I used to do lot of business at Nacogdoches road at north east of San Antonio. But by accident I sew this Bush Chicken kind of hiding in to of this hill to my right. I was curious and hungry so I stop. To my surprise I was very clean, even that it was at 2pm, and kind of busy. I please my order and Mr.Hector, in a very courteous and pleasant way expressed the need to prepare more of what I ordered(chicken gizzard). So I waited giving me opportunity look the place and the operation in general. Every single employee from the management to cook, to ladies taking orders in and out on the drive thru, we busy, ocupaied and with smile. Empressed more a youngadhI noticed Miss Jolly or Juliette working taking orders and at the same time cleaning and ensuring everything was in place and need. This kind of emoyees that from the top of management to the ones bellow give 100% in everything thing they do is not commonly found in many industries and organizations. Mr.Hector and Miss Juliette are very special workers and I do hope upper management see and acknowledge the type of individuals they have in this particular location at Nacogdoches Rd. This are the kind of employees that place Bush Chicken and any other organizations they render their services and work for in top of others. The product served was excellent and just the right amount of species and no greassy. It was done right even considering that was fast food. The cook obviously was running the extra mile in was he does. I just was a great experience. I have other Bush Chicken near my residence but this is my new stops for fast and great food served in a spotless and clean restaurant. Thanks Bush Chicken management for having a great team here in this location.. .I will relay to friends and coworkers in the hospital I work locally of the great experience I had. Thanks Hector and thanks Juliette for making the difference and raising the bar for other employees across Bush Chicken organisations! Mr..H Martinez read more

Staff was friendly. That's it. Nothing else. Instead of naming obvious upsets, maybe there does exist a manager with some common sense that reads this. 1) electronic tablets - do credit card swiping when the car places their order. 2) encourage all cars to move forward so that some of us don't get rear ended by cars leaving 3) take multiple orders at a time. Like 3 cars at a time. THEN come back outside to take more orders while those previous orders are being fulfilled. Make sure your staff at least acknowledges a car within 5 minutes. They make dual shelved plastic rollers that you can put multiple orders on. Roll that out 3-6 orders at a time. Boom boom boom. It will be faster and provide better word of mouth. This one order at a time/ 1 car at a time is pure ignorance. It shouldn't take me 18 minutes to get acknowledged with only 4 cars around me. RIDICULOUS read more

They messed up on my order, they charge me for an item I didn't receive. I was already back at work when I noticed so I called them for a refund of the overcharge and they said they couldn't do that I would have to come back to pick up the item I was not given. I should have know why their rating was so bad. read more

I went to bushes to get a four piece tender meal through the drive through. Unfortunately they didn't give me a receipt. I have never had this bad of an experience. They were out of rolls so they offered extra tenders. The tenders I got were not even tenders. They were so small and tough. When I asked about the tenders his response was that's the only size right now. Nothing was done to even try to remedy the situation. read more

This location deserves all the negative reviews! I've given them multiple opportunities over the years to redeem themselves but it just never happens. Problems are never resolved when presented to management. Strike one - purchased a $50 gift card for my brother-in-law. It wasn't "activated". He couldn't use it. I had the receipt but no resolution from Bush's management. Strikes 2 and 3. When ordering a chicken strip family meal, I expect to get the correct number of strips (not two less)! I also expect to receive both of my sides. My mashed potatoes were "subbed" out for an extra gravy container! Let me drive back 15 minutes each way to try and get this resolved. Wait, I can't because they didn't give me a receipt. This has happened multiple times. I should have learned my lesson after the gift card. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice........ read more

What happened when I was feeling extra horrible on Tuesday & I didn't want to make dinner? I suggested Bush's Tuesday tender special for dinner. You get 16 Tenders, 4 rolls & gravy for $16.99, I think. We never got a receipt. It used to be $12.99 but the cost has gotten 'bigger' while the chicken strips have gotten smaller. By smaller I mean that they look like skinny pieces of jerky or some actually look like breaded nuggets of breading w a small chunk of chicken hidden inside. These "chicken" strips were terrible. We ordered a family side of okra. We requested that it be made fresh & hot and said we'd be happy to wait if we could just get the okra AND chicken strips fresh. So, we waited... and waited (while they made chicken jerky) and that is absolutely fine. :) However, did we get it fresh food? NOPE! It was all chewy & had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for quite awhile? The rolls were chewy. Almost like they'd been microwaved. Weird. The gravy tasted great but umm it's horrible for you.... Who am I kidding? All of this is but that's not the point. Had the food been fresh & hot, it would've TASTED horribly good & I'd have given it 5 stars but instead it was bad. I'm giving the 1 star bc the gravy was yummy. Oh & I was going to say that the staff is usually really nice but then my next thought was "but forgetful". So, yeah they ARE nice but you HAVE to check your bag for everything before you drive away. 90% of the time, something is missing. We asked for ketchup & Serendipity seasoning. We got home, neither were in the bag w our chewy okra & rolls, chicken nuggets/jerky and yummy gravy. Bright side: They can make yummy gravy! Should it really matter that it is basically just flour, milk, butter, salt & pepper? Pass on by this location. Clog your arteries elsewhere. I wish I had. ;) read more

This place tonight, Saturday arrived at 9pm, was pathetic. 1st Order placed for 3 drumstick dinner with 3 jalapeños. 2nd was 2 chicken tenders dinner. No one inside and we were only one inline. Time now 9:17 and the girl comes out empty handed and tells us no drumsticks and if they have to order , it would take 20 minutes. I then just asked for 3 breast to replace drumsticks. 9:25 no chicken yet, 9:30 I decided to go inside. No chicken at all on the counter she tells me they were out if fries so they were waiting for them to cook. I looked around and s manager was closing a bag that I had noticed was full of cooked chicken and take it to the back. On the fries table were boxes of chicken , opened, sitting over on the side. I was given out order and left. Upon getting home , opening up the boxes to find COLD, HARD pieces of dried chicken in one box and 2 of the tiniest, cold chicken tenders in the other. WTF? Sign says closes at 10 not 9 or hell from the look of it earlier. The sad thing was we had just left Bill Millers down the street that we walked in not realizing they were closing in "6" minutes and when we asked about fried chicken, we were told they were out but were happy to drop more in and get it to us. We replied No since we understood they were about to close but they attempted again to let us know that they were happy to drop in and cook us some regardless of almost closed. Not sure how I really feel about this place. The food was decent but it's very strange that there were no prices marked on the walls which is where you would drive through to see them. The chicken was very flavorful but extremely small? This seems to be a theme at all chicken places recently. I know we're all struggling with covid type aftershocks but I think if you're going to make your product much smaller or if you're having trouble getting correct orders then it should be reflected in the prices. The price is by the way we're not posted? I literally had no clue how much my meal was going to cost, even as the girl was writing down my order she was not sure. The only time I got confirmation on the price of my meal was when they brought my receipt out for me to sign LOL However the bright side is, the servers are super cool, very friendly and definitely make the visit worthwhile. There were apparently three of them working the drive-thru and they were all smiles, waving and seemed to be extremely polite to everyone that was in the lines. If not for them I would probably give this one or two stars... WAY TO GO SERVICE! HOPEFULLY BUSHES REALIZES YOU ARE KEEPING THEM A FLOAT!! read more

Here's the deal at this location... the drive through really isn't drive through. You wait at their door and they come out to write form your order. Then you move up in line to pick up your order where they bring it out to your car. They don't use an intercom or the drive through window. On to the food, it was ok. Thankfully mine was made fresh so food was good but I've had better fried chicken so I won't be back. Drive through took way too long and they had my credit card for so long, I'm scared of Cc fraud. read more

By far the slowest bushes I have ever been to. Just sat in the drive through for 25 minutes without anyone even acknowledging us. I've always loved bushes but it's not worth the wait of a sit down restaurant. GOD help you if your coming for tender Tuesday I can only imagine how bad the wait is. I can't believe how badly managed this location must be to miss the mark so badly. I have been to much busier locations and I'm leaving with chicken in 10 minutes. read more

The best chicken place I town. For fast food fried chicken this is one of the best places to do. Gas friendly and food is hot. The only problem is when it is busy you are going to wait a few minutes. As long as my food is hot I'm good. Don't forget the sweet tea. read more

It's a cool spot. Just not fond of paying $7 for a 2 piece. Chicken is an abundant and cheap food. I have had better chicken at churches for half the price. However they come out to the car to take your order. and Mike at this location was a hoot. Funny guy but don't go over board. read more

Have to say that we enjoy eating here, but they really need to lose the credit card charge. It's one thing to have prices continuing to rise, but to slap a service charge on your customers (without even telling me) is an insult. Remove the charge and we may return. read more

Bush's chicken will now charge an additional 3% for using your credit or debit card to have the disappointment of eating their shit food. The chicken was old not made fresh, the fries were over cooked and quite abysmal. Get a drink? Don't expect to have much to drink because they fill it to the top with ice. Seriously there are better places to get fried chicken without being extorted for using your connivence pay. Fuck em! Won't be back ever! They can clean their own tables. I'd rather risk a stabbing at Popeyes chicken than pay 3% extra to this dump of place. Bathrooms are not suitable to take a shit in either. read more

I visited the location off Nacogdoches in San Antonio. Requested the Mgr. Special (3wings a side and drink $7.99). Ordered an add. Roll and requested hot fries and dipping sauce.. .35 for sauce so I decided against it and requested ketchup...NO ketchup so I said sauce instead. This Mgr. Said .35. I replied but you have no ketchup. I love less than 5 minutes from restaurant, get home and I have warm fries and warm chicken. So disappointed! Taking it back! My referral smh told me to try the special!. Never again read more

So up until today I was all for this location. I was on thousand oaks and was going to go to that location. However, I saw a review about them serving old mash potatoes and roaches in there flour on Google. No way I'm eating somewhere after knowing that so I drove to this one since I was craving Mac n Cheese and Mash Potatoes. I get my food and head home and half way through my mash potatoes I see a hair. At first I thought it was mine but when I go to remove it I start pulling and a LONG strain of hair, NOT MINE comes right out of my mash potatoes cup! Anyone making food should where hair nets! I was really disappointed and it ruined my whole Appétit. Upset I wasted my gas and money to get someone else's HAIR in my food...just nasty. Needless to say I will only get sweet tea going forward.. Thankfully you can't mess that up. read more

So disappointing. Bush's use to be our go to for take out. Quality and customer service was hit or miss but nothing that was so bad that we wouldn't go back. Then they took their prices off the menu and I swore I wouldn't go back. How do you order food and not know your total until after you've paid for it? NO WHERE ELSE DOES THIS. You can ask for a paper menu which is inconvenient and who knows it those are actual prices until after the fact. Well tonight we needed something quick and my husband stopped for the kids. NOW on top of not knowing the prices I'm being charged 3% for using my debt card. I get the receipt and was over $17 for a 6 piece tender meal and an extra order of fries. Ridiculous $17 for one meal. Their chicken is nothing fancy..these fries are nothing fancy..rolls yep nothing fancy. Definitely not worth $17. No thank you. Not again! read more

Packed is an understatement! I know it was Saturday night and the staff was truly hustling. Staff killed it! Remember to tip! The staff is why I gave the 2 stars. Normally the other Locations have great food! Fresh, hot and crispy. Was told they only had 3 wings left and that chicken would be another 12 minutes. I said no worries. 25 minutes later the sweet girl came to my door and brought me our order. Sadly....soggy okra, old and stale and freezer burnt corn nuggets, tenders were just pieces that seemed to be leftovers and were cold and fries were cold as well. The regular chicken was hot and fresh and the buffalo fries were as well because they had to be made to order at the time. The rest was a disappointment at $60! read more

Nacogdoches location has horrible customer service, they forgot my side order and did not apologize, said I'd have 3 days to pick up my order. Way over priced. Charged me extra for gravy not knowing it came with a huge gravy already. When I questioned the extra charge of gravy, the manager Makayla told my I should read the menu. Very very disappointed and will not return to this location. Tenders are bite sized, cold, and definitely not worth 35.00 for 16 piece. read more

It took them 40 minutes to bring me my food after charging my card. I pulled up 3rd in line, as other cars where pulling up instead of bring the food for those that paid the only runner was taking orders. None of the food was fresh either, it was not even warm and I live 5 minutes away from their location. They don't have prices on the wall and they don't provide receipts, I was missing a side but since I don't know if I pay or not because they don't have prices or give you a receipt figure couple bucks wasn't worth the trouble. I also didn't go back because I have an air fryer so that help me heat up the food. Won't be going back anytime soon, since their new way of working seems scammy, specially since they don't provide receipts. read more

This is for all locations. It's absolutely ridiculous that the prices are that high for dry chicken.

Folks have told me that this is the best fried chicken ever! Not for me! I think Bill Miller's is better. I ordered 2 piece meal with okra and tea. The cost was around $6.50. The chicken was very crispy, but too salty for my taste. The okra tasted like it was fried in old oil. I will say that their rolls are the best I have ever had at a fast food place. They are slightly sweet and buttery. They taste homemade. They should offer strawberry jam to go with them. Thanks, but I will stick to Bill Miller's fried chicken which tastes better and is cheaper... read more

42.00 for 10 piece and 2 sides with a service fee!!!! The chicken was very dry. I will not be ordering any more from Bush's

I was very unhappy with my order last night. I guess Wing Wednesday is no longer a thing and the wings seem to be suffering. I got a three piece meal with wings and mashed potatoes. The wings were not freshly cooked by any means. And the potatoes had no seasoning. The chicken tenders I got for my dad and my son were a combination of new and old, big and small - no consistency in taste or looks what so ever. And the cream gravy was just luke warm if that. The fries were not cooked through. We also were not given any utensils, napkins, straws, anything at all. I'm just so disappointed. Not money well spent last night at all. read more

I love fried chicken so my perception may be skewed just a tad. I like that there is more variety now with another fried chicken place. I've gotten my orders here to go many times and never cared to dine in because most of the time it's for a group of people. Great flavor, love the fries and mashed potatoes and rolls too. Chicken was done nicely, but there was absolutely no flavor to the breading. Would be great if you could order spicy or regular chicken! Green beans had a nice bacon-y flavor, and the cream gravy wasn't too bad, although a bit too thick for my taste. Potatoes were instant, but I expected that. Jalapeño Poppers were made with canned, pickled jalapeños and were terrible. Loved the fried apple pies, though! As a whole, the meal wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't anything to write home about. Pretty average fast food chicken fare. read more

Very impress. First time at a bushes chicken and you can tell they take the time out to clean all their condiment bottles. With so many people eating with their hands that makes me feel a lot better not picking up dirty bottles. My boyfriend asked for a piece of gizzard to try for the next time and the manager/supervisor gave him one without hesitations. Most of all they were quick and didn't act like they totally hate their job. Bush's is the best "Texas Only" chicken place. Chicken is really, really good! Always fresh. I've been to several Bush's around TX and San Antonio - I have never had a bad experience or meal. There are many fast food chains that sell chicken but Bush's is the best. Support local companies by stopping by Bush's. Their drive-thru takes a little getting used to but it's faster than ANY drive-thru and certainly more customer-centered. (Don't forget to tip your server) :-) read more
