This past weekend I was trying on the dress I got for my best friend's welcome party for her destination wedding. The zipper got stuck, then it broke, and my panic for having a new dress for this occasion in under a week set in. I used Yelp assistant to put in a request to local alterations spots and let them know I had a broken zipper off the track of a formal dress and I needed it fixed before Tuesday. This request was sent on a Saturday afternoon, so to be honest I was not very hopeful of any replies but Carolina replied right away. Her studio is right by my apartment so she told me to take my dress in right then to see if it could be fixed. She fixed the zipper on the spot, and when we actually tried on the dress we realized that I did not fit. Welcome to my nightmare. She had the brilliant idea to alter the dress and add fabric on the sides to give me the inches I needed. The result is essentially a custom dress that I am obsessed with, and at a great price. I am definitely going to keep Carolina on speed dial for any of my alterations needs as she is super sweet, detail oriented, and very well priced. Her studio is located in a blue building on Mediera and there is street parking right in front. Thank goodness for both request a quote and Carolina for saving my dress fiasco.

This man walks in wanting his pants hemmed, she talks to him, he puts on the pants and she proceeds to mark the pants and tells them it will be done in a week. I really wanted to like this place. I brought in 6 curtain panels (originally 98") to be hemmed to…read more91", and while their price was the best quote I received, it turned out to be a total waste of money. I noticed right away once I hung the first panel that something was off -- the curtains measured **only 88"**, a full **3 inches shorter** than requested. One panel was even shorter than the others. I measured everything using a contractor-grade measuring tape and documented it with photos and video. When I went back to show them the problem, they dismissed my concerns and insisted on using **their own 30" measuring stick**, which clearly didn't match my measurements. Even then, one panel measured 90.5" -- still not the 91" I had paid for -- and yet **they refused to offer a refund or any real solution**. To make matters worse, I later looked them up on Yelp and realized **this exact issue has happened to others** -- inaccurate alterations, flawed measuring, and zero accountability. I really wish I had read those reviews before trusting them with such an expensive project. They were friendly at first, but when it came to making things right, they did absolutely nothing. I had to buy new curtains and was left with six panels I can't use. **My advice: If you need anything precise done, avoid this place.** Bring your own measuring tape if you go at all -- or better yet, take your business somewhere with more professionalism and consistency.
