I'm really disappointed when businesses reduce portion sizes like this. I would much rather see a price increase than a noticeable shrinkage in portions. This used to be my go to place for Mexican food, and still is for dine in, but carryout has gotten crazy with pricing. I don't mind paying for an eat in experience because their margaritas are very good, as well as the food, and the staff is friendly. We brought two of our family members here to dine in. We had previously had carry out and it was great so we felt this was a good place to take them. I had the Steak Burrito Suizo Dinner. It was delicious. My wife that the Enchiladas. Hers was good as well. Our guests were not so satisficed. They have a history of not being able to please though. So they were disappointed. The margaritas were not as good as I expected them to be. Neither my brother in law or myself cared for them. They had a grainy taste as though this mix was made from a powder. I am not a fan of spicy and while not too hot, after a few I knew the heat would accumulate so I backed off that. The margarita wasn't bad and did not have the fake after taste. For a place in the south chicago suburbs, especially not one with a predominant Latin population, this place has pretty decent traditional foods. The sopa was great for warming me up even on a hot day. The chips came out fresh and the salsas that were given were alright. The quessabirria was the dish that made this review high. The broth was rich, but what stole the show was the goat meat. It was tender, and it just made me feel happy. The fried ice cream was a great dessert to end on, they made their own version of a "strawberry purée" which was a fun addition. The service was alright. Nothing special, but not horrible. Burrito Jalisco needs to step it up so that they have better and more consistent food. The quality of the steak tacos seems to differ widely, perhaps based on whoever is doing the cooking that day. At times I've gotten 5-star steak tacos and other times they're as low as 2-star with fatty pieces of grizzle, super greasy tortillas, and sub par toppings. In this instance where we had the tacos delivered, they were decent but clearly lacking in the tomato department. Don't list tomatoes as a topping if you're going to put half of one slice on each taco. Come on. Also, please keep the shredded cheese up on top of the lettuce w the tomatoes. I don't want it melted down below mixed in w the meat - and it's not always served this way. Again, consistency is an issue. Sadly, this place has fallen even further. We tried it again yesterday. The food was good and the service was fine, but this review is about the criminally expensive and not good "alcoholic" beverages. All four of us ordered a margarita. For some reason they don't list prices on the menu, nor do they make the sizing clear. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita (turns out I don't think the waitress heard my order correctly, so I'm not sure what order was placed for me). My sister ordered the exact same thing and received what looked like a frozen strawberry margarita. Mine looked like a jar of red syrup on the rocks, and tasted like it too. The other two in our party both ordered pineapple margaritas on the rocks with Tajin. They received what looked like accurate drink orders, but had not a trace of pineapple taste and no detectable alcohol. All of these were "small" 16oz drinks, by the way, only because I asked about size and found out the waitress presumed we wanted 32oz. Why would that giant size be the standard? Once we got the bill we found out those small, undrinkable drinks cost us $16.99 each!!! That is an outrageous price for a cocktail in Orland Park, IL even if it was decent, let alone when it has no alcohol and no taste and when mine wasn't even the correct order - not that they seem capable of making it correctly anyway. Called my order in tonight, spoke to a guy. He put me on hold for 8.25 before I hung up and called back and talked to a woman who just layed the phone down, thankfully. In the neighborhood, the fiancee and I were searching for late night eats (which in the burbs means around 9pm). We didn't see any times posted online, but their door said 11pm so we went in without the guilt that comes from eating at a place that's about to close. There were a few other people there, so we knew it was somewhat popular with the locals. She got a guava margarita which was quite tasty, and I ordered us some nachos Mexicanos to start. Pretty disappointed that it wasn't queso dip and instead was slices of Mexican cheese on top, but it was still pretty good. As the waitress brought out the nachos, she asked if we were ready to order. My fiancee said she'd need a minute. This was a fatal mistake...our waitress just didn't come back. I asked a guy who was serving another table (who looked like the manager) to get our server for us. So he disappeared...then nothing. It wasn't until after I noticed him peeking back at me, as if to see if she actually came, that she finally appeared. I ordered the enchiladas suiza with steak and mole sauce and habanero salsa on the side. There was a bit too much cheese on everything. Obviously the "suiza" meant there'd be cheese, but it was also in the beans and was adding up. The habanero salsa was delicious and brought the heat you don't normally find in small Tex-Mex joints. I also really enjoyed the mole sauce on my enchiladas. The food was very good, but I think we both may have eaten a little too much. Water refill? Only once I managed to flag our waitress down. Then after dropping off the bill they never came back - my fiancee went to the front and paid there (which I'm not sure if it's how they do things, but it was unclear). They used to have Great food here but tonight was not that. We ordered take out: a burrito, tacos and a torta. The burrito had cold meat in the center with a weird crunchy texture. We had to throw it away. The horchata had a powdery consistency and wasn't very tasty. The tacos and torta were edible but the torta barely had any beans. They have several different margarita options to choose from which was delightful. We ended up going with two of the standard sizes they offered. Both margs were satisfying and were on the stronger side. The chips came with two different salsas. One was sweet and the other was smokey with a hot kick! I preferred the hotter one. For the entrees we ordered steak tacos and beef enchiladas with mole sauce. The enchiladas were quite flavorful with the mole sauce being right on point. That being said the steak tacos were moderately dry and somewhat bland. I used salsa to enhance the flavor a bit. Furthermore the rice was slightly undercooked (crunchy). Went back to Jalisco's, no apologies for my inconvenience, etc. I confronted the female manager and she advised "that it could have been my fault for the receiving the wrong food; maybe I told her the wrong thing." After receiving my food the second time, I received lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. I will take full responsibility for continuing to spend my money at Jalisco's after numerous times of not receiving my food the way I asked for it. To the female manager at Jalisco's, please get rid of the attitude and get some customer service skills. I am finally done spending my money at Jalisco's. Called the owner, Lupita, and she was very apologetic and offered me free tacos at the same location, but I choose not to go there anymore because of the manager and repeated mistakes of receiving incorrect food. The kindest staff, like, really lively humans. Drinks at Lupe's bar are always excellent! The restaurant has very nice decor and it's really spacious, clean and a great neighborhood spot. The food is consistent- I've been coming here for several years, and we enjoy the pastor tacos, the chicken flautas, veggie burritos, and of course, the steak!
