Always wanted to try this place whenever I'd go to Dominoes. A co-worker recommended. Decided to try I was a bit shocked when looking at the prices on the menu, but since I was already inside and drove here figured I'd try it. Ordered the nachos with meat (steak) and a steak torta with everything. The steak was well seasoned, no grizzly fatty pieces like some other restaurants like to use and very tender. My son enjoyed his torta said the same it was well seasoned. The young lady at the counter was very nice and restaurant was very clean and would go back just for the nachos they were delicious. read more

I ordered the steak nachos. They give you a pretty good amount of meat, but unfortunately it had absolutely no flavor at all. It did not even taste like it was seasoned. The nachos itself also did not have any flavor. Chips were very bland, I could barely taste the cheese. I was very disappointed. My fiancé ordered a steak burrito. I thought his burrito was pretty good, this steak seemed to be seasoned a little bit better. However, still nothing exciting. I don't see us going back. Well there's no spit in it buuuut this is not a repeat place for me . The tacos look appetizing but don't let it fool you. Even though the customer service, cleanliness, and food temperature were adequate I would like the tacos to have flavor. Trying the al pastor, generally a very flavorful and marinated taco meat, tasted like chewing ingredients but don't ask me what it tasted like....idk. After using Yelp to find some Mexican restaurants in the area, this was one of the places listed. The pictures of the place are a bit misleading, in the pictures the place looks spotless. But after sitting down it look like the place could have used a good cleaning including the restroom. Knowing that I was going to have tacos, there was no reason to look at a menu. There was no menu offered up, bit they have a big dry erase board on the wall with the items offered. From looking at the menu on Yelp to the prices on the board, there has been a price increase. The waitress/cashier brought a basket of warm tortilla chips which nice and crunchy. My plate of tacos came out and first impression was that they were nicely filled. And upon picking one up, they were piping hot. But as others have stated they were kind of bland and the meat was dry. No need to repeat a visit here. read more

This place is taking advantage of the soda tax and price gouging. I've been to Marias at least 15 times since I first walked in. I drove past this place for years. I was always scared by the fact that there was no name on the sign. My first impression of the place was that it was a hole in the wall. However, that dive feeling brought back memories of some of my favorite hole in the wall places in Chicago. What's good here? Well I personally enjoy the tacos. I've had bistec, barbacoa, al pastor, lengua and tripas. The hot sauce is good as well Bistec - I'm not a fan of this type of tacos as I prefer true carne asada. But they are decent. Nothing to get excited about, but "for the area" they are good. Al pastor - if you like your pork tacos cooked on a spindle with a pineapple sitting on top these are not it. However, they are still pretty good. Not as good as Al Pastor from El Azador in Chicago, but good. Barbacoa - I tried their barbacoa for the first time a few weeks ago and was surprised at how tasty it was. I had a couple of barbacoa tacos again tonight and it didn't disappoint. Great hidden gem for authentic tacos in the southwest suburbs! The waitress in the evening is super friendly. The day time waitress is not as nice. :0 ( Yes the bathroom is not the cleanest, but it's not the first hole in the wall with a dirty bathroom. Who cares! It's part of the dive experience. Ordered a chicken burrito with just beans and cheese. Better taste than I expected and especially from what the place inside looks like. Couldn't perceive any cheese at all which really was disappointing! If someone is paying $8+ and wants some cheese on it - put some cheese on it! I'll have to try their steak burrito and hope I also get some cheese! If you want authentic, go here. It is my favorite place for tacos in town. Their green sauce to top the tacos with is amazing. They have great prices. Their burritos are always packed and have great flavor with every bite. The only downfall of this place is that the inside comes off as grimy and doesn't smell the best. Met for lunch yesterday with my honey boo. We had the steak taco dinner and the beef taco dinner. Those tacos are so full and the beans are creamy and delicious. I can never eat all of it. Two dinners and a side of chips and salsa for twenty one dollars. Feels like a small family business and the food and service are great. There are a few Mexican places within 5-10 minutes of home and even though this one is the furthest from me, I end up coming here for my burritos. I'm usually a steak burrito kind of guy, but their chicken burritos are fantastic here! They also have pretty good carrots and peppers. Most places make them kind of bland, but they've got a little bit of a kick here. Overall, I've never had any complaints here and I keep coming back time after time!! I simply randomly ordered it to accompany my pastor tacos and what came out was this delicious made from scratch mixture of chunky tomatoes onions and avocados loaded with fresh cilantro. I went there on a slow, rainy Saturday afternoon. The girl running the register and bringing the food was very nice and helpful. The food came out quick and tasted good. I got three tacos and rice. The three tacos were chorizo, pork, and dry beef. They were all good. The guacamole was my favorite. It was pretty spicy and I loved it. You can get mild or spicy too. It was the some of the best in the area from what I have tried. The restaurant was clean and organized. I will return again when I am in the area looking for food. read more
