The enchiladas verdes are absolutely delicious including the steak taco dinner. You can't go wrong with this place!

10/10 food is always delicious and quick for pick up! Great for last minute dinner. The ladies are always nice and welcoming too.

Always wanted to try this place whenever I'd go to Dominoes. A co-worker recommended. Decided to try I was a bit shocked when looking at the prices on the menu, but since I was already inside and drove here figured I'd try it. Ordered the nachos with meat (steak) and a steak torta with everything. The steak was well seasoned, no grizzly fatty pieces like some other restaurants like to use and very tender. My son enjoyed his torta said the same it was well seasoned. The young lady at the counter was very nice and restaurant was very clean and would go back just for the nachos they were delicious. read more

Tried a steak taco with cilantro onion cheese avocado and it was phenomenal full of flavor and super tender

I ordered the steak nachos. They give you a pretty good amount of meat, but unfortunately it had absolutely no flavor at all. It did not even taste like it was seasoned. The nachos itself also did not have any flavor. Chips were very bland, I could barely taste the cheese. I was very disappointed. My fiancé ordered a steak burrito. I thought his burrito was pretty good, this steak seemed to be seasoned a little bit better. However, still nothing exciting. I don't see us going back. Horchata tasted like it was from a mix you get from jewel. read more

Marias Tacos - Steak nachos - Mexican Near Me - Oak Forest, Illinois

Was so amazed with this business and frequent quite a bit, however, today after a large 60$ plus order we received nothing we wanted. Missing items, completely wrong items. Item not ordered. Very disappointed. Won't be back. read more

Iwas there with my husband and sister we ordered tacos and we couldn't belive almost 100 dollars for tacos 5 dollars almost a tacos see for your self ,food is good but I wouldn't pay this much again for tacos read more

Well there's no spit in it buuuut this is not a repeat place for me . The tacos look appetizing but don't let it fool you. Even though the customer service, cleanliness, and food temperature were adequate I would like the tacos to have flavor. Trying the al pastor, generally a very flavorful and marinated taco meat, tasted like chewing ingredients but don't ask me what it tasted like....idk. Even as hungry as I was, I had to make an effort to finish them. The horchata is chalky and not as sweet as the typical horchata. The prices for the quality do not match at all. read more

Marias Tacos - Al pastor - Mexican Near Me - Oak Forest, Illinois

The Gorditas de al pastor are my go to. Excellent service as it's made to order. Very good food All around, you can't go wrong when eating at Maria's read more

After using Yelp to find some Mexican restaurants in the area, this was one of the places listed. The pictures of the place are a bit misleading, in the pictures the place looks spotless. But after sitting down it look like the place could have used a good cleaning including the restroom. Knowing that I was going to have tacos, there was no reason to look at a menu. There was no menu offered up, bit they have a big dry erase board on the wall with the items offered. From looking at the menu on Yelp to the prices on the board, there has been a price increase. The waitress/cashier brought a basket of warm tortilla chips which nice and crunchy. My plate of tacos came out and first impression was that they were nicely filled. And upon picking one up, they were piping hot. But as others have stated they were kind of bland and the meat was dry. No need to repeat a visit here. read more

I've been going to Maria's since they opened. Always fresh, always great service and always clean.

I love their tacos so much I crave them everyday no joke. I wish more people would check them out!!!!

As with all these type of restaurants just drive a block to the better one. Over priced and over cooked. The meat quality has turned to the grizzly side. read more

Drove all the way here to see they haven't updated there open times . Kind of disappointed!

This place is taking advantage of the soda tax and price gouging. I've been to Marias at least 15 times since I first walked in. I drove past this place for years. I was always scared by the fact that there was no name on the sign. My first impression of the place was that it was a hole in the wall. However, that dive feeling brought back memories of some of my favorite hole in the wall places in Chicago. What's good here? Well I personally enjoy the tacos. I've had bistec, barbacoa, al pastor, lengua and tripas. The hot sauce is good as well Bistec - I'm not a fan of this type of tacos as I prefer true carne asada. But they are decent. Nothing to get excited about, but "for the area" they are good. Al pastor - if you like your pork tacos cooked on a spindle with a pineapple sitting on top these are not it. However, they are still pretty good. Not as good as Al Pastor from El Azador in Chicago, but good. Barbacoa - I tried their barbacoa for the first time a few weeks ago and was surprised at how tasty it was. I had a couple of barbacoa tacos again tonight and it didn't disappoint. Great hidden gem for authentic tacos in the southwest suburbs! The waitress in the evening is super friendly. The day time waitress is not as nice. :0 ( Yes the bathroom is not the cleanest, but it's not the first hole in the wall with a dirty bathroom. Who cares! It's part of the dive experience. I have not had chicken or beef tacos. Not what I order when I go out to eat. read more

Marias Tacos - Barbacoa, tripitas, al pastor! Very good Barbacoa! - Mexican Near Me - Oak Forest, Illinois

Ordered a chicken burrito with just beans and cheese. Better taste than I expected and especially from what the place inside looks like. Couldn't perceive any cheese at all which really was disappointing! If someone is paying $8+ and wants some cheese on it - put some cheese on it! I'll have to try their steak burrito and hope I also get some cheese! They really should hire someone to improve the way the place looks because like I said, I think the food is better than what one would expect by looking at it walking in! read more

Excellent food. We come a long way to get their dinners. Worth the extra effort to get authentic, great Mexican meals. Highly recommend.

If you want authentic, go here. It is my favorite place for tacos in town. Their green sauce to top the tacos with is amazing. They have great prices. Their burritos are always packed and have great flavor with every bite. The only downfall of this place is that the inside comes off as grimy and doesn't smell the best. My family walked in and could barely stand the smell. I think if it updated a little bit, it would change the atmosphere there tremendously. read more

Customer service, food taste and quality were all good. Don't have a complaint great little spot for some cheap fast tacos. Haven't had a bad dish yet. I still haven't had something from that jumps off the plate like WOW, only reason it doesn't have 5 stars. read more

Skip the chicken, head straight for the steak or al pastor. Honorable mention to the carnitas. This place is authentic, tasty and the people that work here are super friendly. If you are local, this should be your "go-to" Mexican place. read more

Met for lunch yesterday with my honey boo. We had the steak taco dinner and the beef taco dinner. Those tacos are so full and the beans are creamy and delicious. I can never eat all of it. Two dinners and a side of chips and salsa for twenty one dollars. Feels like a small family business and the food and service are great. I think we stopped in here by chance one day and I'm glad we did. read more

I love their steak tacos!!! They're the best!!! They are delicious every time!!! Their "horchata" rice water is also really good. Great customer service, they make you feel welcome all the time. I still haven't been to another taco place like this. You will definitely be coming back I can guarantee that. Been coming coming here since we moved to the suburbs 7 years ago. read more

There are a few Mexican places within 5-10 minutes of home and even though this one is the furthest from me, I end up coming here for my burritos. I'm usually a steak burrito kind of guy, but their chicken burritos are fantastic here! They also have pretty good carrots and peppers. Most places make them kind of bland, but they've got a little bit of a kick here. Overall, I've never had any complaints here and I keep coming back time after time!! It's not the prettiest place, but it's definitely got great food!! read more

Great tacos, burritos and platters. What truly makes this place shine though is their guacamole. I simply randomly ordered it to accompany my pastor tacos and what came out was this delicious made from scratch mixture of chunky tomatoes onions and avocados loaded with fresh cilantro. They are accompanied by flash fried tortilla chips and are truly a magical surprise. Strongly recommend!! read more

Favorite local place to get takeout - amazing food, quick service and the people are all so nice!

Best Mexican food in the area! We've tried so many other Mexican restaurants in the area and this one by far tops the chart. Sometimes they do get the order wrong (which they always correct), but the quality of the food just wipes out the negative. Lastly there service is always super fast! read more

Okay I have to update my review. Although the flavor of the food is still very good, Maria's now gets only 2 stars because the last TWO times that I have ordered from here my burritos had an extra ingredient.......a thick, black hair!!! Sorry, i cannot bring myself to eat here ever again. read more

Not that good. Any review of this place being decent must have been wrote by someone who doesn't know good cheap mexican food. Maria's can fill the void but stick with the steak. The chicken had a bad after taste, beef tostadas tasted bad and where half the shell they should be. Still searching for a good spot in the Oak Forest for Mexican good Mexican out south is hard to find. read more

The food is really good. I have been here a few times and I don't have no complains about this place. The rice water is really good!

Great steak tacos, been going here for 7 years now. Took a star off only bc the place could be updated and sometimes the food takes 10 mins while Spanish speaking people can come in, order and leave before you ever get yours. You've got a good thing going here, don't screw it up with preferential treatment! read more
