My main water line burst causing a gusher leak. I was able to shut off water at the meter. Based on their ratings I called Burtech, they sent someone out the next day who found the problem. I needed to run a new main line, which was dependent on a digging crew. Fortunately they were able to rig up a temp feed so we had toilets and running water. Total cost seemed to be in the ballpark of other quotes. Job completed in 1 day and everything is up an running again. Great job. read more

We originally reached out to Burtech via Yelp to request a quote to have them come and fix a clogged shower drain. Bill responded right away, and actually provided me a quote, and it was extremely reasonable. We were able to schedule someone to come out the following weekday. The plumber who came out for the service was very nice and finished the job quickly. He was honest, and let us know that the pipe should be replaced, but that unclogging it would work for now. We didn't feel like he was pushing the suggestion on us at all, which is appreciated. Ultimately, we decided that since we had the pipe exposed, it makes sense to replace it. We reached out on Yelp again, and Bill was again quick to respond. They were able to schedule coming out the next day to replace the pipe. They wore masks while they were here, they were friendly, and communicated well. The pipe was replaced for a reasonable price; overall it was a good experience. read more

Had a slow shower drain. Called Burtech because 3.5 years ago they came out and snaked it 30' for $50. 2 stars because technician did come out on time and quickly snaked it 30' to clear clog. No drama. Taking 3 stars off because charged $125 this time, claiming "inflation." That's a 150% increase which is way beyond inflation. Wouldn't give an estimate over the phone. Making it worse, he didn't bother to tell me there is an $89 special for drain cleaning they are offering. I didn't do my homework on that, just went with them because they were reasonable previously. My mistake. Oh what fun to wake up Labor Day holiday and find a puddle of water on your laundry room floor! My 50 gallon water heater had stopped working and water began to pour out of it. I called Burtech Plumbing and immediately got a service call set up for a couple hours out. Bill Schramm called me back and gave me instructipns on what to do to prevent major flooding of my house. I hooked up a garden hose to the hookup at the bottom of the water heater and turned off the water supply. Thank you Bill! The technician/ plumber, Steven Ernst arrived half an hour early, was very personable and skilled. He went right to work, removed the old water heater, replaced and upgraded all the pipes and fittings, and installed the new water heater. Dave was great. Not the easiest job, with a hard to find part, done at a good price and with high quality.

I don't know whose idea it was to build pipes out of cast iron 60 years ago. What started as a clogged pipe became a broken pipe, requiring replacement all the way back to the main line. Gino and Bill worked with me through the whole process, discussing the options and trying to find the simplest solution for me. In the end, we had to jackhammer through the foundation and cut through interior and exterior walls. But they were accountable, reliable, and did good work. They were respectful of our time and space, and cleaned up their mess. We placed a liner for the remaining section of line, as well. The liner guys were a bit of yahoos, but did their job, even if they did make a mess of the house. While Burtech doesn't do the wall repairs or replacing tile, they were upfront about that, and they did refill the holes and pour the concrete, and offered to come back to reinstall the vanity and toilet after the floor is fixed. Gino even came back to replace our angle stops at no charge (where the water lines attach to the wall) on his time off. A hugely painful process overall, but if I had to go through it again, I would go with Burtech. read more

Had a hot water pipe leak in our ceiling one night during the COVID-19 lockdown. Called Burtech first thing in the am and they had Mike C there within an hour. After looking at the problem and giving us a quote (quite reasonable) he had it fixed by 11am. Mike was kind enough to wear a mask the whole time (even though he was breathing quite hard while working in the ceiling) and was careful to touch as little as possible around the house since we have an at-risk, elderly person in the house.
