Kind of a local joint and an upscale dive bar. Decent enough, off I-95, stop to eat while traveling type of place. I was a bit surprised too walk in to find it pretty packed with the only person in the place wearing pandemic mask was the waitress. We walked through, masked up of course, to get a table outside. We were the only people outside for the hour we sat and ate although a good dozen people parked and passed us outside to get to the front entrance. My burger, the special of the month, was just ok as the Korean toppings were odd after all and the bottom bun soggily disintegrated into an ooze. The mixed green side replacement to the fries was good but the balsamic vinaigrette didn't seem to be a correct mixture and was nearly total acidity from vinegar. My wife's salad with shrimp was "a bag salad" basically according to her. The skimpy bagged plastic utensils and a single thin napkin that I see so commonplace during Covid-19 should really be reconsidered by any establishment outside of cheap fast food. I must say the best part was pretty good and friendly service by our waitress. And she brought unsolicited napkins later on! read more

So this is actually my first review, but long time yelper... This place is awesome, might have been the best burger I ever had, probably 20 different kinds. The only reason I took a star away is because after 9 on Fridays at least they have a band and it's loud! At least in the dinning room and we had the furthest table from them couldn't imagine being closer. P.s a guy named tiny who was a bit intimidating when walking in the door, ended up being a great guy, the made a mistake on my drink order and he brought me a new one on the house. This little tavern is the best pub in town.it is small, but it packs a punch. The staff is amazing, the bartender will keep you entertained, and they take good care of you. Bushmill's has the outside appearance of a "hole in the wall" bar. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Their menu is extensive and filled with many delicious options. Never would have known this place was here if it wasn't for Yelp. Good number of beer options, enough the waitress asks what do you like and gave me a number of options. Service was great. Got seated right away and had a beer in minutes. Came in wanting a burger however a number of options that almost made me change my mind. However the Buffalo Popper burger was amazing. Ordered it medium like buffalo should be and that is how they brought it out. Once it like my drinks came out quick. Finished the meal off with a "famous" Strawberry lemonade (mixed drink). I love lemonade which this had none of it it. However spot on and went down smooth. Pool table in the back, bar is busy but not packed, and dining are just as busy. Neighborhood bar with not much parking during busy nights. The intersection makes it a very dangerous place to enter and exit from. Once inside it's a little rundown but the service is fairly decent. We came here due to the high ratings but were disappointed. The water didn't quite taste right. I can't explain it but maybe it was either unfiltered or the ice was old. We ordered the brussel sprouts which were good. We got the cheddar crab soup. It was decent but salty. My tacos (shrimp/tuna and my friend's tacos were also good but our other friend ordered Hot Turkey Platter and it was not eatable. It was so salty that I had to flush my mouth. We went Bushill Tavern based on the reviews. We did not have a good experience. Our waitress was ok, she took her time taking our order. What concerns me is that she completely forgot our appetizer. As a result, our meal arrived and I had to ask where the appetizer was. The food was bland, not anything worth enduring bad service for. The entire time we ate, she raced by our table, never stopping to give us an update on the appetizer or apologize. She was so glib, she acted like she was doing us a favor by waiting on us. I finally flagged her down and said forget the appetizer, can we have the check. When she brought the check, she proceeded to try to race away and I knew she wouldn't come back for quite some time, wasting my time. I paid the bill so we could leave. We will not return. read more

I was in town on a work trip and wanted to stop in somewhere fun to get a bite to eat and a drink. When I walked in on a Thursday there was a pretty rowdy crowd there but Charlie at the door immediately helped to get me seated, he could tell I was a single gitl by myslef so he went out of his way to get a waitress to help me in the bar area that wasn't her assigned section. Charlie is not a hostess but just the muscle at the door to check IDs and to make sure everything is going right in the bar but he is the sweetest man you will ever meet, I proceeded to have hours-long conversations with him and enjoyed this tavern immensely because of him. I even had to take a phone call outside and he kept opening the door to the parking lot to make sure I was okay. The food is really great(I had a burger with a crab cake on top and duck fat fries!), the music is good, but the people like Charlie is what makes a place great! read more

The Bushmill Tavern is probably one of the coolest places in Harford County. They someone have been able to combine the feel of a bar like 'Cheers' where everybody knows your name, and a hipster restaurant you would find in Hamden. The food is delicious and you never know what will be on the menu for their special. You could find duck, to another rare treat, and also just grab a burger if you like. Everything I have had is delicious and honestly, their soups are extra special. They really go hard on their soup choices. As for atmosphere, it really is a cool place. You have bikers, professionals, hipsters, young and old all mingling together. Don't even get me started how much I love their karaoke night. Been coming here for quite a while, always a great place to eat, drink and have a good time. The food is always amazing. For a bar & grill that specializes in burgers, it's very common for you to find everything grace their specials board from filet mignon & crab imperial to crazy tacos and sandwiches. The best phrase to describe it is delicious eclectic. If you've never been, order the duck fat fries as an appetizer, and if anything on the specials board sounds good...get it! They are always delicious, and change daily. Probably the only negative thing I can say is if you see a special you want to try, and don't...you'll probably miss your chance. Very good reason to follow on Facebook and see what's going and what they are serving on any given day. Speaking of the specials, the main reason I wanted to write, I'm not sure what you've done different at Bushmill, but lately the specials have been off the hook! The wife and I were in on Saturday, she had the Steak Oscar, myself the turkey burger. Both were amazing, the hollandaise was obviously homemade, and the turkey burger was the moistest one I've ever tried. It just seemed for a little while this last spring that things kinda went the "same old, same old". Nothing was bad or wrong with them just felt bland. We've driven by this place many times but a Deal Here Coupon finally brought us in to check it out and we have been back several times since. Don't be discouraged by outer appearances, this place is far more than your local bar, the food is delicious and the staff is awesome. They have daily specials along with nightly food specials and activities like Paint Night, Trivia Night, etc. and they serve food until 11 pm. So far our absolute favorite menu item is the Capn' Crunch Chicken - it's the perfect combination of sweet and savory, lightly dusted with powdered sugar and a side of honey mustard for dipping - trust me, you have to try this stuff. We have tried several of the burgers and quesadillas and all have been very good but our top choices are the Black & Blue Burger and the Crab Quesadilla. The Shanghai Tacos are also quite yummy but I would really prefer if instead of crispy shrimp they were blackened. This place has quickly become one of our go-to's on Tuesday date night, even though it is a little over 20 miles from our home, it is well worth the trip - great food at an awesome price. read more

Bushmill Tavern is a great neighborhood pub and grill. Its friendly atmosphere offers karaoke, billiards, keno, as well as some TVs for your football pleasure. To eat, we've tried the duck fat fries, pulled pork nachos, crab dip in a bread bowl, Old Bay wings, and fresh pretzel knots with cheese. ALL of it was very tasty, and we look forward to trying other items on the menu. My only complaint is the service. The first time around, it took us five minutes to order a drink (and it wasn't that busy). The second time around, the waitress was more intent on talking with her fellow wait staff that we had to get her attention twice. And the last time around, after being served my requested water, I didn't see the waitress after ten minutes of just sitting at one of the bar tables. The food in this place was amazing the first 3 times my group of friends went here. They had the "kens honey mustard" which is yummy and they had a beer battered chicken that was delicious. HAD... We stopped in the other night and they have downgraded their honey mustard to something watery and full of spices to make up for it and the chicken went from awesome beer battered BIG pieces to some shriveled up and over spiced chicken you'd expect from a 2nd rate frozen dinner. I had the Bushmill burger the first 3 time we went here and it was nothing short of amazing so I figured I'd try a different burger. I can remember the name of the burger but it had an egg on it and was not the same consistency of meat as the 3 previous trips and to be 100% real - it was rather watery, messy, and lacking taste. As for the service - I can not compliment our waitress enough. I can't recall her name but she's rather petite / blond and she was top of her game in making sure food was there at the same time and the drinks were filled at all times. It's really a shame to see a small restaurant go from an 8 or 9 on a scale of 10 to a 2 maybe 3. I went to the Bushmill Tavern for lunch because I was craving a burger. I am so excited that I chose this place because Oh-Em-Gee! Yes! To start off I went at around 1145 am and there were a lot of bikers there getting ready to ride and just hanging out... It made me nostalgic of my childhood when I used to go to my Mom's biker bar that she used to own. Anyways, on to the rest... A very homey bar/restaurant, tavern. The waitress was very nice and on top of her job! I believe it was the owner (nice gentleman in his biker vest) that came to my table to make sure I had a brunch menu (I think that's pretty awesome!). I ended up ordering the mushroom and Swiss burger, medium, along with duck fat fries (yes!). The burger tasted amazing and was cooked just to order (medium). And the duck fat fries! Yes!! Perfectly seasoned and cooked in fresh oil along with garlic aoli sauce. Probably the best duck fat fries that I've EVER had. I wish I would've taken a picture but I was so eager to dive in to my basket that it completely slipped my mind. I would definitely return to the Bushmill Tavern, day or night just for the food. Great spot for food in the area. They have quite a few different burgers on the menu and all of them look great. They also have a board of rotating daily specials. They don't hold back on portions here even with their fairly low pricing. I got an order of nachos with pulled pork which is enough for at least 4 people. I also got the A Bomb burger which uses grilled cheeses as buns and it was excellent and quite large. If you are hungry you won't be disappointed. The only thing I think they can improve is their beer selection which is a little limited but they do have some craft offerings. read more

Just moving to the state of Maryland we have looked for good local places to eat and this place is amazing! You would think you are getting "bar" food but the food you get is fine dining quality! This has turned into on of our favorite places to eat! When you see the prices you might think at first it's overpriced for this place but once you get your food you realize that it was worth what you paid for it.
