After relocating to Santa Barbara years ago, I had always heard raving reviews of Ca' Dario downtown. Still 'til this day I have not made it to that location, however, I HAVE been to the newer Goleta location countless times. Each and every time I have received excellent: -Customer service... The two brothers who work here remember my partner's and my names, plus always smile while carrying on a friendly conversation. -Food... Their food is absolutely spectacular and is easily at the top of my list for Italian cuisine in Santa Barbara County. Deliciousness starts with the appetizers and continues through to dessert. Their seafood dishes are always fresh and pasta cooked perfectly al dente. Oh and their thin crust pizzas are not to be missed either! -Ambiance... Given the strip mall corner unit location, you wouldn't know the interior is as large as it is! They have minimal yet elegant decor, dim lighting, and a lovely outdoor patio with a fountain. Most recently, my family took advantage of Ca' Dario's New Year's Eve pre-fixe meals for $85. It came with a small plate of choice, lasagna, main entree, and an included bottle of Dard wine. Absolutely delicious! Will definitely come again. We had the rib-eye and the sole picatta special. Ribeye was the perfect more rare type of medium-rare, and the sole was incredibly moist yet flaky. The cannellini beans that came with the steak were some of the best beans I've ever tasted, and I really enjoyed having beets as a side with the sole. Trying Italian beer was also fun - the amber ale was both mine and my partner's favorite. Only suggestion for improvement would be warming the bread for the table. read more

Food was delicious, ambiance good. They didn't have what I wanted to order, but I got the ravioli and it was good. Our waiter missed one of the orders, but when he realized it, he prioritized getting it made up and put a bit extra. Also, when a delivery person picked up an order and dropped it, and just picked it up to deliver it, and the manager stops Ed him and told him he can't deliver their food like that. If you like Italian food, this is the place for you! Real authentic Italian dishes served with fresh baked bread with olive oil that has a hint of lemon herbs at the base. I had the pasta with salmon which was primo! I topped it off with bauletto alla fruita, a puffed pastry filled with berries! Magnifico! Wow! This place was amazing, I have a sophisticated palate at least I like to think so ;) I don't know why this place doesn't have 5 stars, don't let it being inside a strip mall near target let you pass judgement like I did. This is true gourmet cooking, like an Italian grandmother if I knew one the flavors were very developed and the chill music in the background added to the ambiance. We had the seafood risotto that had lobster and shrimp so creamy and rich and taste like it cooked for hours. The Bronzino was cooked to protection, with this creamy white wine sauce, the sides of roasted potato, spinach and roasted beets offered the perfect Balance. The kids had a stone oven pizza which had the right amount of char. Def bookmarking this as a pit stop on the way back from SLO to OC .... The staff was lovely and friendly. read more

Yummy! Ordered the Rigatoni Al Pomodoro - which though plain presentation wise - was flavorful and the pasta was perfectly al dente. I also ordered the carpaccio, and this dish was a bit disappointing. The description said raw beef but it was really just prosciutto and it lacked in flavor without the lemon. I visit Goleta quite frequently for work and always think about trying this Italian restaurant. I decided to try a pizza and ordered the Quattro Stagioni pizza. It comes with olives, artichokes, ham and mushroom. However, all the toppings were segregated on the pizza(see the pic). I kid you not, it was not good. The last thing i want is a slice of pizza with nothing but artichokes on it. I don't know if this is how this pizza is supposed to come but I definitely do not prefer it. Quite the diamond in the rough! Surrounded by a laundromat and a chipotle, you wouldn't expect such a magnificent Italian cuisine. This was my first time here and I was truly impressed. I can't pronounce anything on the menu, but they all translate to superb. I tried three of the four of our dishes and was quite impressed. Our waitress and staff gave impeccable service. Our salads were split and drinks were always full. I was extremely impressed with the service and tastiness of our meal. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Great job! read more

The food and service were great, but my margherita pizza had barely any basil on it. I asked for more, and was promptly delivered more. I noticed when I got home that I was charged $1 for the basil, which I wouldn't have had to ask for in the first place if there was an appropriate amount on the pizza. I was looking for a dog friendly place in the area and this showed up during my search. It's in a strip mall near Target and very unassuming from the outside. We were taken to the back patio and the ambience was very nice. The lighting was super dark for dinner and they did have some heat lamps on for guests. We ordered calamari, bolognese, spaghetti and meatballs, and a meat pizza. The food was decent and everything came out quickly. I shared the pasta with my mom and it was a good portion for the both of us. I'd consider going here again if I'm staying in the area and have my dogs with me. read more

Ordered a Spinach Tagliatelle Bolognese the other day for takeout and I have to unfortunately say, although it was not bad, it was not the best either. Priced at $23, it's on the higher end for Italian food prices, yet it was underwhelming. The worst part is that it seemed like the chef forgot to season the dish with a fundamental ingredient... salt. Nevertheless, the bolognese sauce was rich and creamy. I really am not one to leave a poor review, but we had horrible service at Ca'Dario Goleta last week. I had purposely sought out a nice restaurant that would have a private room to host my mom's 84th birthday dinner for 8 people. She doesn't hear very well and speaks very softly due to a sickness, so I had heard Ca'Dario's private room would be a good place. I called about a month and a half beforehand, spoke with the manager, and asked him about the private room for the celebration. I asked to book it and he even took my credit card to reserve it. Last week, my 23-year-old daughter showed up first for our celebration . I'm not sure if he didn't listen to her because of her age, but when we arrived our group was seated in the entryway, right next to the bar in a very loud area. When I arrived and told him we had booked the private room, he didn't apologize, and instead he started to argue with me in front of my 84 year old parents. He said that he had taken the reservation and there was nothing in the books about reserving that room, even though I know I spoke with him about it . He was very unprofessional, not only to not have written down the reservation correctly, or even to try to adjust us to a better spot, but choosing to argue in front of my parents. To top it off, he decided to be our server, and unfortunately with a group of eight, he automatically added a 20% tip. And, he didn't even give us enough place settings and we had to flag down a busboy I will never go to this restaurant again. Being a long time Santa Barbara local, this makes me sad. read more

Ca'Dario has been my most frequented restaurant for takeout during the lockdown. Their pizzas are the most delicious and authentic in Goleta! I'm very happy to finally have a decent Italian restaurant that is relatively close. The pick up process is super easy. I've also used the delivery service and it was almost always prompt. read more

Wrapping up a perfect evening here as I type. Atmosphere was festive and inviting the week after Christmas, and every staff member we interacted with was as warm and welcoming as the atmosphere. Truly...service was absolutely stellar and I'm perplexed by any review that insinuated otherwise. Traditional Italian menu at the top of its game. I had the pennette al salmone - the silken dill cream sauce was the perfect complement to the smokiness of the tender salmon. Husband had the whole roasted branzino and found it to be succulent and fork-tender. Daughters had the bolognese with spinach tagliatelle and could not stop raving about it. Bolognese is their absolute favorite thing I make at home and we all agreed that Ca'Dario's rendition was superlative (read: definitely better than mine!) - prepared with love and so comfortingly delicious. I had a wonderful lunch at Ca' Dario today! It was my second time eating here and it was wonderful. My friend took me here to celebrate my 21st birthday and our server, Chuy, was awesome - very attentive despite our odd hour dining in, and kind enough to bring a complimentary second glass of the wine I'd ordered when I mentioned it was my birthday. He was also very accommodating of my rather strange request to take a photo of the bottle of wine I had so I could try to track it down online later. As far as food, the complimentary bread brought out first was delicious - nice and soft, served with olive oil and balsamic on the side. My friend ordered the ravioli al burro e salvia, or spinach ricotta ravioli served in a browned butter sage sauce; the ravioli was wonderfully creamy without being too heavy, and the sauce was delightful. I ordered the penne alla boscaiola (pasta with porcini mushrooms, bacon, and tomato cream sauce), which also did not disappoint; it was a perfect serving size for lunch, too, as I was just about stuffed when I'd finished. A great experience overall! Top-notch, friendly service and delicious food, on top of being the closest Italian restaurant to UCSB, make this by far and away somewhere I'll be coming back to more in the future. read more

I will never go to this restaurant ever again in my life. I got the soup and they left bay leaves in it. I took most of the pieces out but one got stuck in my throat. Then I couldn't get it out until the next day. The owner thought it was not a big deal and said my food would be free and then when the check came it was 20 percent off. I literally went to the restroom to throw up to try to get the bay leave out but had no luck. The next day I didn't feel it but no I do not think this is fine dining because the least you could do is take the bay leaf/ leaves out of your soup and stick to your word. read more

Last week my friend and I went into CaDario in Goleta. Just wanted to say our server was really great. She made our dining experience very enjoyable. The only thing that was concerning was a women who we found to be the manager. We overheard her speaking to the table next to us and she sounded very rude when speaking to them. She was also rude to us and the host who was seating us... We also then overheard her being rude and very disrespectful to our server and other staff, she was very abrasive and quite frankly, very inappropriate. It made my friend and I very uncomfortable to see a manager treat her staff so poorly. I know it was busy at the time but we believed that our server and the rest of the staff were all doing a great job under the busy circumstances. My friend and I felt so bad for our server that we asked the name of the manager. We were told her name was Sofia. Overall, food was great, service was great but nobody should be treated the way that manager (Sofia) treated her staff. read more

Came for a dinner for two. Took so long to be noticed and there wasn't anyone tending to us while we stood in the front as well. When we finally got hold of a waiter he sat us down and then we ordered the caprese, vongole and a margherita pizza. The caprese was doused in olive oil instead of balsamic vinaigrette so that threw me off. I don't know Italian cuisine all that much but I thought it should've been the vinaigrette. The pizza was also very oily. A thin crust pizza topped with olive oil if I must. The vongole was pretty clean. Then on top of this per the waiter's recommendation we additionally ordered the ravioli that is "so delicious that we would say OMG!". It was also very oily. You can tell in the pictures. Food tasted ok, but just not my favorite way to eat any of the dishes that I'm used to. read more

An update, since we hadn't been to Ca' Dario since the pandemic. 4 of ate here Friday for lunch. The C'a Dario chopped salad was rated excellent. The ravioli as well. A panini with portabello, olives, etc was rated very good. I had the Pacific salmon. It was properly done, but without any sauce so not to my taste, and came with a huge gob of boiled spinach, which I didn't care for. I think this was my error; I didn't really question what the dish was. I much prefer the planked salmon at Jane, or the former Pepe's grilled salmon with a mango salsa. All that said, I still give it four stars. Service was good and attentive, atmosphere nice. A bit pricy, but good quality. read more
