Hard to gauge the quality of this place seeing one review is 5-star and the next is 1-star, which leads me to believe it's not the food quality but rather the service and employee problems. So I ordered a Steak Fujita Burrito which is a rare item to see because most burritos are made with lettuce instead of peppers and onions as the way the fajitas are made which is way more nutritious and better tasting! Glad to report that it was very good and the steak was good too with very little gristle. The place only has like four tables but can accommodate several more. The employees were ok and had no problems with their performance. So really I have nothing bad to say and will return with hopefully the same experience many times to come! read more

I've dined at El Burrito Rey in November and December 2022 during dinner time. This small restaurant is located in a strip mall across the street from Super Walmart in Country Club Hills, IL. There is ample parking. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. There were a few tables to dine in, which is appropriate for small groups. The first time, I ordered a Beef Burrito and Fries. The Beef Burrito was delicious and made to order. It was fresh and the ingredients were plentiful. I would order that again. I ordered the Chicken Burrito the second time. The Chicken Burrito was very flavorful and moist, but the burrito lacked ingredients. It was just a bunch of chicken. I won't order that again. Both times, the food was prepared quickly and fresh. Both burritos cost around 13 dollars and the portion size of the burritos are huge. The fries were skimpy, and I wish the portions were bigger. The customer service was average. The cashier was a bit impatient and wasn't friendly, but she did greet me. Overall, my experience at this restaurant was good and the food was fulfilling. I would definitely return. read more

I recommend you do the same. My steak taco dinner SMACKED even though I went in at 1:30 am on a Saturday, knowing they close at 2am. Usually you get trash food and trash service at restaurants when you do that, but I was greeted as if it was the start of their shift. I Was a little irritated because the cashier said she was new and they didn't train her on how to take coupons, which I believed, but it was disappointing nonetheless because I'd saved it for this occasion and ordered a bunch of food just to not get to use it . This place offers a variety that I think pleases a young community as well. They posted a video on Facebook of their burrito that contains hot cheetos in it and everyone seemed so excited about it. Not many mexican places around here do that so it definitely makes them different in that way. Their tacos are good. I get the steak tacos everytime with a side of elote and I'm never disappointed.
