Last spring I stayed in the Merlot cabin with friends. The staff is super friendly, and very accommodating. The cabin was furnished with what we needed including toiletries and an outdoor grill. It was enjoyable to wake up each morning and go for a short walk to say "hi" to our neighbor Melody the cow! Their wine is decent. You have to try their wine slushy! Amazing on a warm day! They have a large deck off of their tasting room, which is perfect for sitting in the sun. I almost forgot to mention the gardens! Their grounds are absolutely stunning! Flowers line the walkway to the tasting room, and you pass a beautiful pond in the driveway! It's a must see on the Cayuga wine trail!! read more

We were at the winery to attend a family wedding. What a beautiful location! I enjoyed their rose wine and noticed that's what the bride was drinking as well! SO RUDE!!!! Although I wish I could give 0 stars for the server Jenna, the one star solely goes to the server who I did not catch her name but she had beautiful piercings and a tattoo that said "girl power" totally loved her. She sat us down at a nice spot on the deck and we told her exactly what we wanted which was a few tastings and a few slushees and she said we were totally fine sitting there. Right as we sat down, Jenna quickly came to us and said with an attitude that we were not welcome to sit there and made us feel like trash. I've never been approached with such disrespect from a server. I got up and took my family elsewhere. This place should be called butthole not buttenwood. Jenna needs to get fired or an get attitude adjustment. read more

Located on a hill overlooking Cayuga lake the views itself were beautiful, even in the beginning of spring. The tasting itself was great. Everyone was knowledgeable. We had options of white, red, rose and cider. There were a variety of flavors. I enjoyed the raspberry flavored cider. There was a nice porch and seating which if it was nicer, I would've loved to sit outside. They also had a large gift shop with wine glasses and finger lakes insignia. Their wine was delicious! You can really taste the different flavors and accents within their wine. Everyone in our group found something they enjoyed, with a mix of those who liked sweet, semi-sweet and dry. The decorations in their shop were gorgeous and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I had to laugh at the savvy ways they have found to make a profit, charging guests $1 to buy cow treats for their cow. I don't particularly want to pay someone to feed their cow, but maybe that's more appealing to someone who doesn't have 30 highlands at home. read more

Brianne was our wine expert who poured our wines and gave us details on each varietal we tasted. We can't praise Brianne enough. She was wonderful! Buttonwood winery was the 2nd of 3 wineries we visited today. The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. Of the 3 locations we visited, the wine was by far our favorite and we purchased two bottles of wine and a 4 pack of cider. The location is charming too. We would definitely visit again. read more

My wife and I just stayed at the Buttonwood Grove Winery Cabins for the third time since 2014 and it was amazing. I highly recommend any parents, couples, or just people looking to get away for a night or two to visit this place. They have the best wine in the Finger Lakes (hence why they won the 2017 Governors Cup for their 2016 Riesling). Staff and owners are so nice and are such down to earth people. This place has a piece of our heart and we will definitely be back in the future. read more

Posting a while after our last visit. On our last few visits I was so disappointed to find out that they had stopped selling their cider. We always enjoyed getting a few bottles of cider whenever we visited. When we finally made it back, there was no cider to be found and not a single person at the winery seemed to know anything about it! What happened to our favorite cider?? read more

We did a blind tasting at this Winery. It was absolutely cool experience. We guessed a couple of them incorrectly when we thought we had it. Would definitely do it again when in the area. Well worth the few dollars for the experience. The wines were amazing. Had to join the club. read more

Went there with my wife in late August. Just getting around to posting a review now. The wines were very good and the service excellent (server was Alora). The bread with the wine tasting was a great touch. We go to about 4-5 finger lakes wineries each summer and this was probably our best experience and is now our favorite winery. The view was beautiful and we never felt rushed ( it wasn't crowded). Purchased about 7 or 8 wines and will buy more at our local wine stores that carry their wines. read more

This was our first stop during our finger lakes winery adventure. And let me tell you it was a memorable one. We picked a blind tasting, which everyone regardless of wine knowledge should try. We got to sample some of their finest wines out of black glasses and attempted to use all of our senses to guess the wine. It was a truly amazing experience, one of my favorite tastings thus far. The staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable. They made everything about our experience comfortable and fun. They brought us fresh baked bread, had fabulous cheeses and our newly found obsession cheeky monkey sauce. We loved everything about our time here, we may even take the long way home to stop in again. read more

My boyfriend and I visited Buttonwood Grove Winery on 8/13/14 while were vacationing in the Finger Lakes. This may be the prettiest winery we saw in the area. The women who gave us our tasting explained that the previous owners were professional landscapers prior to owning the winery (and it shows). I really enjoyed the entire tasting experience and the women who gave us our tasting although not entirely set up when we arrive (we were the 1st people at the winery that day) could not have been nicer. She also had a lot of knowledge about the Finger Lakes wineries (having lived in the area for the majority of her adult life). Although, my boyfriend and I only bought 1 bottle of wine from Buttonwood Grove; the blackberry wine we purchased was very unique (hadn't tasted anything like it before). I am sure we'll enjoy it in the future. The only reason this place is not getting 5 stars from me is because it was not my favorite wine on our trip. read more

My girlfriend and I made our way through the Finger Lakes wineries last September and this was by far our favorite stop. It was not only the quality wine and wonderful ambience but the service that really made our visit such a memorable one. Our server Cheryl made us feel so welcomed we didn't want to leave. The cheese board and bread was delightful and we made sure to save some for our drive the following day. We will definitely be returning soon. read more

What can I say - I just got engaged here yesterday!!! Absolutely perfect beautiful setting. We sipped on blackberry wine slushies (delish) and looked out over the lake. Lovely. As for wine, we enjoyed the Dry Riesling and Cab Sav most. We returned today with friends to get some photos and when we told everyone our news they were so happy for us and gave us Diva champagne for a toast. A very memorable winery for me indeed. My family visits yearly as part of a family tradition for the fourth of July (we have a house less than a mile away). This past year we decided to take my young children over to see their cow Melody. While there a small group of us decided to do a tasting. My husband waited with the children outside. He needed to bring them in as our daughter needed to use the restroom. He brought them inside and my youngest let out a squeal of laughter. The woman who was helping us during our tasting (blonde short hair - think Kate Gosselin hair-do) said "I hate that sound! They need to get those kids out of here"! I was so upset I could completely understand if my children were misbehaving, running around. However my daughter was in my husbands arms laughing because he tickled her! Not to mention during the tasting SHE (The Buttonwood employee) knocked my friends tasting glass over and it broke she blamed my friend for putting it there. Hopefully she was just having a bad and was upset to be working on the 4th, however I was very disappointed with her attitude and service! And my family currently has no plans on returning in the years to come. read more

Another stop on the Cayuga wine trail, we really liked (and bought) the Redbud wine here. The Finger Lakes aren't known for their Reds, but we greatly enjoyed this wine and I'm actually sipping on it right now while I enjoy the Oscar pre-show and eat some flatbread pizza (a great pairing for this light Red). read more

We took our daughter and fiance here and altho the wine we tried was excellent, everything else was not. We were seated by a pleasant young man that took our wine requests. He had told us the food purchase mandate was still in effect and we had to eat. Since none of us knew different, we decided to oblige. He had asked us if we knew what we wanted and since we were vacillating on the decision, he offered to give us a small splash to try the one we werent sure of which helped us decide. We ordered 2 different bottles for our table and the younger crew went off to find food. They returned with an over-priced pre-packaged meat stick. At the same time, one bottle of wine came out. So we drank wine and chatted and after awhile realized that we had a meat stick that we were told we had to eat while drinking that was still packaged. Unfortunately, we couldnt find our pleasant young man anywhere. So, our daughter asked the first young lady that got close to us if we could have something to cut the stick with and a glass of water. She was told the water was not drinkable and that she could buy a bottle of water. Soon after, the young lady returned and gave us a knife (duller than a screwdriver) and a cutting board. After a bit, we noticed our second choice of wine never made it to the table. When our young man returned, we mentioned the 2nd bottle but by then werent interested in it. She also asked him about a glass of water that he brought immediately and it was fine (no charge since it was from tap). And the coup de grace was that they tried to charge us for that earlier mentioned splash/ taste as a full wine tasting. Good wine, terrible service and management. read more

Nice winery, did not note cheap pours like others had mentioned. Really enjoyed the 2017 reisling and the white. The pourer was also very friendly and had great suggestions for other places to stop by while visiting the area. Recommend. read more
