First off, Tim (the owner) and his foreman, Caesar, are top-notch. Tim always responded quickly to my text messages about the job and any concerns I may have had. I've had my driveway redone five times since moving into this house in 2008, and this crew has been the most professional and eager to make sure I was happy. Day one, they pressure-washed all the old paint off. Day two, they started applying the color. Each time they added a layer, I went out to check how it looked until I was fully satisfied. That night, I noticed a few small spots in different lighting that needed touching up, so the next morning...before they applied the polyurethane; I showed Caesar what I wanted fixed. He was very accommodating and genuinely wanted me to be happy with the final result. They protected all the areas around the job space with tape and paper, neatly pushed back all the rock around from the cement they were working on, sweeped and cleaned up maticusly all the paint chips from pressure washing the driveway. I didn't have to do a thing in regards to clean up after they left. Also, another tip, when you have this kind of work done, the sun here in Vegas kills the color on the driveway. Tim advised me to have the polyurethane reapplied every 2-3 years to extend the life color. I never knew that was even an option! My advice for anyone hiring them is to stay involved in the process. They can't read your mind, so if something doesn't look right, speak up while they're still there. It's much easier to adjust things in the moment than after the job is complete. As a business owner, Tim has to manage both quality and time, so your feedback during the project helps him deliver the best results efficiently. To say the least, I'm beyond please with their work and professionalism throughout the job. In addition, the price was more than fair! They are the ones I will call from now on for this kind of work! To be honest I was a little hesitant just going with the first and only company that someone refers, but Nikolai is a reliable professional who wants to be sure that the customer will be 200% happy, so I trusted him. And ignore the low rating reviews on here- they're from two years ago and since there are not many reviews yet, of course they will make a bigger impact on the overall rating. Those reviews worried me a little at first but businesses can improve, and I had no problems at all. Working with Tina and Dean was pleasant and their work team did an exceptional job. They were punctual and worked very fast! They got here at 7 and did such quick work removing the existing pavers in the backyard, that I seriously thought the ones they were setting aside were more pavers they brought themselves, because only five minutes had passed! The job consisted of removing pavers and then stacking them in our courtyard, setting some pipes up along the side of our yard that leads to the courtyard, and then preparing and setting a decent size concrete patio that also extended out along the house for the bbq area. We opted for a smooth finish and it looks really nice so far. I will add photos once we are able to walk out on it. Dean was also very understanding of a communication mix up I had with my husband about payment (we thought the job would take longer than a day and didn't have the funds/check ready for them to cash in the same day) and was okay with the solution for payment-had no bad vibe from him about it or anything negative. After they left I had a couple questions (Which honestly would probably annoy anyone because they seemed to annoy my husband ) about the patio and they were quick to respond and explain. Another plus, is that when we exchanged emails on July 14th about the start date being on July 20th, I asked Tina if there's any chance to start sooner because I might have to deliver my baby early and want as much done earlier than later. The reason for that- We had to have the patio completed before the rest of the backyard project can start, and have to wait at least ten days that Advantage Landscaping suggests before they can begin without causing damage walking on the patio with heavy equipment. The next afternoon I heard from Nikolai that they could start on July 16th! I had no idea about that until he told me, which leads me to the only only thing that I think could use some improvement- just communicating directly with the homeowner more even if another party/company is involved. But, everything worked out and the job was done well without any issues. Great owners and their work team is outstanding! Thank you!

I'm so sorry that this review is 2 years overdue but I can't recommend Brown Masonry and Mr. Brown…read moreenough. Yelp really came through with this find. It was nice dealing with a veteran owned business that feels really personal with a hands on owner. For some stupid reason 1 side of my wall was basically missing a row of blocks. I've always HATED that my neighbor and I could stare into each other's patio doors without trying. I never wanted to offend him by asking to build the wall up but I took advantage to bring it up as they were moving out. He said yeah he hated it too so go for it. He's on the HOA board so my architectural request got approved within days and the search for a mason began. I got a bunch of responses to my Yelp project request with some saying they don't do small jobs like mine, some crazy quotes of 2k (assume that was F off pricing). Luckily Mr. Brown responded with an incredibly fair quote after I sent details and photos and I think he stopped by the next morning to drop off samples to make sure the colors matched. We got it scheduled pretty quickly and his in person quote was a little lower than the text quote, which has never happened before. It really says what a good and honest person you're dealing with. His guy came out on time, was nice and did a great job. The only issue was that I didn't think I had to mention the mortar should match the existing not match the block color. I didn't pay attention and only caught it after it was done. Mr Brown came out to take a look and his suggestion was to cover the brown mortar with grey. It's not an exact match (I knew it wouldn't be) but it's good enough and I really appreciate his quick response.
