Marvelous stay in Dorris. A beautifully restored property. The owners have decorated it for Christmas. The room was dry comfortable and charming. We stayed in the ground floor room with a very large bath. The sitting area in the front as well as dining area and kitchen are open to guests. 7/13/25: I just stayed in the Butte Valley B&B in Dorris, CA. Branden & Kress have a very accommodating place in a quiet neighborhood. The room was spacious and clean including an unusual little "tower charging" device for phones or whatever plugs into either USB or 115V. The continental breakfast was very good & the company at breakfast was quite friendly. I will definitely stay there again when I come into Dorris to visit friends. Gary G. read more

I was in Dorris California doing Microwave Radio repairs for the local phone company and found this extremely comfortable place. It is an older B&B with plenty of charm in it. The caretaker Robert was pleasant and always accommodating to my schedule even in COVID-19 times. My stay was only 3 nights but the place was warm and cozy. The room was comfortable and room to move around in. The building had it's own distinct appeal and made the noises you expect from an older building. I was lucky and had a room that looked over my company vehicle. However I had no worries about crime or problems. I did note the lack of homeless people in the town. Perhaps too cold. My stay was in February 2021. I would recommend staying here if you are in the northern California area. Local restaurants and a grocery store near by. Robert offered home cooked meals and always made you feel welcome thru out my stay. It would be fantastic if I had another opportunity to stay here again. Rich R. read more

I stayed in early August 2022 and I look forward to staying again in the future! I booked a night on the tail end of a two week road trip. It was a perfect cap to an amazing trip! Kerry and Brandon, the owners, are truly lovely people, as is their son. Kerry gave me a whole tour of the building with the local history and describe plans for future upgrades (all of which sounded amazing). I stayed in the Cedar Mountain room which had an ac unit - greatly appreciated as we were in heat wave and air quality was awful due to smoke from the McKinney fire. The shower had great water pressure and the hygiene products were locally made. The bed was amazing - with quality sheets, a comfortable mattress and cozy blankets! I was fortunate enough to have Kerry cook me both dinner and breakfast - both delicious (not to mention the fresh baked coffee cake she sliced and sent with me when I left)! Before hitting the road, Kerry told me of some local spots to check out - totally worth the detour! I enjoyed every minute of my stay and I look forward to seeing what Kerry and Brandon have been up to the past year! read more

Had a wonderful time here with our family and Jeff, the owner. By the end of our stay it was hard to leave. It felt like we were at a good friend's home. Jeff is an amazing chef serving us a fantastic pork rib, fried rice and grilled veggie dinner. Yummmm....breakfast was equally as delicious. He even sent us on the road with dinner left overs. What a pleasant discovery! We visited the Hospitality Inn on a recent trip to Lava Beds National Monument. I was looking for a place to stay near the park and a quick Google search found this B&B. We arrived late in the evening 9:30pm and met the owners at the dining hall. The owners, Jeff and Donna were very welcoming and as soon as we arrived graced us with a cold beer. We felt right at home. Unfortunately we arrived just a bit too late and the kitchen was closed - however Jeff cooked us some appetizers (the homemade jalapeno poppers were awesome!). I also have to recommend the homemade pies. I had the coconut cream pie - I'm not a huge fan of coconut, however I do like pies - This pie was very very good. After we had eaten our fill, we went over to the B&B, which is about a block away from the dining hall. The house is old - it was originally a hospital. I don't want to spoil the details, I'll let Jeff and Donna tell you about it if you go. Suffice to say that it was nicely decorated and quite comfortable. I wish I had not been so tired as the hot tub looked mighty inviting! We slept well and shortly after we woke we went over to the dining hall for breakfast. Jeff was our cook once again and we had a wonderful meal. Donna joined us and we had a great time talking about the local area. Let me just say one more thing about the breakfast. I'm somewhat of a pancake snob. I've been making pancakes every Sunday for more than 10 years. Anyway, the pancakes that Jeff served us were quite good. They had soul. Good work Jeff! In closing, we had a wonderful stay at this B&B. It is not fancy, but we had a wonderful time there and I am looking forward to our next visit. read more

What a fantastic place to stay for a hunting trip! Staying at the Hospitality Inn B+B during a hunting trip with my friends and family made this trip luxurious. The beds were comfortable, the house was very well decorated, and the host (Jeff) was amazing. Jeff made us the best meals that you can find in the area. Large portions with great flavor. The Hospitality Inn in Doris California is a hidden gem of California. It is well worth the trip from just about anywhere and should definitely not be missed if you are anywhere nearby. The hospitality at this bed-and-breakfast is unparalleled. However, that is not even the main attraction. The main attraction is the food. Oh my God, the food is amazing. The owner of this bed-and-breakfast it is an accomplished chef and caterer, able to serve one person as easily as 500. Whether you are eating dinner at his nearby restaurant one block away or he is cooking breakfast for you at the hotel, you will not be disappointed. It doesn't matter what you pick off the menu or what he prepares, you will be delighted. Both the bed-and-breakfast and the hotel are friendly and welcoming to everybody, from car tourists to bicyclists to motorcyclists to hunters. Prices at both the bed-and-breakfast and the restaurant are extremely reasonable, despite the fact that the hospitality and food are so amazing. Jeff is an ex-chef for the Forest Service who is a whiz at putting together some fantastic dishes. We have visited the restaurant several times, and have never been disappointed. What Jeff can do with salmon is awesome--if it is on the menu, try his salmon fettucine. Lovely location in the small town of Dorris at the Oregon border. In the summer, you can sit outside and watch the evening primroses unfurl their blooms. read more

If we could we would give this place 10 stars. After spending the day on a motorcycle we needed a place to stay. I had made reservations way in advance and was not ready for what we got. Jeff met us at the door as we pulled up and acted like we were long lost family. Welcomed us in and showed us the place after getting everybody a glass of ice water. Once we got settled he announced that he was making dinner and it would be ready in a few. We did not expect this at all. Dinner was BBQ chicken, Tossed Green Salad ( home made) and a scratch made Rice Pilaf. For desert he had a Home Made Berry Pie. And i mean home made from scratch. After spending 2 weeks on the road eating a home made meal was a treat. We all sat around after in the back yard talking until we could not keep our eyes open. Breakfast was Bacon, Eggs and Has browns with toast. Man I could of stayed here a few more nights. The rooms were nice, the bathrooms were great and the company was even better. If you are ever passing though you need to stay here. If not at least eat in his restaurant around the corner. We will be going back as this area is one of our favorite places to spend time in. A cozy place with comfortable beds and delicious food that's well-appointed with turn-of-the-century antiques and historical art evoking this region's part in the old west. We were blessed to expand our Yelp search to include Bed and Breakfasts near Klamath Falls and Weed. Suddenly and magically, this little gem appears out of the mist in Dorris, California. The town, so far north in California that it feels like Oregon and is right below the state line, is spelled this way with two R's. Our host Jeff has this down home bed and breakfast that he makes awesome with his cleanliness, jovial personality and generosity. He answered the phone himself and was so human about our mutual good fortune: there was a room available for us... What a relief and a treat, an escape from our transaction-oriented world. We were welcomed into the fold immediately, and he did not blink an eye at our incapacity to socialize much due to exhaustion from summiting mount hood earlier on the same day! He forgave our incoherence, and we were charmed by Jeff's good-natured dialogue and hospitality. read more

Our trip to Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge was made even more special thanks to finding Jeff and his beautiful little B&B! We arrived tired and hungry from a long day of driving and hiking and were greeted like long lost friends with a tour of the old hospital and a three course dinner from scratch, delicious! A couple of beers, some great company, a little hot tub relaxation and we were down for the count. Breakfast was amazing with everything from scratch once again.
