For us, it was one of those life luxuries that had to wait as it was not a necessity in our earlier days. In doing my research for this project (which by the way was a surprise Father's Day gift), I looked for a reputable company and wanted to make sure that I would have no regrets in my selection - after all, in conducting my research, I realized that this project would cost a pretty penny and then some and it was one of those things that you simply cannot return if one is unhappy with the end result. I called several companies surrounding the Queen Creek, AZ area and each one already had good reviews and high ratings. I spoke and exchanged communications with 4 companies and 2 were quite pushy and aggressive sending texts and leaving voice mails for me to make a decision. One was just so highly priced that it almost made this gift unattainable! When I reached out to Gecko Flooring, the call was returned by Jacob. A very warm, kind spoken person who actually listened to what I was trying to achieve and understood that I had never had such work done before but yet, he took the time to explain the service they provided and the steps taken to ensure that I felt comfortable and understood their process. After explaining to him that this was a surprise father's day gift that was to be "gifted" after father's day as our home was not completed until father's day week, he understood the assignment. Actually, he was the only company that understood how important this was for me to pull off such a surprise for my husband. The other 3 companies either didn't care one bit or they were just interested in closing the deal. Since my husband and just happened to want to surprise each other, my husband also happened to reach out to Gecko Flooring to request a quote. Unbeknownst to Jacob initially, he made an appointment to meet with him. However, I was fortunate enough to find out about the appointment and alerted Jacob who, again, was so very kind in wanting to see this surprise through that he took the time to play his part in showing up to complete the appointment with my husband and help me pull off the great surprise for father's day. I'm hoping the pictures can show just how wonderful the work by Gecko Flooring has been. It's been almost 2 weeks now since the project was completed and we are beyond happy with the end result. The colors that are offered are plentiful but we were able to select one that complimented the pavers and accents stones used on our new home. The color we chose is called California Gray - it has the blends of grays, tans, off white and just a tad bit of black. We have it installed in our RV garage and 2 car garage here in hot but beautiful QC area. It does not show the dust easily and the texture from the flakes allows the floors to NOT be slippery when wet. The attention to detail in the install is to be commended because both my husband and I are very picky with seams and edges. I've provided photos of the seams and the edges in a couple of the photos to show just how attentive to detail the installers were for Gecko Flooring. Jacob even suggested the area where the water softener would eventually be placed to be done as well so that all looked uniform in the garage with respect to the floors and also that the area where base boards would go were also covered (thank you for allowing my brain to not go crazy by just going to the floor's edge!). I would most definitely recommend them to anyone interested in needing such service. We LOVE our garage floors and can't thank Jacob and his crew for the end result and the great supporting acting Jacob played during the entire process of surprising my husband (thanks Jacob!!!!) And, we may just be calling Jacob again in the upcoming months to do our back patio flooring!

I regret choosing this contractor for my kitchen countertop installation. While their prices were…read morevery affordable (a big factor in my decision), it turned out to be a costly mistake. Initially, they were efficient and communicative, and I was optimistic. However, the quartz they installed has been a nightmare. We selected a white quartz based on pictures they provided. Within weeks of installation, the so-called "quartz" started showing major quality issues. The main reasons we chose quartz--its supposed resistance to scratches, heat, and stains--were completely absent. Stains appeared almost immediately and won't come out, even with professional polishers and cleaning solutions. Scratches occurred from something as simple as a barstool rubbing against it. To make matters worse, there's a visible line in one section of the quartz where it looks like it could break. What makes this even more frustrating is that budget was never discussed as a limitation. I could understand if we'd told them we needed to stay within a certain price range, but that wasn't the case. They came, measured, gave us a price, and then simply asked what color granite we wanted and if we preferred veins. There was no disclosure about quality differences or the option to upgrade to a higher grade of quartz. I reached out to the contractor multiple times, after trying to find my own solution for working with and on the countertop, I reached by phone and text over a month in August, trying to address the issues. After no response, I finally sent a detailed email explaining the problems and requesting a copy of our contract. The contractor eventually replied, acknowledged the issues, and claimed quartz shouldn't wear like this. She said she'd contact the supplier--but I had to follow up several more times to get any updates. When she finally responded, she gave us our contract but stated her company wasn't liable for the poor-quality quartz. She directed us to the supplier, despite admitting she had already spoken to them and was told this was "general wear and tear." Frustrated, we hired a new contractor to evaluate the quartz. They confirmed it was quartz but stated it was a very low-quality grade. Replacing it would cost us $6,000-$10,000, or we'd have to live with the subpar countertops. At no point during the process were we given options for higher-quality granite or told that what was being installed was a budget-tier material. The contractor acted as though we had personally selected and purchased the granite ourselves, when in reality, we trusted her to provide a quality product. While the installation itself was passable (aside from a visible cut line), the overall experience was incredibly disappointing. The poor communication, lack of transparency, and unwillingness to stand by the product make this contractor one I cannot recommend. If I'd known we could hire them for just the installation and shop around for better quartz ourselves, I would have. This was an expensive lesson in why "affordable" isn't always worth it. Avoid this contractor if you want quality materials and honest communication.

Quality and thoroughness needs to be shown in a higher regard. There was the language barrier, but…read moreI feel like they didn't even ask me what kind of fabricating I needed. It was just the general, nonspecified, generic cuts at the length I had previously requested via text, but some things that they could've /should've asked me would've included finding out if the sink in the bathroom slab should be centered or remain where it was in the old slab. And if they would've had any trouble changing out sinks to have the new sink faucet working they should definitely inform the homeowner that there will be nothing hooked up underneath at all and that's how they left the kitchen and my bathroom! Worse off, in the guest bathroom, he even took it an extra step and noticed that there was a water leak, even though the water was shut off and instead of trying to get to the origin of the problem, he literally just didn't mention the leak until I NOTICED IT, after he was able to hightail it out of there and just left it all leaking underneath my sink and onto the floor. I didn't notice until there's a big puddle of water accumulating within 10 minutes. And now that I think about it, every time I walked past the guest bathroom he was using a towel to mop up the floor, but I didn't know why and now I know why! It was about 10 minutes after they left that was flooding out from underneath my sink, adding all sorts of water damage to my cabinets. So then I had to get someone in there to help me reconfigure underneath my kitchen sink that was a soft water system and make sure that was all correct and somebody else to help me out with the bathroom sinks and laying all new plumbing with new Ptraps and hoses for under each one of those with installation.... But wait, there's more..... My son had offered them his expensive tub and tile caulk if they wanted to use it and they said 'no no we we have a good good caulk' and so we kind of shrugged it off until after they left ... and they left their bucket here on accident filled with water with their caulk and caulking guns still tossed in the water. Every single one of the three caulks they had used for fitting in my 3 sinks was a cheap-o window and door trim caulk!!!!! And not only did they turn my son down to use his good supplies for free, but they in turn, went and used the diametrically wrong stuff for the wrong application!!! And I had to dig out all of the wrong caulk from each one of my three sinks, just to re-caulk each one of them MYSELF (with 100% waterproof bathroom-rated appropriate caulk). I have also enclosed pictures of what I had discovered when I was bending over and mopping up the flood that had become my guest bathroom after they left. I happened to gaze my head upwards while crouching down and noticed that I could see under an into my cabinets, even though the cabinet doors were closed. They just put giant slabs of porcelain that I had picked out on top of little witches that were about 2 inches wide that help the counter remain on top and float. But between these wedges, it's a space that I could quite easily slip my finger or even part of my hand through so I could essentially be outside of the cabinet get inside and under the cabinet at the same time without opening the cabinets. That seemed way off and ugly, so I'm gonna have to find little pieces of wood and wedge it out around so I can close that space out like if they had more of those wedges and put them closer together than they could literally just fill it full of caulk or mortar or something to create a seal. The craziest thing is that these people came highly rated by yelp and were even backed by yelps insurance program, which I am now get to rate and see if I will have to Yelp on Yelp. Because this was unacceptable! Plus, there's like 2 mini stains that there's no way I can get them out of my white, fabricated, quartz countertops! They look like cigarette burns on the side that I noticed when the guys left and I'm not sure what that's from. When they were all done and left, I noticed I now had huge amounts of whitish chalk dust all over my driveway and common sidewalk area. I know that cutting the slabs creates dust but I mean ask for a broom if you don't have one to sweep up the remainder before you leave maybe? Just the work that I had to have done after they left because of what they did or didn't do, and the re-caulking of the sinks after I had to literally dig out the other caulk was just horrible and time wasting and I wouldn't recommend them. They did have a good price and if they wouldn't have been yelp back, I wouldn't have picked them, but seeing as this has taken a long time to write up, I'm not sure if I will get reverse any money from Yelp for this.

Our backyard patio stamped concrete surface was looking horrible... a dull, pasty grey mess…read more Contacted Jacob at Rock Star Coatings for an estimate along with a few other companies. Rock Star had the best price of everyone I contacted. I know that often times you get what you pay for but in this case it was money well spent! There were a couple different options on how to do the restain/seal depending on which company you went with. Rock Start starts by spraying a light primer coat and then after it dries they spray a color stain on it. This works really well with stamped concrete as the little differences in texture allow for the stain to pool a little which makes it look like natural stone. Afterwards they apply the sealer which protects everything and gives it a slight gloss look. Once they finished it looked really nice but just wait.... a day or two later the richness of the color really came out. We are very happy with the results and would recommend Jacob & Javier to anyone wanting to liven up their patio floor. Just an FYI... in the pics I uploaded you can barely see a section of our pool deck (which we did not do anything with!). This was very similar to the color of our patio before Rock Star did their magic!

I had our pool deck and patio coated by Galaxy 3 years ago. About a year ago I notices that the top…read morecoating was not holding up and eventually the coating started flaking off the cement in places. We have a 15 year warranty, so I was surprised that there were obvious defects this early. I called Galaxy and was directed to Nick. I played phone tag with him for about a week. When we connected by phone, Nick set up an appointment to come and look at our concerns. Surprisingly, Nick agreed there was a problem with the UV layer/topcoat. He advised me that they should take full responsibility and replace the entire pool decking and patio coating based on his assessment. He noted that the chemical company had to change the composition of the topcoat to withstand the Arizona sun. Nick submitted the warranty work and it was approved in about a week. Nick schedules a time/date to perform the work. I am once again very happy with the results. If you decide to use Galaxy ask for Jorge's crew. The job was scheduled for 2 days. Jorge and two other gentlemen got to work and knocked it out in 1 day. It was easy to see that Jorge was very detailed and did not cut corners with the quality of work. The pool was left very clean and they vacuumed my turf and even the landscape rock around the pool. The reason we initially decided to use Galaxy was because we had a lackluster pool contractor that didn't cure our concrete properly and it cracked immediately. Approximately 50% of the pool deck concrete was replaced by order of the ROC. The other 50% was not replaced because the cracking did not fall outside the quality guidelines. Galaxy treated the cracks and filled them to improve the longterm appearance of the pool deck. I am not delusional to believe that the cracks will not eventually return, but I appreciate the process of "repairing" them. The Galaxy coating is unbelievably cool on the feet compared to just about any other surface I have encountered. We researched pavers, travertine, Kool deck, and several others before going with Galaxy. Although Galaxy is not the most reasonable or most expensive, I see the value in their product. I will have to see how the new coating withstands the Arizona summers, but for now, I am very satisfied.

So we had to have them come back out to clean up better and touch up few areas. We paid premium because our project was small and they have a minimum fee. So over all we were not impressed. Definitely look at all options with other companies.

This was my first experience with a re-construction company where EVERYTHING went as was described up-front - no shortcuts - no surprises (except from our side, as additional needs came up.) Bonus points for loving on our two elderly dogs who kept them company for the week+ of work.
