This restaurant is a hidden gem in Pearland! Came here on a whim after church with my husband, and we were so glad we discovered this place. We keep coming back lol. There's always plenty of seating here with absolutely no wait time whenever we come here. The servers are always very nice and attentive anytime we're here. Food always comes out quick too! The food here is really good and affordable! I love their croissant sandwich... like a lot lol. The portion size of their food is just enough to get you full too. My husband also loves the Kaylani omelette. The restaurant is very chill and casual. They also play nice R&B music in the background which is a vibe for me, because I love R&B. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area!

My husband and I came here for breakfast while we were in town and had mixed reviews. It's in a weird location at the corner of a strip mall. We were the first customers of the morning so we had the whole place to ourselves. As someone else said, the seating is not very comfortable. (Hard wooden benches in the booths.) The music was good and they showed videos on the tv overhead. He ordered the shrimp & grits and the grits were watered down and had no taste. The shrimp were ok but not worth keeping the dish so he sent it back. I had the avocado toast with fried green tomatoes, which was very good. Two slices of toast and the avocado mixture was topped with feta cheese, which I love. The tomatoes were fried perfectly. It came with tater tots but I didn't want to get too full. Coffee was decent and our server was pleasant and helpful. They have other brunch-type items but with so many other places, not sure if we'd try again.

Had breakfast on May 1st. It's a quiet clean little establishment with a friendly staff. Bonus points for the really good chill music. Food was bomb although I was disappointed with tater tots as my side with my breakfast tacos. They were good but not what the menu said was coming with the tacos. We also had the pancakes.

This place has a nice down home vibe... lots of fresh breakfast and brunch options with a truly local vibe...Great drink menu... I suggest the watermelon lemonade.....This was by far the best omelette I have ever had.... It's a local black owned business and I think their secret maybe having their grandmothers cooking it up in the kitchen... the strawberry butter was the jam no pun intended....forget waiting in line in midtown at the Breakfast Klub.... The place is better priced and much better

Is located next to food town. Atmosphere was comfortable and service was good. Food was just OK.

I'm not going to be mean to this establishment. My wife and I are in town for a family event. We weren't thrilled with the hotel breakfast accommodations so we went outside for breakfast. We chose The Rooster. We were there first customers of the day and we thought cool we can get in and out fast. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my wife ordered fried green tomatoes with avocado toast. Hers she said was delicious mine on the other hand not so much. My grits were cold and I thought my shrimp weren't as fresh as they could have been considering the Gulf of Mexico is thirty minutes down the road. The chef left little to be desired the grits were tasteless and the shrimp sauce was not much better. Our server apologized for my entree which was fine. I'll be very careful who to order this dish from. Anyway my wife loved hers and that all I can say. Hence the 2 stars.

Classic Eggs Benedict: avocado, egg, egg muffin with ham and a side of some sweet and regular potatoes.

Great place, very friendly owner, Friendly staff. Nice menu items. Food was good and tastey. Most menu items are over $10, wish they would lower the prices by at least $2 to $3 dollars. But great atmosphere. They also have a bar with mimosas and brunch drinks.

    Fried Green Tomatoes, yummy!

I didn't have to ask for my first refill as the waitress recognized my thirst when I ordered the drink. My food did not disappoint. Another thing I have come to expect from this restaurant. The City Grits were fantastic! Using Gouda cheese with bacon, tomato and green onions as toppings. I opted not to get tomatoes and personally would have like about half as much green onions. But who doesn't love bacon! Hash browns instead of an English muffin and chopped ham instead of Canadian bacon made a special breakfast better. The eggs were poached to perfection. The staff appear to be happy working at this particular restaurant and I observed them working with each other as a team first.

I hate leaving reviews like this, but this experience needs management's attention…read more When I visited this location during a family reunion in Houston, the men's restroom had an overwhelming odor of urine. There appeared to be bodily fluids on the restroom floors and on top of the stalls, extending toward the sink area. One of the urinals had a paper towel placed over it with what appeared to be bodily fluids present. The restroom needed immediate attention. While those sanitation issues were occurring, I observed someone watching a UFC fight on a cell phone that had been propped up on one of the restaurant's decorative areas. Whether it was during work or not, it gave the impression that sanitation was not being treated as a priority. I informed a server about the restroom conditions and asked if someone could address them. I was told not to have an attitude by my server (while explaining to him the plate). That response was disappointing, especially after raising what I believed were legitimate health and sanitation concerns. My partner also told me she saw creamers dropped onto the floor and then placed back into the serving container instead of being discarded. She also informed me that the women's restroom had bodily fluids on the toilets. To make matters worse, the plate my food was served on had dried food residue around the top, rim, and on the underside, which I photographed. Clean dishes are one of the most basic expectations when dining out. I hope management takes these concerns seriously. Restaurants are responsible for maintaining clean restrooms, properly sanitized dishware, and food-safe practices. Those standards protect both customers and employees. Unfortunately, this visit did not reflect those expectations.

I love to go here, because I can avoid going crazy..... ha ha..... I am fond of their soufflé cheesecake and the rainbow cake- haven't had any trouble with those yet.  Today I tried their berry croffle, melt in the mouth, light sweet, just right !Also, would like to try their baguettes, I reallyy hope those don't have sugar tinge in them.  Keep savory as savory and sweet and sweet, separate, why make all savory sweet too !  The color of the chairs sets the French tone. They have a vast selection and there is so much I am yet to try.  Its pretty popular in the area so am sure I will be brought back by others,  like a place to meet for coffee or something....

This was our first time visiting, and we were genuinely looking forward to trying the restaurant because of all the social media hype. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to those expectations. When we arrived, there were only a handful of customers. We ordered our coffee and food with our waitress. Our café de olla arrived fairly quickly, and I have to say, it was very good. However, our food was another story. We ordered a gordita de azúcar, which arrived about 10 minutes later. Unfortunately, it appeared to have been packaged and microwaved rather than freshly prepared. After that, we waited...and waited. Eventually, we noticed a party of 12 arrive and begin receiving their food before ours, even though we had already been waiting close to an hour. I completely understand wanting to take care of regular customers, but every customer should feel valued, especially when it's their first visit. If someone is a regular, I would hope they would also understand that a restaurant has to serve customers in the order they were received and manage expectations accordingly. After nearly an hour without receiving our meals, we decided to leave. The owner was understanding and told us we could leave without paying for the coffees or the gordita de azúcar, which I appreciated. I can't say whether the food is good or bad because we unfortunately never got the opportunity to try it. At this point, I don't know if we'll return, but I sincerely hope the restaurant takes this feedback constructively and improves the customer experience moving forward.
