I'm constantly looking for the perfect laid-back/not a sit-down restaurant place to grab some breakfast and coffee that isn't a corporate chain. Sure, I know what I like at Starbuck's/Einstein's/Dazbog, and it's consistent, but local, small business is much tastier and happier. :) I stopped by Buzz Cafe after driving by several times and always being curious. I got an iced americano and a spicy bacon breakfast burrito. The americano was delicious, as was the burrito. It was super spicy, although I am a bit of a wiener when it comes to spicy things. The americano effectively quelled the flames. Good mix! I liked the feel of the place, too. Comfy and quiet, and not such a hipster vibe that most coffee shops offer. I live about a block away from Buzz and I love the options they have. Breakfast burritos, pastries, and non-dairy choices. Their almond milk is quality, although I will say that a few times I've had a hot almond milk latte, they have burned the milk pretty badly and I can't bear to drink it. Hence, three stars. That said, their iced almond milk latte is spot on. I also love that they have a drive-through. Makes it easy and dangerous on the way to work in the morning. They are also open by 6 on weekdays. I drive past the Buzz Cafe almost daily and have always wanted to try it. Finally, during a weekend when I had the time, I drove down for an iced drink. So, it was not exactly the vibe I had imagined. It felt more like a gas station/convenience store rather than a coffee shop. It's cool that it's a local little family-run place (I'm assuming anyway...which already makes it 100 times better than Starbucks) but the coffee (my boyfriend's) and the tea (that was me!) was not anything to jump up and down about...at all. Service was friendly though... I would recommend it if you are on the go and already driving down 6th so it's convenient...otherwise I am not sure I would go out of my way to stop in! read more

I have stopped goi g to Starbucks because their coffee is terrible. It tastes burnt and has a cigar after taste. This unfortunately was worse. The coffee wasn't even drinkable. I bought a plain latte. I don't think you should have to cover the taste by syrup. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because their pumpkin chocolate chip bread was pretty good. I've only been here for the Kaiwa Meetup, a Japanese teaching Meetup, which is around 5pm-7pm. Since it is summer, being a little bit warmer than other times of the year, with the lack of A/C, it was pretty uncomfortably warm in there. The space is nice, but the beans are bad. I had a mocha latte with rice milk and light chocolate and it was a too sweet, syrupy mess. I was blaming the rice milk, until my companion appeared, ordered a dairy version of the same. The response was less than stellar. "This sucks," my companion said. well, so did mine. I sampled the dairy version, and yes, it sucked. Tasted stale. Now, I'm trying my best to get my companion to drink less Starbucks. So far, the response has been, let's try someplace new. Now, my companion will be wary. I hope its better at rush times. read more

Great place to get coffee and food as long as the owner and wife are working. My only complaint has been the few random times they stick a dry toasted bagel in the bag with a rock cold side of butter. Butter goes on the bagel :) Their house made quiche is awesome! This place is a gem. You'd think 6th Avenue would be a hotbed of fast food restaurants and drive-thrus, but it's actually not. And while it's cool that Denver continues to be hip and unlike most big cities, it's great to have a place like Buzz Cafe that offers drive-thru breakfast sandwiches and coffee. You still get the charm of a local coffee shop ran by smiling Ethiopians who make a dank egg sandwich, but the convenience of drive-thru is much appreciated when you're in a rush. Sometimes I'm in a hurry to get from Point A to Point B and sometimes I desperately need some caffeine and sometimes I don't want to spend 10 minutes circling the block to find a parking spot near Pablo's and in those instances, I find myself driving through Buzz Cafe. While I typically only come here out of convenience, the baristas are typically always friendly and the coffee is pretty decent. They have a variety of baked goods and breakfast items, but nothing that has ever jumped out at me. For those of you who may be looking to sip your beverages slowly, they have free wi-fi, indoor seating in the gas station turned coffee shop, and a large outdoor patio. read more

I live close to Buzz Cafe. I live closer to Pablo's but I prefer to take the lovely walk to Buzz and so I can enjoy their internet connection and quiet atmosphere. The staff at Buzz are very friendly, down to earth, and they play good music. My one suggestion is that they should start a garden on their patio. If they brought in some trees in planters or something, it would give the patio a more secluded feel. read more

I would have rather put my five dollar bill through a paper shredder. I asked for whole milk and watched the barista pour non-fat. When she handed me the drink I politely said that I really did want whole milk and she said that it was. Not only was it thin watery non-fat it was totally scorched and the espresso stale. I ended up throwing the entire drink out an hour later. Do yourself the favor I will do for myself next time. Walk the few blocks to Pablo's. read more

No complaints here. Good prices, decent coffee and espresso drinks, good bagels, breakfast burritos, and basic breakfast pastries (zucchini bread, scones, etc)! I've had the Italian soda on hot days and that's good too. They offer free wifi inside. There's a drive thru if you need it. It's been nearly a year since my first review of Buzz Cafe, and I've been here two or three times since then. I'm raising my review to 4 stars. Their egg and cheese (and optionally meat) breakfast sandwich is the best around. I have no idea how they make it so delicious, but it's amazing. Today I got a latte and it's better prepared than the cappuccino I originally had. This little place is quite the whole in the wall type of coffee shop! It's everything you need coffee, wifi, food and bathroom. Conveniently located with a drive thru window (Better than Starbucks I'd say!) it's a bit chilly when it's cold out and there's limited parking but I live near so I don't think that's a major issue for me. I may be biased cause they have Lions coffee which is my favorite brand of coffee growing up in Hawaii but hey, good coffee is good coffee! read more
