Love the feel of this place and the wait staff is very nice, but we went on an extremely busy day and it took 45 plus minutes to receive our food. I had the chicken and waffles which looked great, but the flavor just wasn't there. I do like their decent coffee which is definitely a plus when most places are trying to save money by serving horrible bean juice! lol We'll have to stop by for some breakfast another day when it isn't so busy and we can see what the cook actually has to offer.

Stopped by after seeing this restaurant on the road. It was confusing to find the main door and whether we had to seat ourselves or not. We flagged someone down to clean the table for us. The waitresses were nice and the food was ok. We had to ask two different waitresses for our utensils because the first one forgot. It's hard to mess up breakfast. It was good but I was not wow'd. I had the Cajun breakfast. The potatoes, some were soft others weren't cooked all the way through. They also needed more seasoning. The star of the plate was the sausage. I also had a short stack of pancakes on the side. The pancakes are large and buttery. My partner had the fried seafood plate. The crust was seasoned well. I like that they mix their cocktail sauce with a little horseradish to give it a little kick.

Haven't been in here in a while but I'm glad I did. It's a simple restaurant, you pick your seat and are served shortly afterwards. The staff is pleasant and the food comes out quick and hot. They weren't kidding when they said the full cinnamon roll was huge and for about $6 I was very pleasantly surprised. The dough of the cinnamon roll was good and moist. I wish the icing was a bit less thick but the flavors went well and it was a good addition to my cup of coffee. Overall, it was a great experience and we'll probably be back to try the rest of the menu.

Bottom line, plenty of spaces. Side note, they're not all spaced the way you might expect. Walking in, the place was hopping. Much more crowded than the former business. Pretty good sized menu. They serve you the red salsa, but you can ask for the green. The kind that gives you heart burn for hours. Worth it. Both salsa were great, chips were fresh. We ordered house margaritas, and those were also very good. Pricing was average. For food we ordered the parrillada El Malecon. Mixed beef and chicken, with ribs and quail. Here's where things went a little rough. We ordered the "for two" but the entire was still in a " for one" portion. 3 pieces of steak, 3 chicken, one quail 2 rib portions. Definitely seemed off. The manager came by, and we discussed. On THEIR menu, the double portion is only 4 strips of steak, 4 of chicken, still only one quail, and two rib portions. The reasoning we were given is that people don't seem to like the quail. First, nothing about this is "for two." For 45.99 this isn't it. The chicken and beef were good, the quail was not seasoned well unfortunately, and the ribs were over sauced with a cheap syrupy sauce. Overall food was a no. But here's where I also have to give credit. They stuck with their defense, and while we discussed someone brought a plate of chicken and beef. While we weren't going to ask for anything, we do appreciate their thoughtfulness and speedy resolution. Maybe they knew it was coming , or maybe they just jumped ahead to make it work. Either way, we appreciated that effort. Overall, service was great, food was 50/50. Wouldn't do the parrilladas again, but would try other menu items.

There appeared to be bodily fluids on the restroom floors and on top of the stalls, extending toward the sink area. One of the urinals had a paper towel placed over it with what appeared to be bodily fluids present. The restroom needed immediate attention. While those sanitation issues were occurring, I observed someone watching a UFC fight on a cell phone that had been propped up on one of the restaurant's decorative areas. Whether it was during work or not, it gave the impression that sanitation was not being treated as a priority. I informed a server about the restroom conditions and asked if someone could address them. I was told not to have an attitude by my server (while explaining to him the plate). That response was disappointing, especially after raising what I believed were legitimate health and sanitation concerns. My partner also told me she saw creamers dropped onto the floor and then placed back into the serving container instead of being discarded. She also informed me that the women's restroom had bodily fluids on the toilets. To make matters worse, the plate my food was served on had dried food residue around the top, rim, and on the underside, which I photographed. Clean dishes are one of the most basic expectations when dining out. I hope management takes these concerns seriously. Restaurants are responsible for maintaining clean restrooms, properly sanitized dishware, and food-safe practices. Those standards protect both customers and employees. Unfortunately, this visit did not reflect those expectations.

Give that kid a Gold Star - he is my server for life at Red OAK. He took care of us with a smile and quick service, what a shining star they got when they hired him! The food tasted okay, but it definitely lacked spices and in my opinion needs some TLC. One menu item that caught my attention was the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese: three types of cheeses, Granny Smith apple slices, bacon slices, and sourdough bread. Now I thought that the apple slices come on the side right? Nope, they were cooked in the sandwich. I don't know who came up with the concept of adding the apples into the sandwich, but whatever; I've tasted weirder things. Still, the sandwich didn't taste bad; that's just a weird concept in my opinion. The worst part of our service was the server. She didn't exactly introduce herself, but she did ask how we were with an apathetic tone. Like I said, she didn't tell us her name. Only way I can describe her is she wore eyeliner, red lipstick, and her blonde hair in a clip. During our visit to the restaurant, she just seemed like she hated her job and was emotionally constipated. When I wanted to substitute a side order of white chicken chili with the Grown-Up grilled cheese (I knew there would be an upcharge), she told me in a somewhat aggravated voice that there would be an upcharge. I told her calmly that I understood as the menu had specified. The only time she came by was to ask if we were done with our plates or needed a coffee refill, but not on how the food tasted. But yes, our server was probably the worst part of our visit. I've met Russians who were less cold than our server. I probably won't return unless the server gets an attitude adjustment or just leaves.

Soon as you enter, you head straight to the counter to order. From there, you're given a number and choose your seat. Booth and table options are available. On a Thursday afternoon, the place wasn't busy but not empty, which gave my Mom and I the opportunity to catch up without a noisy dining room. The food came out fresh and hot and for the price, we were surprised by the portion since its was the $10 HH burger and fries. The fountain drinks were interesring as well. DS does not have Coke or Pepsi products. They have similiar flavors you would find with those brands. I enjoyed the Mexican Coke. It seemed to not be as fizzy aa your own well know caffenated Compadres but still carried a great flavor. Let me not skip over the dessert! Mom LOVED the pecan pie which she states had whole pecans instead of pieces. I did not wven notice that she had been getting pieces of the pie as we talked. Half of it was gone when we left. That means is pretty scrumptous! I had enough willpower to eat my chocolate chip cookie when I got home and it was worth the wait! Not only is the cookie huge, but the semi sweet chocolate and sea salt is chef's kiss. Grat combo of both worlds. Combine that with the crunchy outisude and chewy, gooey interior and this is one of the best cookies I've tasted in a long time. So glad to dish all this goodness to Yelpers and remind them of another gem in West U that will not only give you a great place to get a bite but satisfy that sweet tooth.

Even after joining the waitlist ahead of time, my party of seven still waited about 30 to 40 minutes before being seated. Considering the holiday crowd, though, that was completely understandable. One of the highlights of the evening was our waitress, JB, who was genuinely one of the best servers I have ever had. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout the meal. We started with an order of fried pickles, which arrived almost immediately. The pickles were crispy and well fried, though I found the ranch dressing a bit thicker than I prefer. For my entrée, I ordered the 12-ounce prime rib cooked on the rare side, along with steak fries and a Caesar salad. The salad was fairly standard, and while the steak fries were nothing extraordinary, I still have not found a side I prefer more. Prime rib can sometimes be hit or miss when it comes to temperature, so I was happy to see that mine was cooked perfectly this time. It was incredibly tender and seasoned just right. The au jus kept every bite moist, while the creamy horseradish provided the perfect contrast to the richness of the meat. My sister ordered the country fried chicken, which was less successful. The chicken itself was decent, but the white gravy was noticeably salty and overpowered the dish. I also would have preferred the gravy to be served on the side rather than poured over the chicken, as it made the breading soggy and masked some of the flavor. Overall, this was another solid Texas Roadhouse experience. Between the excellent service, well-cooked prime rib, and lively atmosphere, the restaurant delivered on what it does best. While not every dish was a winner, the quality of the meal and the outstanding service made for a memorable Father's Day meal.
