Great spot for a quick bite! We got a hot dog and Brown Line burger and were very pleased. Staff was so kind and gave us a rundown of their menu. I had a crispy chicken sandwich and it was ok. I'm not a fan of the breading used on the chicken and it was a bit dry. When I walked in to look at the menu I was taken aback at the pricing, but after checking other local restaurants, it's in line with what everyone else is doing. I can't blame a small business for pricing with inflation in mind. The ambiance was clean and comforting, but other than branding, not much has changed from the previous business. I live 2 blocks from Bust Outs and it really is a hidden gem. The owners provide amazing customer service every time I eat there (which is at least 2-4 times per month). Its hard to find a bad item on the menu. One of the owners recommended the garlic cheese curds and they have become one of my favorite appetizers on their menu. I love their cheeseburgers. I love a burger with different things on it - I tried the blue line burger and it was so delicious. The bite of the blue cheese with the balsamic onion jam - YUM. The garlic cheese curds are to die for. Our portions were huge and the prices are in line with every other restaurant. I felt like the portions were very generous. Definitely not just another hot dog place! Went there because we were looking for some burgers close by and what a surprise! While you can get the standard fare and a regular burger, they have different "El line" themed burgers with great combinations of different condiments on top of your choice of protein (beef/chicken). The burger itself was angus beef and very good. Garlic cheese curds were pretty great too. Personable service, cozy local feel, delicious and interesting. We'll be back to try more! read more

We had a phenomenal experience here today! We ordered several different appetizers and burgers and everything was absolutely delicious. I realized I should have taken pictures of everything for this review but it was so good we couldn't help but dig in! The burger toppings were all so different and interesting and everyone loved what we each got. Any sandwich can also be substituted with grilled chicken, crispy chicken or a bean burger, though we all got regular beef patties (which were great). The staff were also incredibly kind and amazing, and they had lots of parking (the lot behind the restaurant belongs to them). We have been driving by for months and finally went in. So happy we made that decision. We had a burger and grilled chicken sandwich. These guys are great across the board. For our first order we got a blue line burger and a green line burger and garlic cheese curds. All were excellent, but the owner said to try the chicken next time, because it's even better. We did, and it is. The crispy chicken has a cornmeal breading, similar to fried green tomatoes, the seasoning is great and the meat was moist and perfectly sized for sandwiches. Also the service is fantastic. Angelo is very involved, friendly, and proud of his business, with good reason! We ordered our chicken for pick up "ASAP," thinking it would take some time to be ready, but they move fast and we ended up being a bit late for pickup. He was very apologetic for keeping our order under the warmer, even though it was 100% our fault for being late. If you're missing Susie's drive through (closed on montrose), you might want to check this place out. They have the vintage picnic tables in back so you get a similar dining experience. Price for hot dog & waffle fries is under $10. They have pop by the bottle so you get the real flavor. The condiments were fresh, bun good and held up. I'm not sure where to even begin! Bust Outs is by far THE BEST burger joint in Chicago. I feel so fortunate to live close by when I need a good burger fix. My favorite is definitely the Green Line, but all their options seriously are top notch. The service and feel of the place is just good old fashion home like. The owner is super kind and always is down for a good conversation! I have to say that I truly appreciated the work and research he went through to find his gluten free buns because not only are they delicious, but they do not fall apart! He is also very conscious of the market and hasn't raised his prices like many places have and while it may be inevitable in the future, I will gladly pay as the ingredients and service is worth it! If you want options in both beef and chicken, this is your place to go! I seriously cannot recommend them enough and I cannot wait to see them at Burger Fest again - it was where we discovered them the first time and we had tried their Brown Line burger and garlic cheese curds and OMG delicious to the top! They were even kind to give our many free samples when everyone waited so patiently in line - that's customer service and just feel good vibes! read more
