I took my son to C and S Sporting Goods to get tackle football gear. We were immediately greeted and directed to the football gear. This is in regards to the camping and fishing stuff. Personally a bit over priced. For used equipment I'm hoping to pay 50% less than new honestly and most of the stuff is about the price you can get it on amazon. I like local places like this though and I definitely like reusing stuff instead of getting new everything. Still they had a couple of things that I may have purchased if I were in the market for it, reasonably priced canopy tent. If they had more used stuff and dropped prices another 20-30% on the used inventory I would probably go there regularly. read more

This place is awesome, I found nearly every single thing i needed for my son to take to Boy Scout Camp and the prices were very reasonable, the staff was extra nice, too....you wont believe how many sports they cover and the selection was excellent and covered a variety of price ranges for beginners thru pro. They are also open 7 days a week. I was pleasantly surprised by this locally, family owned store and glad I went there first, I know I will go there again and I would refer my friends and family there as well. I recently came in to purchase baseball equipment for my two sons after seeing the news story on the selection of new and used equipment. Let me say this is one of the coolest shops I think I've ever been in. They have new and used for every sport, at every price point!!! The selection was crazy. I also liked that I could trade in my kids cleats, baseball pants for store credit. We saved a ton of money and even got a baseball bag that I thought we didn't have the budget for because we saved so much on shoes and the great used gloves we got. The staff was super helpful and friendly and put us in a rewards program so we can earn points towards future purchases at no cost!! We will keep coming back as long as my kids keep growing. C & S is a treasure trove of slightly used (and new)sporting goods and equipment. My toddler was showing interest in golf, so we came looking for some tiny golf clubs. We don't need a silly plastic set! I really wasn't expecting much or that I would find a toddler golf set. Boy was I surprised! The store IS tightly packed with things, but it is organized by sport. There is a large selection of golf equipment, shoes, and accessories. We were even able to try out some putters on a little putting green. We actually found a full set of golf clubs with bag for my toddler. This is a great place if you or your kids want to try a sport, but are not yet fully committed to it. I also made note to come here first for off season activities. There is so much barely used items it seems silly to buy brand new. You can also bring in some of your own sporting equipment for in store credit. read more

Went in today because I found myself in the neighborhood. They have a really large selection of training equipment both used and new. The prices however are not really all that great. They have 45 lb bumper plates and want $95 each. You can find these new for $1.35 per pound so they are over priced. They are charging .60 cents a pound for used weight going price at other places that sale used equipment is only .50 cents per pound. When I brought that to the attention of Chad the owner he said he sales his rusted and miss matched weight for that price or less. However the ones available elsewhere are in just as good condition as the ones he is selling. I'd say check Craigslist first before you spend all your money at one place. read more

I reviewed their website and saw quite a few used women's lacrosse sticks and decided it was worth the drive. Get there and I am told that ALL of the women's lacrosse stuff has been packed up and is in storage (May 7) because they are opening in a new location on June 1. So they had nothing to sell... What they should've done is removed the lacrosse section of items from their website or at least listed the items as out of stock until they actually had them back for sale. Totally disappointed. Buying used is already a hassle, but this makes it more so. Much easier to just order the item new and have it shipped to me, even if it means paying a little more. At least I wouldn't be wasting my time and gas driving around a crappy area of Phoenix. Really they deserve a 1 star review for this, but since they are a small business and the young kid who greeted me was genuinely nice, I left three. read more

These guys are great! They treat their customers like friends. I have been in before to pick up some hockey equipment for a good deal. I realized I needed some legs guards for a game that same night. I was coming from the gym so I did not have my wallet and did not have time to get it before they closed. After I found the guards I wanted they told me to take them and I could come back and pay later. Its businesses like these that deserve support from the community and neighborhood. I walked in to C&S Sporting Goods based on the outstanding reviews they have here on Yelp. I was looking for a treadmill. They had a selection of five or six used treadmills on display in the front of the store. I asked the salesperson, Joe, at the counter, and he was very knowledgeable about the unit. He also didn't pressure me at all. He simply made some comparisons between that treadmill and some of the more expensive and less expensive units that they have on the floor. When I decided to make the purchase, they were very up front about all of the other costs involved. They recommended that I buy a floormat, and they were very clear that if I wanted it delivered, it would be an extra $75. I understood before my sale was even rung up exactly what I would have to pay out of pocket to get this behemoth of a machine into my living room. Two months later, I've decided that I need to post a review. I love it when locally owned companies go the extra mile for their customers. Maybe that's just par-for-the-course for C&S Sporting Goods, but after the delivery folks left my home, I truly felt like they valued me as a customer. Since my experience, I have recommended C&S to a couple of friends who have kids who play sports. I do not understand why people with kids would want to buy new for most sporting gear because kids outgrow that stuff so fast. One of my friends went to get a batting helmet and baseball spikes for his son. One of my other friends went to get some soccer cleats for her son. To the best of my knowledge, they were both treated very well in the store. My bottom line is, if you treat me well as a customer, I will bring more business your way. This is one of those little retail gems you love to have pop up in your neighborhood--a useful, local business run by good, friendly folks. I had the pleasure of meeting Chad & Sarah (the C&S of their name) on my first visit, and they were extremely nice and surprisingly knowledgeable about the sports equipment they were selling. The quality of the equipment is very good and the prices very fair. Used sporting goods stores are generally not the place you walk into to find something specific, yet on my visit Chad & Sarah had exactly what I needed (a stand golf bag for walking) at the price I was hoping for. That they also gave me good trade value for several golf clubs I brought to them made the transaction an absolute slam dunk (or rather, a true "hole in one"). Simply put, thanks to their friendly service, good prices and considerable selection, I would be nuts not to shop C&S first whenever I have a sporting goods need. And as a golfer and dad of two future sports stars (haha), that means I'm looking forward to plenty of regular visits! read more

They seem to have a good selection of used sporting goods on hand. However most of the hockey gear was in poor used condition - worthy of the trash can, odorous, and poorly displayed. I love having this place so close to my house. My husband and I walked there yesterday and I picked up a jump rope and a 10lb medicine ball for 35 bucks total. I am going back again today (with the truck) to get a bench, a stepper platform thingy and a chest press bar. Wish I had a whole room in the house for just gym stuff. Going to have to get creative with where I will put these things. This place seems to have everything for almost every sport. It even has a skateboard-ski thing which is like a board on the top but instead of wheels it has four mini-skis. Good selection of cleats, wrestling shoes (didn't know there was such a thing), and other sports shoe types. Has steppers, treadmills, ellipticals, gym exercise machines, dumbbells, and tons more. This is a decently-sized store with lots of used and new items. I went in looking for a cheapie snowboard set that I can learn on without having to rent every time. The owner/manager and the employees there are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They worked within my budget, were easy to talk to, and didn't try to upsell me at all. I was able to find a great board, bindings, and boots at very reasonable prices. I'm definitely coming back here if/when it comes time for an upgrade. read more

For most sporting goods it's nice to have a neighborhood place to go to. I went to C &S to find cleats for my 7year old to play flag football. As many of you know, kids this age play for 8 or 10 weeks then outgrow their cleats while they're still basically new. I went to C&S where I purchased a used pair that looked brand new for $11 and best of all, when my son is done playing football, I can "sell" them back to C&S. Great idea for a sporting goods place where you can get new and used goods. I'll check here first before going to a big chain sporting goods store. read more

I was in today to trade in my son's hockey skates and even though I decided to keep them I was more than impressed by the quality of customer service. They took time to research and try to find the most fair price for my skates and then explain the different options for payment. It seems like they really cared in finding me a great deal! A few months ago, I was looking for a treadmill. I checked several stores, then came to Yelp. I called the this store, and talked to Chad for quite a while. He knew what equipment they had, and seemed to know all the features of each one. I went in, tried, and chose a treadmill in less than 15 minutes. He was so helpful, the delivery price was great, and I had the treadmill in no time! Now that I've had the treadmill and been using it for a while, I am still very pleased.
