they were listed as providing a "complimentary tasting for two." Needless to say when I was here I did a tasting of their wines and we ended up buying a bottle ($30 - 35). We were charged for both the bottle and the tastings. When I mentioned that I had the passport, the owner threw a fit. He took out a $20 bill from the register and threw it at us. I am pretty sure it was the owner as I checked out their website and it was the same guy on the website who was there at the time. The employee working there looked extremely uncomfortable and I felt bad for him. Who does that?!?!? I was so shocked that I just wanted to leave. Dude, I don't care if you had forgotten to take your meds that morning, but basic Business 101 is: Don't offend your customers. Keeping existing customers is cheaper than acquiring new ones. Yeah, so not coming back and not recommending. read more

After being introduced to this place during the yelp event and enjoying it so much I decided to come back with some friends who love wine. My best friends birthday was coming up and she really enjoys her wine as well as all of her friends. They frequent Napa and I wasn't sure if they were aware of this place, so I created an invitation on Facebook and invited them all here for a surprise birthday brunch. The response was really good, many of the girls were surprised this place existed and were anxious to come try it out. I had made reservations for our group and the weather had been kinda iffy the week prior but I was assured either way they would accommodate us indoors or out on patio if possible. The morning of was very nice and we ended up getting a nice table off in the back which they had all set up for us. Don't forget to check in on Yelp for your free glass of wine. The staff took care of our group very well. Drinks were refilled timely (unlimited mimosas was a popular choice) the menu was fabulous and everyone found something they were excited to try. Such a cool place! WINE, BEER, PIZZA & MORE My wife and I attended an event at Cabana Winery & Bistro. Since I've been looking for a wine that I would like, we took advantage of the event to taste and to find a great wine. WINES We got to sample a red and white wine. To me red wines are strong and bitter. I first tried the Cabana Red. It was pretty good, but the taste was a little to much for me. Basically to strong for me. I then tried the homemade sangria. WOW that was great. The taste was light crisp and refreshing, and very easy to drink. I also tried the Cabana White, it was one of my favorite ones to drink. It wasn't to strong and also had a crisp & refreshing taste. It went down smooth and had me coming back for more. I also tired the Cabana's Pinot Noir. I also like it, It had a smooth finish with an awesome hint of what I think was pepper. But my favorite wine ended up being a Old Vine Zin from Zagan's Fire. I thought it was very fruity a very berry flavor, with an all around smooth taste from beginning to end. FOOD The artisan cheese assortment is awesome and the pair well with the wines that Cabana Winery has to offer. Some cheese have a strong flavor and some have a very mild flavor. I prefer the mild flavored cheeses the best. But my wife likes the stronger one. Definitely try the wood fired pizza's. They are perfect, All of the ingredients are from local growers, which is awesome. My favorite pizza was the Apple Hill Pizza, made with chicken sausage, bacon, gala apples, sage, lemon, arugula, mozzarella drizzled with caramel sauce. mmm mmm good. We also had the meat balls. Holy smokes that things were pretty amazing. Just the right flavor. The meat was marinated just perfect and the sauce had an unbelievable taste. As for dessert the bread pudding was good. Nice a fluffy with homemade whipped cream on top. STAFF AND VENUE The venue is nice, and has a very homely feeling with a nice vibe. The patio is very spacious with plenty of places to sit, plus it is dog friendly. Inside the building is some what small but cozy. Plenty of seats against the wall and my favorite bar seating. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable about their wines. It was great to talk to the owner Robert about baseball and Red Sox second base men Dustin Pedroia. (I went to school with him) While my wife talk to Amy the bartender about anthropology and teaching. You can tell how passionate the owners are about their AWESOME business. This is a great find for anyone who likes quality wines, a relaxed atmosphere, and farm to fork eats. An outdoor patio with firepits and weekend live music rounds out the space. A brunch menu and bottomless Bloody Marys on the weekend. A fresh pizza and a bottle of wine for $30 deal. A refillable 1-liter wine bottle...the owners have thought of everything on my checklist for an amazing wine bistro. The space is much bigger than it looks from the street and is right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. I drove right past it the first time. Luckily, street parking is ample - and free! Not only do they bottle their own wines (try the pinot noir and the cab sauv) but the owner is also a licensed importer with an eclectic international selection. The house wines have also fared well in state wine competitions. I wouldn't have even known about it if it weren't for the Yelp event I attended, and enjoyed this place so much that I'm planning my next visit. read more

Cabana Winery is a hidden gem in East Sac. I love being introduced to new venues when attending events. This was the case with Cabana Winery. Being from Elk Grove, I would never think to come to this part of town, but am so glad I did. This was my second time at Cabana Winery and each experience keeps getting better and better. The owners, Robert and Rene, were the perfect hosts. They have been making world class wine for many years and brought their craft to this little urban slice of heaven in East Sac. I love speaking with people who have a passion for what they do. You can see the spark in their eyes when they talk about their wine and food. Their pride shows in the quality of their wares. I could not get enough of the meatballs. The Boston style uses beef and Italian sausage to produce rich, hearty meatball that was hard to resist. I also loved the Merlot and took a bottle home after my first visit. Besides the meatballs, we were also nuts about the wood fired, thin crust pizza. The BF even took an entire pepperoni pie all to himself after the event. The crust was perfectly cooked with just a little char. My personal fave was the one with slices of bacon and apples. I've never had a pizza with fresh apple slices and it makes me wonder what I've been missing out on. Besides Robert and Rene, the other stars of Cabana are the staff. I got to experience Cabana Winery yesterday and was pleasantly surprised on how such a nice place managed to be under my radar. Tucked away in a more residential area, in Elvas Ave, is a winery and bistro lovingly owned by Robert Smerling and family. Robert has over 25 years in the wine making business and was the founder of Renwood winery in Amador County. Tonight he invited us in and we were able to sample some of his award winning wines both white and red although I only got to try the red (my choice) . I tried the Pinot Noir and the Merlot and both were excellent. I was also able to sample a very nice charcuterie plate of cheeses, meats and nuts, as well as some of his famous "Boston Meatballs" were on display. I really liked the meatballs, as they were seasoned and spiced well and had a zippy red sauce that seemed to go great with the merlot that I was having at that time. But the main thing that i came away with was the passion that Robert had for his business. He talked about how he had a corporate job in the world trade center, and transitioned that to the founder of Renwood for about 2 decades and then to Cabana where the site is the actual winery as we took a small tour of the facilities. He broke down the process and gave some characteristics of good and great wine, as well as discussed the differences in barrels from France as opposed to the ones made in the US as well as life expectancy of the barrels. So although our visit was a taster of his entire venue, we look forward to sampling some of the other experiences that we did not get to partake in such as the summer concerts, the outside fire pit and the pizza and dinner selections. Truly a hidden a gem! Cabana Winery & Bistro is tucked away in East Sacramento. They have quite the assortment of beverages and food, not to mention my favorite beverages and food. WINE & PIZZA! They have award winning wines, I sampled many but my favorite was the Cabana Red blend they make. It was so good I went back for seconds, thirds, and I stopped counting after that. :) I also saw several people drinking their white wine and the sangria. You can purchase wine there as well, wine-ing!!! I got a bottle of their red blend in their personalized growler that you can bring back and have filled. Their food.....I'm still thinking about it days later. They have an assortment of artisan cheeses that pair so well with the wines. I'm obsessed with cheese, goat, cow, soft, hard, stinky, the not so stinky. I was so impressed and happy with the variety of cheeses they offered. The pizza they serve is wood fire thin crust and phenomenal! We tried the Apple Hill Pizza pizza which had Chicken sausage, apples, bacon, sage and mozzarella. Pepperoni pizza, and a mushroom pizza that was to die for. We also tasted the meatballs which had beef and sausage. This place was a meat lovers dream. Service- saving the best for last. They were so attentive and friendly. My glass was never empty. They were very nice and informative when we were tasting the wines. They walked around and asked about our experience. Overall the staff were top notch. We even met the owners who were so down to earth, had a great sense of humor, and so friendly. They were so kind and generous. I can't wait to go back. This hidden gem is the place to be, either during the day on your day off or after a long day this should be your next stop! I had the pleasure of trying this place two days ago with some awesome friends. We had the opportunity to try many of their delicious wines, whether it be a white, red, or a blend you can't go wrong. This is also one of the few vineyards that actually had an amazing menu selection. I highly recommend anything from their large cheese options to their artisan pizzas, which they make their crust from scratch and bake it in their outside pizza oven. They have something available for both vegetarians and meat lovers! Don't be lame and stay inside, though it's always nice to be closer to the bottles of wine or the great blends they have on tap, but go explore what the have outside in the back. Plenty of tables and cozy fire pit to warm up to, or a cushy bench to just sit back and relax. Can't wait to bring some friends back here for a second go around! read more

Its a nice. A baseball game playing on the tv with a large wine selection behind the bar. The seating inside is limited, but the accommodations outside are quite extensive. Husband and wife ownership of the business with decades in the wine business. This isn't just the wine talking I think... although I'm sure that if you had attended the event here, the wine would more than likely speak for you as well. If you like reds, their ker-rig-nyon (excuse my atrocious spelling but I was also corrected on its pronunciation during the night haha so this is the only way I know how) was clean and went well with most things. Not too dry, not too sweet for a cab merlot blend. I also had their Pinot Noir and Cabernet. It was the beginning of an incredible evening but I would attribute that to the people around me as well as the owner and servers. Needless to say, the owners for the winery as well as those behind the bar gave a good amount of history and class that made the rest of the evening shine. For what I had in terms of food and what is offered by the restaurant itself I cannot really offer an in depth opinion since I haven't had a meal yet here per se. The pizza (an asparagus and bacon affair) was delish, the dessert was simple clean and tasty. I believe it was bread pudding? Still munched it though haha. After speaking with the owner's wife, my considerations for what would bring me back is simply them. I had a good hour long conversation with the wife of the owner about their traveling and the wine that they bring in on a general basis from around the world. I'm not a conniessuer by any means of the word but I certainly enjoy wine much like anyone else. A lush? Me? xD They've been in the business forevs and it shows. Wine pairings for generations. Certainly, if you have an itch for knowledge of some sort please pick the brains of the people that have won awards. You will not go wrong here. The husband also gives seminars on wine from what I remember. I'll have to come by again sometime to try the food though and I'll update things more then at that time. Venue/ambience: Street parking is pretty available around cabana winery. Upon walking inside, there is a cute little set up of tables alongside a bar. The wall side had booth style seating with cute little decorative pillows. There was also a larger outdoor patio area with cute lights and many tables. They had music playing in the background and the owners mentioned that a live band plays on certain days of the week. Food: The cheese plate was amazing! Blue cheese, Brie cheese, some other amazing cheeses! The plate was speckled with cranberries, almonds, and halved strawberries and served with crispy baguette slices. I had the opportunity to try some wonderful wood burn thin crust pizzas with various toppings (along with vegetarian options). Each pizza had a great charred taste and the magic mushroom pizza had an amazing umami flavor. I was also able to try their meatballs which were tasty, very juicy, and the meat kind-of fell apart with tenderness ... The bread pudding was topped with chocolate fudge and had a tasty balance of cinnamon and went well with the whipped cream. It was pretty eggy tasting, however, so my vegetarian roommate was slightly weirded out by it ahha. Though I'm not a wine connoisseur, the cabana white was pretty tasty and had a nice balance of tart and sweet! The red was drier than I prefer by I'm sure that once I get that acquired taste, it would be great (: the sangria wasn't as sweet as the ones I usually try, but it was still good as Scott (the man made it "homemade") was super nice. So this is my 2nd time at Cabana Winery and Bistro. How cool is this that you can actually go to a winery and not have to drive all the way to Napa or somewhere out in Timbuktu?! This place is right off of 65th and Elvas plus there is unlimited parking along the sides of Elvas. The owner Robert has been in the business for over 25 yrs. Robert , his wife Reeny and staff were very cordial and knowledgeable on wines, cheeses and food. I sampled several cheeses, deli meats as well and tried a few slices of their homemade pizzas that were all delicious !!!! They had to be baked in those brick ovens. Pizza was light and perfect. (Mushrooms, sausage and (I'm thinking the last one was a) mandargherita.) I tried the Pinot Noir and enjoyed it so much, I went for another! After chatting with other guests throughout the evening, the waitress passed chocolate covered bread pudding. This place would be great for meeting up after work with friends. Ambiance is warm and romantic. In the front there is covered patio seating with heated torches on all sides. Perfect for an engagement or milestone birthday. If you are looking for a venue for a small or large event, the back of the establishment holds up to 200 persons if I remember right, plus there is a fire pit to congregate around on those nippy evenings. This winery is a hidden gem in the East Sacramento neighborhood. The place is really cute, cozy inside but large outdoor seating area in the front and backyard, which is perfect for summer nights. Parking is limited but plenty of street parking. I tried their white wine and sangria, which I really enjoyed. We also enjoyed their cheese and meat plates, beautiful presentation and paired well with my wine. They offer an large selection on wood burn pizza, my favorite was the cheese and sausage. I was introduced to Cabana at a client party 3 years ago. It was such an amazing experience at an obsure location surrounded by car repair shops, with no parking...so easily missed. I loved my experience so much I planned a retirement party for a colleague. It was a huge headache dealing with the owner that didn't have skills at the details of catering. My stomach was in knots if this was going to be a successful event. No concrete cost with contract on the details of the items. I was delighted to say the event was spectacular and the staff was amazing. I enjoy the east coast, know it all, character of the owner and I bet this place is great for their brunch music. Although I'm an alumni of UCDavis, a campus known for its Enology and Viticulture program, I feel I received an education worthy of some sort of certificate having learned so much from the proprietors of the Cabana during my recent visit. This urban winery has sophisticated equipment, purchases high quality grapes, and only uses the best wooden barrels from France to produce high-end wines at an affordable price. But wait...there's more..The kitchen is staffed with chefs that prepare delicious cuisine using only the freshest ingredients, most of which are locally available (with exception to the exotic European Cheeses) for the highly sought after Farm-to-Fork designation. And, it doesn't stop there...the location is optimal with the plentiful free parking, and the venue itself is capable of hosting events from weddings, special celebrations, and holiday events. I never knew this Winery/Bistro was even here and it's less than 10 mins from my house who knew..lol! ;) First of let me say parking is not a issue here there is plenty of street parking so no reason to worry about that, phew! Cabana has such a lovely patio area like who would want to sit inside? when you have a beautiful area? The fire pits are absolutely fabulous and you can definitely tell the take pride in their establishment unlike some places I've been to in the past. They product they're own wine on the premises as well as in Lodi. They offer a great selection of wines that will not disappoint and mostly award winning wines at that. You will not get cheap wine here nothing but some of the best. They have a good menu selection and the food is farm to fork. I will be back to check them out again. read more

Say yes to Lyft-able (or Uberable) wineries. I've been to two private parties at Cabana. Service was excellent at both, as were the appetizers. They've got a lot more space than you think. Tons of tables with umbrellas are in the back. I'm intrigued by their events ranging from live music, wine education, grape stomp parties and bottling parties. Apparently, it's also the spot to watch Boston sports if you are into that kind of thing. Check it out and try the Pinot. read more

Cabana Winery & Bistro is a local gem, hidden in East Sacramento, providing a warm and welcoming environment for wine enthusiasts and basically anyone that would enjoy an evening of class. Not only do they serve award winning wines, they offer a variety of delectable foods that all pair perfectly with the wine you are drinking. Venue - This place could easily be missed if you are driving by, but make sure not to. There is plenty of street parking as well as handicapped parking up front. Inside the bistro, there is a wooden bar area where you can sit, drink, and watch sports on TV, with plenty of smaller tables behind the bar area. But where it's more fun is outside...they have a large outdoor patio with plenty of tables for small parties as well as big groups. The area has shade overhead and is nicely decorated with strings of lights. There is also a fireplace you can sit around, eat, and hangout. I believe Friday nights (and possibly other nights) they have live music in the outdoor patio. Food/Beverage - I tried their sangria first, which was refreshing, yet you can definitely feel that kick of alcohol. They have an assortment of quality wines, including the Cabana red and white. I tried the white wine, which was smooth and delightful. As for food, I tried a variety of quality cheeses and meats from their charcuterie board. It also came with nuts, cranberries, olives, and crostini. They were all awesome! I also had the wood-fire thin crust pizza and meatballs...these are Boston-style dishes (as the owner Robert is from Boston). I loved the two vegetarian pizzas the most...one had mushroom and arugula...and the other had a creative assortment of purple yams, potatoes, jalapenos, and tomatoes. For dessert, I had the chocolate bread pudding topped with homemade whipped cream...very good and not too sweet! Service - The owners, Robert and his wife Rene, were so warm, welcoming, and friendly!!! Robert has been in the wine business for over 20 years and has produced many award winning wines. 3.5 stars Cabana Winery & Bistro is another example of some of the new and exciting cafes opening in Sacramento. It features a wine bar, interesting menu items, patio - and outdoor live music on some nights. Robert, the owner, has been in the wine industry more than 25 years and recently sold his Renwood Winery. About two dozen wines, all of which Robert has had some involvement, and a few beers and cider, are served. We stopped into Cabana after hearing about it from friends. The cafe was quiet on an early Saturday evening, and Robert and his wine manager Sean were very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu, events and wines. Wines by the glass stat at $5, with bottles from $16-46. Pierini and Newcastle were on tap during our visit, as well as a beer from Uncommon Brewery of Santa Cruz. Local cider by Two Rivers, 22 oz bottle, $9. Menu items included a creamy cold cherry soup, which Robert explained was an old Polish recipe that came from his family, as well as a duck pate for $9. While they were interesting, weren't big fans of either dish. The crab cake and risotto were both good but not memorable (those are two dishes that should ALWAYS be memorable). Really cool spot...took a friend here for their birthday. When you first get there, you notice nice outdoor seating in the front and the side of the restaurant. The day we were there, there happened to be a private party. Because the day was nice and sunny...and not too hot, we chose to sit outside in the front. This place has a lot of wines to choose from...makes sense seeing how the name is Cabana winery. What doesn't make sense was my butt choosing to drink a beer (Go figure). We ordered several things off the menu....lets see if I can spell this right...charcuterie board, Mac n' cheese, artichoke dip and pizza. Everything was delicious. Artichoke was flavorful and a little spicy (has jalapeño in it). Mac n' cheese was very cheesy and tasty. Pizza was sweet and savory...had apples, sausage, bits of bacon, arugula on top. Very nice. I like my pizza on the doughy side, and it was. Overall...very nice! Staff was nice and friendly...the waiter (seemed like he was the only one when we were there) gave suggestions when asked. Negatives are parking (one handicap and one open spot in their parking lot...rest have to find parking elsewhere) and the train the comes by every so often across the street. Cabana Winery & Bistro is a cute combination of an urban winery and restaurant tucked into East Sacramento. I was invited here as part of a private party and had little trouble finding parking on Elvas outside the winery. They are located right where Elvas turns into 56th near H Street. The facility has a rather large campus with a main building hosting a large bar and small seating area. There is ample outdoor seating in front of the restaurant, but beware that this is directly in front of the main freight rail tracks so you will hear several large trains pass by. Further back, the bistro has several more outdoor seating areas near the cellars including a warm fire pit. For our event, the winery offered samples of their house wines including several reds and whites. I liked the reds, although I did not sample the whites. The food was very good with nice "Boston" meatballs in honor of the owner's heritage - if the Red Sox signs did not already give that away! Another Yelper and I shared a margarita pizza which came with an extra aioli topping. The thin crust pizza came quickly and was a great addition to the wine. Cabana Winery & Bistro has a cute and eclectic mix of a winery and restaurant. It is a little hard to find if you are not familiar with the neighborhood, but pretty easy to spot from the street. Cheapest flight I've ever taken! Take that Southwest! Haha, 7 tastes (approx 2oz) for $20. They have other choices, but I went for the gusto! Why not try their entire line of wines in one fell sweep?! We did not enjoy the food, however after eye hustling everyone else on the patio it all looked good. I've heard good things via Social Media/friends as well, so I will be back to try something off their food menu (I will update when this has been accomplished)! I love how this is a local, small, yet personable winery. The owner was there and really nice. He even thanked us for stopping by as we walked out, although he was having dinner (from what I could tell) with his wife and daughter. The service was impeccable. They checked on us multiple times, without feeling overbearing. If you can brave the Sacramento summer heat, their patio is quaint and nice, just don't sit by the flower pots (bees will keep you company). They also have an indoor area, which is cool as a cucumber, if you can't hang outside. On Sunday night (my first and only visit so far), there was a nice fella singing and playing his piano. It was very low key and he was talking to the crowd and interacting with us. I'm smitten with the little tasting glasses. They are stemless and mini, so essentially they are adorable. What treasure to find a wine tasting here on the little corner of southeast Sacramento. A pleasant place to come and relax. Was suprise how well this place was put together. A nice patio up front with outdoor gas burning fire place.... On the side there are room to just simply stretch out and enjoy sipping your wine. I came here with my wife for and event and was totally suprise....on how well kept and clean this winery is. During this time we were hosted by the owners , Robert and Rene and their staffs who are very friend , helpful and accommodating in whatever questions and/or help they can help or answer you with. I love Pinot Noir and was so suprised to taste how smooth their Pinot Noir is... I believe the Appellation was at their Lodi vineyards and tell you it competes with the best of what Napa and or Sonoma can offer for a very very reasonable price. It's up there !! I can only compare it with another Napa Valley winery (wont mention the name) who makes pretty pricy wines. Man I be enjoyed the tonight. The pairings was right on and even have some mushroom pizza a little later. I stick to my cheese, cold cuts and more cheese. The Merlot wasn't bad at All also. I sure will come back here. This winery has been here around 2 1/2 years in my neighborhood and I just discovered it thanks to a private event we were invited to. The entrance looks small but it has a huge patio on the side with a fire pit that holds about 200 people for events and live concerts (check event calendar) The front has a small patio with flame heaters and the cabana tasting room and bistro has tables and nice space to sit and enjoy their pizza and wine specials , charcuterie with friends. The owners & staff makes you feel at home and pour their award winning wines.... love the Chardonnay! Pizza ,imported cheeses and charcuterie EXCELLENT! It's a great place to wine down , parking on street with not much street lighting. I do recommend for you to check it out. I came here yesterday with a friend of mine to redeem a Groupon. The Groupon was for four wine tastings and a bottle of wine. I was starving so my friend and I also ordered some food. As for the wine I tried the Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabana Red, and the Cabernet. The Cabana Red and the Pinot Noir were my favorites. Since a bottle of the Pinot was included with my Groupon, I'm glad I liked it ; ) My friend and I shared the charcuterie board, Autumn pizza (bacon, butternut squash, egg), and the adult root beer float. The food was really good. The adult root beer float was my favorite. Service was a little off. When I entered the bistro there was a gentleman standing next to the register who was completely absorbed in his phone. Great place. This is the kind of place that's great for East Sac. All the wines are fantastic, especially the Merlot and the house red. The food is also pretty decent. The atmosphere is a good 4 out of 5, mainly because the place's best spot, the back patio, isn't visible from the street and needs to get some decorations. Also, if you're unlucky, you'll have to put up with annoying trains going by. The place is great for a date, brunch, or wine-tasting. The staff and owners are super cool. I made reservations for a Saturday night and I'm glad that I did when I got here, because every table on the front patio had a name card on it. I was very warmly greeted and led to my table in the back. There is live music on Friday and Saturday nights so reservations are highly recommended. Cabana Winery & Bistro gets 5 stars for spectacular wine, delicious food and splendid people who work there. I had the pleasure of trying the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir as well as the Cabernet. With each bottle costing less than $30 it is sure a deal you cannot pass up. All of what I tried is hands down amazing. I can't wait to come back and try the other whites and reds. The pizzas at Cabana are THE BEST. I got to try the Magic Mushroom and I fell in love. This pizza was so good that now every time I think of pizza, Cabana pizza is the only one I am craving. Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Not many people here. I had the blueberry French toast and the florentine eggs Benedict. The food was good. The service was very good. They ran out of potatoes so the waiter (forgot his name) gave us unlimited mimosas for the price of one! Wow! There was only one cook so good took kind of long to come out but, we didn't really mind. We weren't in a rush and the atmosphere was comfortable. I didn't stay for wine tasting but I did look over their menu. 7 for $20. Not bad. I will be coming back for the wine tasting. Absolutely delightful experience here. Husband and I just loved the "backyard" feel to the outdoor seating area. It was very laid back and comfortable. While dining here, I tried the white wine (amazing) and the sangria (a tad too strong for my tastebuds). My husband had some of the red wines, he liked them all- especially the cab, and he also had a dark ale beer (which I admit to drinking about 1/2 of). We both shared from a selection of tasty cheeses, to die for meatballs, and some of the best woodfire pizzas I've ever had in my entire life! The best part of my time here, was definitely getting to know the owners of this great establishment. They took the time to talk with us and just socialize about everyday normal stuff.
