Grumpy's is a local favorite that is friendly for out of towners. Their food was so good I went back 2 nights in a row during a business trip. It has a relaxed vibe with a family sports bar feel, highly recommend as a n Aberdeen staple.

My hubby and I flew into town for one night to support our son play baseball - Brooklyn Cyclones vs. Ironbirds. Arrived starving and searched restaurants close by and the name got us right away plus we like to support local. We walked in and the rest was history!!! Great staff, great food, great cocktails and the bar patrons were so awesome! We will be back anytime in the area! Even had to bring a little grumpy attire home with me Let's go Mets #Hamel

Not fancy, just good food. Lots of crab options, which are my favorite. Good crab dip, heavy on the cream cheese, but great flavor.

Service was good. Crab cake was decent, fries were very bland and the mashed potatoes were terrible ! The texture was like rubber.

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

We have been going to The Whip for over 10 years now…read more THE #1 reason we keep going back is the staff. All of the staff make every meal a dining experience. The ambiance is great, especially in the warm weather, outside. The food is ALWAYS delicious, thanks to Dillon. Sarah and Tania are on top of their game behind the bar. It is a tiny building but they are doing it right! There is complimentary valet parking which was great because I have no idea where we would have parked. We were seated at exactly 4:30, and our server was friendly and fast. RJ and I ordered Downeast Peach Mango Cider which was refreshing and delicious. We started with crab and artichoke dip and beef and weck eggrolls, and our table ordered 2 fish and chips, the "Luxury" seafood pie, shepherd's pie, and the beef on weck sandwich. My weck included onions, mushrooms, swiss, and bacon with a side of au jus and horseradish. Yum, what a salty, savory, spicy combo. The roast beef was very tender and juicy. The fish and chips were all enjoyed, as were both pies. We did not make it to dessert but will try that again another time. We were in and out in about 1 hour without being rushed at all. We will definitely return to the Whip!

Yesterday, my friend and I took a bike ride around town, and then stopped in for an appetizer and a beverage. It was about 2:30 on the afternoon on a Friday, yet there was a nice gathering of folks enjoying themselves. We were promptly served, and left alone while we browsed the menu. My friend ordered the blackened ahi tuna starter, which she proclaimed bright with flavor and prepared exactly as requested (extra rare). I chose the cream of crab soup, which might be the best I've ever eaten, full of huge lumps of crab meat, delicately flavored with Old Bay, but not too salty. I would've preferred it a tad thinner, but it was not too thick to enjoy. Since I love meatballs, I also ordered the Margherita meatballs, and they were delicious! Three medium sized meatballs, tasting like your Italian Nonna made them, with a rich Sunday sauce and a sprinkling of parmesan. Yum yum yum. My friend and I also decided to splurge on a plate of onion rings, neither of us having had them for a long while. They came out overdone (or left under a lamp too long) and were burned around the edges. One bite and yuck. No worries, our bartender said she'd get them to make us another plate. The second plate came out looking perfectly, and we enjoyed a few, however, they were rather bland and lacked some flavor. Nonetheless, our experience was delightful and our dissatisfaction with the onion rings was not enough to take off a star from my rating. Havre de Grace is a charming small town at the base of the Susquehanna River where it meets the Chesapeake Bay. Come visit, browse the cute shops, and stop in Coakley's for some delicious food, expert cocktails and local energy.

We have had many experiences at Snatcher's, I think it's about time I left a review…read more Snatcher's is a small family owned business that never fails to disappoint. Service is always great. The food is always fantastic. We have yet to have a negative experience at Snatcher's. On a warm evening, we prefer to sit outside next to the creek and enjoy a well priced pint of Loose Cannon overlooking the little stream. I love their specials. We have on multiple occasions ordered the pretzels with cheese and the dip was homemade. It doesn't sound like a big deal but if you've been served your fill of canned nacho cheese, you can appreciate a well made, house crafted dip. I also love their crab melt. As a Marylander for life, I love my crab. Can't get enough. Pathetic crab cakes break my heart. The very thought of crab on an English muffin sounds horrific but somehow, Snatcher's manages to pile on the most tasty lump crab imperial with melted cheese on a toasted English muffin in a way that makes me come back again and again. It is so good. Another classic not to be missed is the hangover burger. They will cook the burger to your choice of temp (which is my personal baseline for restaurants I will return to) and it's got a fried egg and bacon on it. Yes please! I would highly recommend Snatcher's to any friends and family looking for a good meal and great service at affordable prices. Arrive early - seating is limited and the place fills up fast.
