Standing there looking at the menu, I was surprised to see that their electronic menu has commercials, which last 45 seconds, preventing you from seeing the menu during that time. Then I asked for a single burrito with suizo, which was on the menu. I was told I would be charged for the dinner, Even though the menu clearly stated Single Burrito 10.99 add Suizo $2.00 more. I asked why I had to pay for a dinner, when the menu showed differently. I was told "it's just the way we do it". From the picture, you can see this item is offered. I was not asking for anything special. I did order and my burrito tasted good. But the upcharge of $4 for an ounce of rice and an ounce of beans set the tone for my visit. read more

I am absolutely blown away by the amazing vegan options here. Not only is the vegan menu massive, you can tell by the authentic flavors they really put their heart and soul into it! Today was my second time enjoying the food here, and I met the owner-- what a wonderful, kind & passionate individual. The jackfruit is out of this world! And don't get me started on the vegan horchata, it's to die for! Please support this AMAZING establishment, they deserve more hype! Coming into Cervantinos you'll notice that they're proud to showcase their #2 Mexican Cuisine in Palos Heights award, and it was well earned. The pastor was well seasoned and great in the burrito, the carne asada tacos were slightly under seasoned but heavy on meat to counter that, and arguably one of the best horchata's I've had. The service was quick while the inside was clean and well kept. The grill-master even came out to check in while eating which is rare to see. All said, a very solid Mexican spot worth checking out and worth their award. Looking forward to coming back and seeing #1 soon. read more

The customer service is consistently excellent. Great attitude from the team. Everyone is always in a good mood. The food is great. The vibe is very cozy. We stopped here while enroute to Midway for a flight looking for a late lunch, early dinner. The restaurant is in a strip mall type location and is the second location for the business. The first we were told is quite successful and has a bar, with this new location having lots of business from local lunch traffic and takeout. The dining area and kitchen are both very clean. I saw the kitchen firsthand after the manager was kind enough to allow me use of the staff bathroom. A new patron bathroom coming soon. We started with chips salsa and guac which was fresh and tasty. We each enjoyed enchiladas for our meal, one with refried and one with whole black beans. This restaurant used quality ingredients that are seasoned and cooked well. The manager told us the chicken in our dishes was smoked by them, and we agreed tasted great. The black beans were seasoned well and addictive to eat with the freshly made rice. We were given a free sample of their shrimp and fish which I was cautious to try but it was fresh, hot, and seasoned well. I would consider getting it if I went back, even though I am careful on the road for fresh seafood. I have enjoyed countless Mexican feeds around the U.S. with an occasional dud. I have had many in simple locations, surrounded by Mexican patrons, that was outstanding food. This food is excellent and worth the trip and visit to try. It's simple, well made, fresh. We enjoyed the vegan option as well as the pot roast burrito. I was hesitant to try the vegan tacos but my friend convinced me to try one. I ate two!! They were tasty with a combination of textures. As a taco connoisseur I can't say enough great things about this place or its staff. We walked in last night and were greeted warmly. We had tacos, a burrito and nachos. He even threw in an extra tamale!! Excellent food (protein was moist, tender and had great color and smoky seasoned flavor), beautifully spicy salsa, and amazing staff.
