Food prices nearly tripled. This used to be a nice place for people looking for good, tasty food at an Affordable Price, but no longer. I always forget to review this place, it's my goto food stop between Austin and Abilene, yes it's a chain, no I've never eaten at another to compare it with, all I know, is the food is damn good, and compared to most places I tend to frequent, it's cheap. The chicken batter is way better than KFC or Chicken express, AND I love good fried okra as much as my undying love for good onion rings, and the okra here, it's "Da Bomb", as a good friend of mine from from the east coast would say. The give you a full bottle of honey at every table, the proper way to approach this, is to scoot all your okra, or chicken to one side of your plate, and then liberally pour a nice amount onto the empty space, then dip your chicken, and fresh dinner roll (that comes with every meal) into your little puddle of sticky sweet nectar of the gods, and enjoy. Would I recommend? Yes Is the food good? Always Is the price right? Yup Did I forget to take a photo again? "Sigh" yes.. Do they hire really cute girls to work the counter. First time trying. Friendly service. Ladies at the drive thru window were so nice , they even had a dog biscuit for our fur babies. We got tenders . Chicken was hot and juicy . So were fries and okra. Loved the gravy. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. read more

I was driving through and decided to stop here not knowing what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised the service was amazing the workers had such a positive attitude and the food was extremely fresh. Also my food was ready before I was even done paying for it. I have been to multiple Bush's Chickens this location was remarkable. If I ever drive through here again I will definitely stop by. Absolutely horrid. Full kitchen staff at 6pm on a Tuesday night. Sat in drive-thru for almost 20 minutes and never had our order taken. We even pulled up to the window to see what the hold up was. We were never acknowledged and there were two lines wrapped around building. No one ever came out to take orders. While waiting at window, I could easily spot over half the kitchen staff working without masks on. Handling food and cooking without gloves. Completely unsatisfactory. Management should be ashamed of how the establishment is being ran. read more

The chicken was good, however drivethru line was over 30 minute wait, got home to no rolls, I understand to wait esp for a 30 tender order and when your bill is over 50 bucks but over 30 minutes and the meal wasnt complete, isnt first time ive waited over 30 minutes in this drive thru other bushes chicken do not have this problem just this location in my opinion, I suggest if u dont have over 30 minutes to wait go to another bushes it still be quicker. It's hard to find a good food stop on a road trip, and we're always tempted to stay with the known quantity, no matter how unappealing it would be otherwise. You know which "restaurants" I mean. So we drove outside our comfort zone to try this place, led by my adventurous husband. Bush's has an old-fashioned chicken menu served in modern style, with a drive-through and a small eat-in area furnished with McBooths, for those who actually want a break from the car. My family selected meals from the various fried chicken tenders and pieced meals, served with rolls and choice of sides, aka fixin's (country fries, mashed potatoes, fried okra, corn on the cob, gravy, jalapeno poppers, pepper poppers, etc). The fried okra was especially delicious, speaking from personal experience. I don't eat chicken, but I was content with a few sides. You can order your chicken in individual combo meals, with rolls only, or in family value combo meals that vary from a 2-piece to 15-piece or 30-tender, and for the more adventurous (or the lucky pet), they offer a liver/gizzard meal as well. I can't imagine. There are three kids' meals, which offer a base of 2 chicken tenders, a chicken leg, or mac and cheese, and an option of a fruit cup or a cookie with a drink. Which brings me to the drinks. Besides the usual array of sodas and various "ades," Bush's advertises their "famous iced tea" (sweet or unsweet) for .69 for a huge 32 oz. I had to read that twice to make sure, then we all ordered one. It tastes absolutely fresh-brewed, as if it's just been poured from that pot on your grandmother's stove. I drank all of mine and part of my daughter's after she fell asleep in the back seat. So the family dog and I do have a few things in common, including food thievery. That memorable iced tea was the reason we stopped there again on the way home. The desserts consist of cinammon apple pie or Blue Bell ice cream, served alone or in a float. Or both. So there you go. Having a yummy stop like this on your travel map can make your journey seem a little shorter, or at least a little more interesting. read more

Worst service ever. Placed an order for 15 piece Family Meal with sides of Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Was told it would be 15 minutes before the chicken would be ready. I asked if I had time to run another quick errand and was told I did. Gave the server my name and left. When I returned 20 minutes later the chicken was ready, but was informed some else had pulled my mac and cheese and they didn't have anymore. It was 8 PM on a Friday evening and they were out of mac and cheese. The manager said I didn't know! What a poor excuse. This is not the first time this location has ran out of mac and cheese early in the evening. Poor management! I like their foor, when I can get it. Will go to Copperas Cove from now on. read more

If you go after around 7pm, you're likely to get chicken "jerky". It's been left under the heat lamp because they close at 9 and don't want any thing left. If you get there after 8, the selection is VERY poor. And CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE you drive away. Some of them seem to have a sense of humor. read more

My advice is to avoid this establishment at all cost. If your choices are Bush's or starving - I encourage the latter of the two. It's not the food that's bad - but rather an indifferent staff that ignore customers standing at the counter. A simple acknowledgement would have gone a long way and to keeping my business. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We went to this Bush's for dinner and NEVER again will we step into this place. First, the guy taking our order seemed really put out that he had to wait 30 seconds for us to decide which family meal we wanted. When we first walked in there was a family of 6 with a beautiful little girl who said hi to everyone who walked in. When they left and the rude order taking man came to clean the tables off, he made the remark "people should leave their kids at home." He proceeded to sweep the tables off, yes, I said sweep, with a broom! The people who were working, including the young manager, were yelling at each other, I heard the word "retard" used several times, along with several choice words I'd rather my two sons not hear. I should have expected the bathroom to be nasty considering how they clean tables. There was trash all over the floor and both toilets were covered with urine and it smelled awful. I will steer anyone I come in contact with away from this place!!! read more
