BEST BREAKFAST TACOS EVER!!! We have gone to El Corral since before it built its beautiful near restaurant! It was a quick drive thru only then and ALWAYS fast and delicious. The new building is set in a nice little area, across from city hall, next door to the NEW vehicle registration building. The window always stays busy but they have some great seating inside and outside, in their fab restaurant. Food is always perfect, great staff and prices are reasonable. Every to go order had missing food. We gave many chances but finally have given u. When you directly ask the employees if they made sure a particular food item was in the bag and that employee answers that "yes, it is there", we expect it to be there. It wasn't one time, 2 times, 3 times- it is each AND every time we purchase. I should not have to direct the bag in order to verify that the business actually gave me the items I faithfully paid for!! Also, refried beans are sometimes so old that they are sour! NASTY! We have ordered charro beans and had them do watery, there was very little taste. The restaurant prices aren't cheap. For the price they charge, I would expect that, at the very least, they could get the beans correct! read more

We ordered take out & when we got home we realized they gave us a part of someone else's order & were missing 2 plates...took me several explanations to finally get the lady over the phone to understand what we got & what we were missing. We walked in, and our first greet was " for here or to go" we replied " for here " The waitress rudely said " go sit any where " And then we go look for a table and every single one is dirty with food, and water or whatever beverage was spilled, And she comes back with menus my husband asked " could we get you to wipe the table down for us?" She reply's extremely rude after rolling her eyes " I can go have the buss boy do it " and aggressively puts our menus and silverware on the dirty table. We wait for another 5- minutes and still nothing, we got up and took our business elsewhere where. I'm not sure why she had such attitude when all we wanted was a clean table which Is standard protocol for new customers. Keep in mind they were not busy at all maybe 4 other customers. The food tasted excellence, customer service zero took 30 minutes to get my food. I sat there and watched every single person that came after me get their food before me, and I sat there for 10 minutes was not even offered a glass of water or anything. I was just ignored and left to sit ther! when I spoke to their manager, his response was at least your food was hot. Service was fast I had the regular breakfast w eggs bacon hash brown and toast. Serving size was huge! Shirley decided to do the unwrapped burrito and had two tacos (soft) on side. Delicious. A very popular place to the point that the drive through literally wraps around the building. The outdoor patio of the weather wasn't so wet is very nice with a hanging chair plenty of tables and a beautiful tile floor. read more

I was injured by hot Salsa when the servicer dropped it on my table. The sauce ended up in my jacket sleeve where I was burned. The manager was very condescending, did not want to even take my name and number, and I ask for an owner's name which is refused to give me. I was even given the ticket to pay in full, with a tip. At least it could have been compensated, but no. This business is not a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, and the owners are doing all they can to avoid liability. I've had my fair share of Mexican food since I've lived in Texas my whole life and now live in San Antonio where you can throw a rock in any direction and you'd hit a Mexican restaurant. We decided to come and visit my parents in Cove and instead of cooking we opted for some Mexican food for breakfast because...well...who doesn't love Mexican food for breakfast? Looking through yelp, this place had great reviews so we decided on El Corral. The menu choices from the yelp pictures looked promising. We ordered the Western Omelet, Steak and Eggs, Migas Plate and sausage and egg tacos. Here is my assessment of each plate: - Sausage & Egg taco: The sausage in the egg taco was more like the jimmy dean sausage you get from the grocery store and grounded up and fully Mixed with the eggs. There was No seasoning and the tortillas did not appear to Homemade! - Steak and Egg- the steak was inedible! It was so chewy and tough that my Husband had to stop Eating it. He felt like he was eating beef jerky. The flavor of the ranchero sauce seemed like they got it from a can/jar instead of homemade. - Migas: one of the worst I have ever eaten! The cheese seemed like some sort of melted velveeta cheese like substance. The tortillas were so soggy, there was absolutely no crunch to anything. I found egg shells in my Eggs and they used the same, what seemed like jarred salsa, in it. The bacon was inedible! Completely burnt! We did try it though and it tasted fishy! Did they fry this in fish oil??? - Western Omelet: it was cooked well, the filling was good and flavorful. My father enjoyed it very much! I would not recommend this place for anything breakfast! I might be spoiled with my south Texas Mexican cuisine but this place didn't hold up to the reviews. This might be good for central Texas but certainly wouldn't make it in San Antonio. read more

My daughter and I drove from Lampasas to eat here and when we walked in it was 9:30pm, the door says they close at 10pm. we found a spot to sit and a very young man comes to our table and says, " Um, we are closed." Got a new male server last night, it was not a good experience. We felt rushed as he brought the check before we were even finished eating, tried to take the empty check book before we were ready to pay (as we were still eating), and took plates 2 seconds after we finished our food. Got stared at the entire time until we got up to leave! On top of that, we watched the bartender drop a piece of silverware on the floor when they were rolling it up and place it back in the bin to be rerolled! (ew??) The food is okay but it's not great. I got lunch here for my lunch break and was pleasantly surprised! My coworker brought me here and we weren't aware that it was drive-thru only (I'm not sure that's still the case). I couldn't see the menu from the passenger seat in my coworkers car, so I ordered a Chicken Quesadilla because it's always a safe choice. We also ordered Queso to share! I really enjoyed my quesadilla! It was delicious and I also loved the rice! The Queso and chips were also very tasty. I did not give this a "5 Star" rating because of the following: Food - Excellent Service - Excellent Cleanliness - Excellent Ambiance - Excellent Price - Reasonable (for these days and times). However: They charged me $1.00 for a very small (2 oz) serving of sour cream to supplement the very small amount of sour cream that came with my entree (Double shrimp casadilla). They charged me $1.33 for paying for my meal with a debit card. There are no signs or information posted revealing that paying with a debit/credit card would incur additional costs. So, I figure $2.33 in "frivolous" charges warrants -2 Stars. I WILL NOT be going back to this local establishment due to the frivolous charges, regardless of all of the other excellent aspects. read more

The person at the drive thru could not get my order right so after 4 tries I finally pulled up to the window and placed my order, this was after waiting 20 minutes for the vehicles in front of us to get served.
