We found this place on YELP!! We were on the highway passing through and needed some lunch. Reviews looked decent for this place. My fellow Yelpers didn't fail us....this place was excellent!! My Chorizo Breakfast Burrito was 5/5 stars!!! HUGE, tasty with excellent quality chorizo, NOT greasy at all. The taquitos were bland and just an over bit overcooked. Had lunch here today on the recommendation of a local. Very pleasantly surprised. Living in SoCal, I like to think I know good Mexican food. I had a wet burrito, ground beef, with red sauce. I guess I'm not as big of a fan as other people seem to be. I've eaten here half a dozen times, almost always try something different. I'm usually underwhelmed or just... whelmed? A lot of the items are a step above most of the other Mexican food places around (Muchas Gracias, Ixtapa, El Tapatio, Taco Bell), they actually impart some flavors and TRY to make good food, it doesn't all just taste like bland slop. But still, it has never blown my mind or anything. not good customer service, I didn't realize there was cheese on the veggie burrito (I can't eat dairy) and when I stop them while making it after noticing the cheese they say they can't make a new burrito and I should've read the menu. deciding I didn't want the burrito anymore (I already paid so whatever) and am about to leave the cook said he will remake it (which was nice) but the cashier says "if anyone else was working it would be a no" and gives me attitude the entire time I was there after. I understand it's frustrating having to remake an order but the blatant rudeness was ridiculous. Great burritos which are stuffed tight and full of whatever you're getting. Could be bigger and a bit spicier, but the price can't be beat. Service is quick, and if it isn't you can always go to the pet store next door or do your laundry at the laundromat a block away. Small-town food that beats the spendier places in the city like San Felipe's. Maybe we were there on an off day. Maybe we are spoiled by Mexican food from many different regions. Not sure why all of the high reviews, but our visit was not one that earned much favour. Burritos were bland and really lacking good flavours. Older lady who served us seemed like she did not want to be there and was put off by requests (extra onion, no veggies, etc) on our orders.
