The biggest reason you should hire them (and I absolutely acknowledge I'm an old man yelling "get off my lawn!" here) is "honesty and integrity." These guys come from the old school of standing by your work and letting it speak for itself. My wife really wanted a fridge with an ice maker but the house we moved into didn't have a water line for that. I was trying to get an idea of what it would cost to have one installed so we could decide whether it was within our budget so we could pick a fridge and move forward with our lives. You would seriously not believe how hard that was. I made it abundantly clear to everyone I talked to that I knew they couldn't give me a binding estimate without actually seeing the project, and I begged for just a guess at a range...would this be somewhere between $200 - $2,000, am I looking at more like $10,000? Am I going to need another mortgage for this? I talked to probably 20 different handymen. 19 of them pretended they had no idea what it might cost and wouldn't even give a ballpark or a range without sending someone into my home so they could use their high-pressure sales tactics to make sure they got my business. They had either never done a job like this before, in which case I didn't want them, or they were lying to me, in which case I also didn't want them. Mike and Mike were the exact opposite. I asked what they expected it would cost, and they made their best guess and gave me a range of the top and bottom end based on really hard or really easy jobs. They were super flexible and easy to work with, and when the job was done they came in at the very bottom end of what they had estimated. They were on time, quick, super respectful, and my wife is smiling ear-to-ear. So yeah, there's plenty of handymen you could hire who will probably do a great job. On December 1, 2025, our entire house was destroyed in a catastrophic flood. We had just moved into our newly remodeled turn-key home 5 years previously and still loved everything about it. To say we were shell shocked and devastated would be putting it mildly. Our home was now in ruins. Bathrooms, cabinetry, flooring, drywall were all destroyed and our home was basically unlivable. We were down to studs and raw plumbing. We immediately began to search for the perfect contractor to help us rebuild our home and put our lives back together. We reviewed multiple contractors online and in person, as well as checking with the Nevada Contractors Board and local permitting offices. One name consistently stood out and was above all others. Jerezee Construction. They had hundreds of 5-star reviews which led me to review their gallery of photos on their website. Their quality of work caught my attention. I reached out to their office and spoke to Ian. We found him to be very professional. He immediately set up an appointment and was incredibly empathetic to our plight. The way he handled our initial contact was so different from other companies we contacted. The next step in our journey was meeting the owner Ilan who arrived at our home to assess the damage. It was quickly apparent this was an experienced and highly qualified contractor. He demonstrated exceptional standards, made suggestions, was extremely organized but above all else inspired confidence that he could help us. He reviewed the contract with us line by line, leaving no stone unturned and highly transparent with clear expectations. No hidden fees, and no surprises. Once the project began, a group text was established. This was updated twice daily throughout the project to keep us informed. We next met Heather, one of Jerezee's designers. Heather quickly recognized we were in over our head and inundated with so many decisions and choices to make. She took the lead and helped us make selections on flooring, bathroom tiles, color palates, hardware, lighting fixtures and paint. She made a comprehensive material list which was amazing. Heather was invaluable to us. She was so patient, knowledgeable and held my hand through every step. Both my husband and I are analytical with no creative bone in our body so doing the design part and picking out product was impossible for us. We couldn't have done this rebuild without her. We were assigned a project manager named David. He was the first line supervisor for all the crew and sub-contractors at our home. He was incredibly responsive, timely, accessible, patient, upbeat and positive always. He made a highly stressful period of our life bearable and was such a joy to work with. He was the right man, at the right time, at the right place for us. As the work progressed it quickly became apparent that all their rave reviews were justified. Construction started exactly as planned and they made the process so easy for us. They handled EVERYTHING! Their craftmanship was impeccable. It was as if they were rebuilding their own house. Ilan, the owner was often on site inspecting the work and the progress. Ilan and David were true perfectionists, and nothing escaped their skilled eyes. At the end of the project, we didn't even have a punch list! Their crew and subcontractors were always polite, respectful, professional and kind. To be honest I was a little hesitant just going with the first and only company that someone refers, but Nikolai is a reliable professional who wants to be sure that the customer will be 200% happy, so I trusted him. And ignore the low rating reviews on here- they're from two years ago and since there are not many reviews yet, of course they will make a bigger impact on the overall rating. Those reviews worried me a little at first but businesses can improve, and I had no problems at all. Working with Tina and Dean was pleasant and their work team did an exceptional job. They were punctual and worked very fast! They got here at 7 and did such quick work removing the existing pavers in the backyard, that I seriously thought the ones they were setting aside were more pavers they brought themselves, because only five minutes had passed! The job consisted of removing pavers and then stacking them in our courtyard, setting some pipes up along the side of our yard that leads to the courtyard, and then preparing and setting a decent size concrete patio that also extended out along the house for the bbq area. We opted for a smooth finish and it looks really nice so far. I will add photos once we are able to walk out on it. Dean was also very understanding of a communication mix up I had with my husband about payment (we thought the job would take longer than a day and didn't have the funds/check ready for them to cash in the same day) and was okay with the solution for payment-had no bad vibe from him about it or anything negative. After they left I had a couple questions (Which honestly would probably annoy anyone because they seemed to annoy my husband ) about the patio and they were quick to respond and explain. Another plus, is that when we exchanged emails on July 14th about the start date being on July 20th, I asked Tina if there's any chance to start sooner because I might have to deliver my baby early and want as much done earlier than later. The reason for that- We had to have the patio completed before the rest of the backyard project can start, and have to wait at least ten days that Advantage Landscaping suggests before they can begin without causing damage walking on the patio with heavy equipment. The next afternoon I heard from Nikolai that they could start on July 16th! I had no idea about that until he told me, which leads me to the only only thing that I think could use some improvement- just communicating directly with the homeowner more even if another party/company is involved.
