LOVE this place -- beautifully decorated and relaxing vibe. Food and drinks are served in a very appealing way, I.e: sandwiches and napkins come in little baskets, very cute. I ordered a jasmine (sweetened) tea with tapioca and a slice of Japanese cheesecake, both were very enjoyable. I also liked that not all the mugs and glasses were the same, kinda made it feel like each order was personalized for the customer. There are also different options for seating (comfortable soft chairs by the window, wicker chairs at a table, etc.). Would definitely come back and would definitely recommend. Good for a date maybe, too ;^) read more

Ca Phe Phin - A view from my table. - Vietnamese Near Me - Houston, Texas

This place is probably the best coffee shop around the area. I go to this place a lot!! It's kind of hidden behind akimi and it looks tiny on the outside but the inside is really chill and they play good coffee shop music.. And speaking of music, they got live music sometimes too... it's a really good place to chill/study/relax!! and the people that work there knows almost everybody by their names.. read more

Amazingly smooth coffee! No bitter after taste and even my coffee hater friend enjoyed my brew. I got the Honey B Coffee. It was sweet, rich and bold. Perfect. It had just a bit of cream and honey. My friend tried the Phin Chai which was spicy and a sip of hers gave me warm fuzzies. The shop is small, and the hours aren't convenient, but that'll just help me not spend my whole paycheck there each month. A cozy place and family owned which made me enjoy it all the more. read more

I'd been dying to come here and try this place for weeks (but couldn't because of their slightly abnormal business hours). I finally got a chance to this afternoon with BF. The place is pretty adorably decorated and reminds me of a teahouse you might see in Bellaire. It's tucked into a small strip center off of Nasa so it took us a second to find, in spite of me being familiar with the area. I ordered the Ca Phe Den straight up and BF got a Ca Phe Love. I loved looking at all of the treats and extensive menu they have while we waited for our coffees to come out. Coffee was excellent, rich and nutty. Not as strong as I was imagining but most definitely not for the faint hearted. I really want to go back to try the pandan leaf tea. If it would open sooner I would make it a point to drive out there fairly regularly. read more

Ca Phe Phin - Phin Love Ca Phe - Vietnamese Near Me - Houston, Texas

I really enjoyed the coffee at Ca Phe Phin! Do keep in mind that they specialize in different preparations of Vietnamese Coffee specifically. So don't expect to find your Macchiatos and Cappuccinos here. I tried the Phin Love Ca Phe House Special (medium strong coffee, delicately sweet, with milk) and it was delicious. It was already sweetened so you didn't have to add anything to it. It was creamy and smooth and sweeter than i'm normally used to in regular coffee, but if you've ever had Cafe Sua Da at any Vietnamese establishment, you'll know that coffee is pretty sweet since they use condensed milk. I also got to try the Herbal Ca Phe which is their low caffeine coffee with cream. This particular drink also had nuts in it, which might seem strange, but its totally delicious with this drink. And this particular drink is recommended served hot. The cafe is small and cozy with an Asian style decor. They also serve tea, smoothies, and have snacks and desserts. The wait staff is friendly and informative and the establishment is clean. It's a little hard to spot off of the main road (Nasa Rd 1) since they're kind of off to the side of the shopping strip, but they're adjacent from the Space Center and next to the Akimi Sushi restaurant. I need to come back when I'm in the area to try their other delicious drinks. read more

Ok so I love the coffee here. It is fresh and delicious. I'd choose the coffee here over all other places in the area for sure. Have not tried any food but I have had the iced coffee as well as the hot and both were awesome. I have to say though get it to go. The staff is friendly and helpful. Some say the place is relaxing but really it is just so boring. Really it's like sitting in a library but without a book. Last time I went there were some "regulars" and they were having a conversation(more like whispering to each other). Of course it is so quite in there I could here every word they were saying and let me tell you it brought dull to a whole nother level. I rushed to finish my coffee to get out just so I did have to jab a sharp object into my ears. read more

Haven't been here in a while, and so glad I decided to visit today. I forgot how cute and quaint of a spot this was. I ordered a cafe sua da, and my mom got a taro milk tea + tapioca. It was $8.88 in total. Super yummy, and so glad that this high quality place is not too far from home. read more

Great little Vietnamese coffee shop in Clear Lake! Ca Phe Phin is definitely worth stopping at if you happen to be in the Clear Lake area looking for coffee during their open hours. I really love their Ca Phe Den black coffee. It's very thick, has a silky mouthfeel, and is loaded with a ton of great coffee flavor. It's very strong, so if you're not a coffee person, it may be a little too strong for you. When I ordered it, the lady behind the counter did warn me it was strong, which is good for someone who might just assume it's the same coffee they might get at a fast food restaurant. A friend got the Phin Love, which was a little too sweet for me to drink normally. I could easily seeing it being a delicious substitute for hot chocolate on a cold night, however! The interior is very cozy and nicely decorated. I love some of the random wooden/log style chairs and benches (I need one of these in my house!). We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, and it was very quiet. I could see this being a great place to read a book for a bit while sipping some great coffee. read more

If you enjoy great quality coffee brewed by great quality people then you should try Ca Phe Phin. If you enjoy average coffee keep going to the chain stores on every corner. As for me, I will stick to Phin. I have not tried a coffee, tea, or smoothie I didnt like. Usually I stick with the ca phe sua especially when I need a nice jolt of caffeine to get through the day, although the herbal coffee is nice as well for the days I need less stimulation of the brain. read more

I have been coming to Ca Phe Phin for years and absolutely love the creamy avocado smoothie always made by the sweetest lady. The tapioca is always so soft and yummy. I have been here twice now. The first visit was on a weekend, at noon, so the place was a little more packed to my liking. If you want to study then, I suggest doing it elsewhere. My second time, I came on a Tuesday morning and it was a more conducive environment for studying. They play nice, mellow music here. The coffee is great. I've only had the ca phe den hot but it's one of the best brewed coffee I've ever had. Strong but not overpowering... And even without extra flavours, it makes for such a delish blend of coffee. I'm yet to try other menu items. The staff here is the best. They greet their regulars by name and chat for a bit. They're attentive and certainly friendly. The place is small with enough inside seating. They're comfy, too. There are books stacked in a shelf, and some board games. There is a $4 minimum for card use! Free wifi is good. The pw is their phone number. Bottomline, this place is a good environment for overall hanging out, studying, or just treating yourself out. I wish they opened earlier AND stayed open later. read more

Still my favorite coffee place outside of Houston. I've been back (several times) and I have tried their bubble tea again. I guess the first time I got bubble tea they were maybe having an off day. All the other times I've gotten bubble tea, with the exception of the first time, it was perfect. I recommend the almond milk tea. It's delicious. I crave it all the time. On another note, the little store can get crowded. If you go in the afternoon there's usually a lot of people but if you go closer to when they close its not as bad. read more

Such a cute and quiet little authentic Vietnamese coffee shop!!! I got the peach green tea with boba and it was delicious! I love the little glass it was brought out in as well. Thank you Yelp for leading me here. I was in the area and wanted a cup of coffee and it seemed the only two places open were Starbucks and Ca Phe Phin. Since there's a SBux on every corner in America, I thought I'd try this place out. It was a little out of sight on the side of a building, so you can't see it from the road. It was super cozy inside and made me wish I was hanging out for a bit instead of getting it to go. There were several groups of people working on projects, chatting, enjoying their time there. The staff member I ordered from was friendly and helpful. I had never had Vietnamese coffee so I asked for guidance. After reviewing the options I opted for #5 - the Chai coffee - iced. I cannot explain how refreshing and yummy this drink was to me. So full of flavor and I enjoyed every last sip. So much better than my Chai tea latte at Starbucks. I'm not down in that area often, but if I was I would certainly frequent this place. Do yourself a favor - pass up Starbucks and give this little coffee shop a go! read more

Ugghhh 4.5 rating? The tapioca is super hard, it seems like they are not cooked yet. I just came from this place and ordered Matcha, Milk tea, Oolong Milk tea and Avocado Slush all with tapioca and disappointed. And also the there are so much ice in the drink. read more

Excellent place for coffee and a wide selections of teas. If your looking for sweet, try the Vietnamese coffee. Sugar and caffeine, always a good combo. My gf brought me here today, and OMGOODNESS I didn't know this was here, but my new FAV place!!! I asked for something not on menu bc I saw all the items on menu...BIG SELECTION, and she made it PERFECTLY!!! So I ordered a salted caramel almond milk latte....OMG!!!! Also I had their macaroons, and I am from France, so very picky about the way the should taste, texture, etc...I gave them a 8, little too crunchy but inside was nice and creamy!!! My gf had lemon bars that looked , and she said, very fresh ( I dont like citrus deserts, but the fruits by themselves, so I cant give you my opinion on those, lol) and tasted amazing! The ambiance was neat, quaint and perfect for a good book!!! I can't wait to bring my Son here and try everything else!!! FYI They have Bubble tea, tapioca looks very fresh too!!!! I also purchased some loose rose tea, will try it tonight!!!! read more

This was a recent find, and I couldn't be happier. The atmosphere and the decorations were beautiful. I was born in Vietnam and it really reminded me of my home country. I hate leaving negative reviews for places that I really want to like and while this place does have delicious Vietnamese coffee, it is way overpriced and the staff is completely lacking in customer service. $4.33 for less than half a cup of hot coffee and when I went back in to ask them about it they said it was because the 'to go' cup is larger than the 'dine in' cup, but honestly they both looked the same size to me. I've been to Ca Phe Phin maybe 4 times now and you get a lot more liquid when you order things iced, but it's all the same price? There's also no paper reward discount when you dine in. I'm honestly just so disappointed. read more

I've only ever had their ca phe sua da but I've had it a lot. Its the namesake - vietnamese slow drip coffee over A TON of condensed milk. Strong and sweet. Its pretty good and worth it if you don't get togo. If you get togo the cup its way smaller than what you would normally get. The atmosphere is very nice and calm if you want to study or have a conversation. That being said, lately it has been drawing a crowd and it can get pretty loud when theres a large group around. The couple who own it are very soft spoken people and welcome me from speaking my broken vietnamese. read more

ok. let's just get something out of the way. i love all things Asian. i love the food. i love the art. the drinks. the language. the soap operas. the spas. i especially love Vietnamese coffee. In fact, i am considering a trip to Vietnam, in part, to bask in the glory of daily Vietnamese coffee for a short period of time. but ALAS, ca phe phin has SAVED me thousands of dollars (for now) by opening their shop in Clear Lake. Their coffee menu is vast. They offer standard western coffees (Lattes, Cappuccinos, etc) and Viet coffee. They also offer their own spins on Vietnamese coffee. They have a huge variety of teas, and smoothies too. don't forget the boba, coffee jelly (YES!) and ice cream (matcha green tea, FTW!!). they have live music occasionally. I would offer 5 stars if they were open earlier when I was on the way to work. they don't open until 9am ): They are closed on Tuesday...why....? Also, if they offered banh mi, i'd be knocked up a star too. (they do have some croissant sandwiches, but i just like the standard banh mi). They do print on their menu that you can call your order in ahead of time and they'll have it ready for you when you pick it up! here's a tidbit for ya: ca phe phin is the metal french drip filter used to make Vietnamese coffee! *rainbow* the more you know!! read more

desserts: 2 stars. drinks: 2.5 stars. prices: 2.5 stars. service: 2 or 4 stars (depending who you get). It's a cute, small, and zen-like coffee place well-hidden behind Akimi Sushi and Stir Fry. To tell the truth, I first came here thinking I'd find Vietnamese food, but no. You will find only desserts, drinks, and croissant sandwiches. Some days you might get live music (which is usually 1 person singing & playing a guitar). They also have free WiFi. 1st Visit: I bought the flan, chocolate eclair, Thai tea frappe, and the croissant with sausage & cheese and paid a total of about $16. The desserts tasted like they were from the local Kroger's. I was not impressed. The Thai tea frappe was too sweet. This is the 1st time anyone has ever RUINED my Thai tea (my fave drink)! 2nd Visit: Rosebud tea. Interesting - it had lots of little rosebuds floating at the top. Interesting taste. I thought it was okay. 3rd Visit: Thai tea. I was not impressed. This is the 2nd time anyone has ever RUINED my Thai tea! Was it real Thai tea or was it just watered down with too much milk? I prefer driving a little further from work to either Thai Spice Express or Thai Cottage for tasty Thai tea with no ice for only $2.95. 4th Visit: Because I am trying hard not to give them 1 or 2 stars, I forced myself to stop by once more, but this time to try their latte ($4) with Hazelnut syrup. Sadly, it tasted like flavored water. :( and on top of that, the place was a little hot inside. My coworker asked if I wanted to stay there to finish our drinks, but it was just too darn hot in there to be sipping hot drinks. I'm sorry. I have been overly nice and trying to come here when they're not having an "off" day, but this is using up too much of my money and time. Oh well....can't please everybody. read more
