The place is nice, the food is lacking. It is a seafood version of Moes, flower tortillas a large amount and f can beans, lettuce, onions and shredded cheese with two small well cooked pieces of fish. Not truly a great value. The kids enjoyed playing making the tacos. read more

The food was good; especially grateful for the black beans & rice & salsa side (minus sour cream!). Only carry out available, but also outdoor seating. We took ours to the Hatteras lighthouse, & ate there (restrooms available!). Long term establishment-- 22 years. read more

When new in the village, ask a local surfwood artist. He did not street us wrong. Without a recommendation from someone, due to the outside facade I would not have stopped. But look closer, there is usually a line waiting for seating at the long bar or one of the few tables. The owner gets a little up tight with crowd management, but wait outside like you're told and it'll be worth it. We both had grilled tacos and wow, generous portions of make it yourself tacos. Delicious, beautiful presentation and reasonable price. Two people could even share. Great iced tea although cold beer is available if you prefer. Coke products as well. Great, inexpensive food that is great for on the go, or if you are headed to the beach! Unfortunately they only do take out and there is no where near to dine, but their carry out service is great. We tried the Greek Gyro and the fish tacos, both which were great!! They are famous for being the "best fish tacos" and I have to admit, they were pretty good! They fish was perfectly cooked, very flakey and well-spiced. That dish comes with tortillas, rice, beans, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, salsa, and their own fish taco sauce which was really good! For not being a Greek place, the gyro was also delicious! Well packed, fairly quick service, and we found it charming that they have been open for 21 years. Right now they do not have indoor dining but there are picnic tables. You have to phone in your order but there are only 2 lines available so it took a while until they were able to get to our call. Went around 2pm and wait was about 40 min. The fish tacos were so good, I had the grilled mahi-mahi. The sauces were delicious and the portion was a nice size. Would definitely recommend! read more

We were seated and not served while other people who arrived after us had their orders put in. We were not offered water or told why we were waiting so long. Servers constantly just walked right by when we tried to ask.They have signs telling you if you're rude or impatient you will get a 10 dollar upcharge(grow up). Servers were standing around while we were sitting there. Will not be returning. read more

This sweet, fun restaurant is great for it's nostalgic decor alone. Add in the 4 page menu plus daily specials and it's the perfect place to grab lunch! The staff is super friendly (ask for Kenny) and the owners always go above and beyond to accommodate people the best they can. The crabby patty sandwich was supposed to be all crab, but growing up catching and cleaning blue crabs has likely ruined my expectations. The crab patty was good, but it missed the target. Been coming here with family for the past 3 years, it's a requirement for us to stop and get lunch here at least once on our trips to the obx. I love the decor it has a fun hippie beach vibe really sets the mood for a relaxing beach vacation and they have the best food and the best service. The staff are very knowledgeable about the wide variety of food to offer, from crabby pattys to mermaid quesdiallaa (my personal favorite). They even had plenty of selection for picky eaters and young kids. The owner is a wonderful lady and I can't wait to come back next year! read more

My group and I got the BBQ bacon burger, the regular burger and a salad. The menu is a little confusing but the quality of food was great. The one who got the salad is gluten free and we didn't know the salad came in a flour bowl. We were able to pour the salad into a tray but there was probably still some contamination. Dine in would be great but I know the struggle of being under staffed. Definitely recommend for a quaint lunch! read more

Overall: Yesterday, went to a late lunch about an hour before closing. Great little gem and should we ever travel back here, this will be the place. Food: 5 stars- Family ordered the Tripper Fish blackened. Was excellent tasting and fresh (no fishy taste) with a great presentation (see photo). I though, ordered a land lovers club sub (yes I was out of my mind (maybe because I had just ascended/descended the lighthouse )but didn't want fish this time). Good sub with plenty of cheese and thinly sliced meats. Service: 5 stars- Christian was our server. Great friendliness and was very helpful. Went back to verify no MSG for one of our party members and brought our drinks back. Kept my tea refilled so he was Johnny on the spot. Dishes picked up and noticed other servers cleaning tables and floors. Noticed one even wiped down condiment containers which shows allot about the cleanliness of establishment or OCD- either way well done. Environment: 4 stars- Have to wait between doors to be seated. Little establishment with limited tables and bar top seating so you might have to wait a bit to be seated. Beatles music was playing with 60/70s motif or ambiance. One hole restroom but was clean. Several rules such as no split checks nor outside food/drink (which a 2 star reviewer would have realized if he knew how to read). read more

Doesn't look like much and had a decent crowd waiting. The food was good and the servers were friendly. They weren't very efficient with seating those waiting and turned away a lot of customers because the kitchen was backed up. The shrimp chowder was good and the fish of the day wrap with grouper was meaty. The crab cake was recommended and seemed like a top item to order, but we thought it had way too much filler/breading. read more

It doesn't look too impressive from the outside, but inside is full of 60's memorabilia, peace and love. We stopped here on our way to the Cape Hatteras lighthouse. I had the Bang Bang shrimp wrap, which was served with a few homemade tortilla chips. The wrap was HUGE and delicious. I left off the jalapeños, but the shrimp had just the right amount of spice. My boyfriend had the shrimp tacos with Old Bay grilled shrimp (you get a choice of that, fried shrimp, or a spicy grilled shrimp). His portion was huge as well and came with a beautiful plate of fixins. They had some baklava and cookies for sale at the counter, but we were so stuffed that we had to pass. Everyone was so polite and friendly. If we lived in OBX I could see us visiting here at least once a week. It felt lunch a bunch of old hippies just hanging out and enjoying some amazing food. Also...I enjoyed their photos of destruction from past hurricanes on the walls. Crazy to think that NC 12 has to be rebuilt every time there's a major hurricane. read more

We stopped here for a quick bite. Through they were closing and couldn't seat us they took our order for take out. From the outside I was skeptical but when we got inside the owner or manager was delightful as well as the lady taking our order. We ordered shrimp skewers and a bacon cheese burger with sweet potatoe fries. The food was absolutely terrific and we are very hard to please. The place was immaculate down to the bathroom. Our favorite lunch spot since we began vacationing in the Outer Banks around a decade ago! The food is always consistent(ly amazing), the staff is super friendly and attentive and you never are in need of something. Decor is super funky and there is no shortage of things to look at! We love the fish tacos, shrimp and corn chowder, and the house-made tuna salad! We try to get there early as this places gets PACKED as the shift goes on, especially as more families head off the beaches to look for food. But if you do have to wait for a table, it is super worth it!!!! read more

Adding to our pleasurable experience was our server, Belinda, who was funny and delightful as well as attentive. And to top things off, Rusty visited our table to check on our satisfaction. A good evening. My husband always enjoys the craft beers available on tap. If I had one quibble, it would be to up their game a bit in the wines available by the glass. The white wines, at least are pretty lackluster. But a small price to pay for an overall excellent experience.
