The food is very sub par. I actually really liked their salsa, but everything else was underwhelming. The guy working the front barely looked us in the eye when we ordered. Had lunch here today on the recommendation of a local. Very pleasantly surprised. Living in SoCal, I like to think I know good Mexican food. I had a wet burrito, ground beef, with red sauce. I guess I'm not as big of a fan as other people seem to be. I've eaten here half a dozen times, almost always try something different. I'm usually underwhelmed or just... whelmed? A lot of the items are a step above most of the other Mexican food places around (Muchas Gracias, Ixtapa, El Tapatio, Taco Bell), they actually impart some flavors and TRY to make good food, it doesn't all just taste like bland slop. But still, it has never blown my mind or anything. One of the best burritos I've had and at a very reasonable price. Fresh, house made Tortilla chips were great! A hidden gem in a small town.

My girlfriend and me had three kinds of traditional street tacos. All were well done and as expected from this type of small home-spun Mexican restaurant. not good customer service, I didn't realize there was cheese on the veggie burrito (I can't eat dairy) and when I stop them while making it after noticing the cheese they say they can't make a new burrito and I should've read the menu. deciding I didn't want the burrito anymore (I already paid so whatever) and am about to leave the cook said he will remake it (which was nice) but the cashier says "if anyone else was working it would be a no" and gives me attitude the entire time I was there after. I understand it's frustrating having to remake an order but the blatant rudeness was ridiculous. Great burritos which are stuffed tight and full of whatever you're getting. Could be bigger and a bit spicier, but the price can't be beat. Service is quick, and if it isn't you can always go to the pet store next door or do your laundry at the laundromat a block away. Small-town food that beats the spendier places in the city like San Felipe's. Maybe we were there on an off day. Maybe we are spoiled by Mexican food from many different regions. Not sure why all of the high reviews, but our visit was not one that earned much favour. Burritos were bland and really lacking good flavours. Older lady who served us seemed like she did not want to be there and was put off by requests (extra onion, no veggies, etc) on our orders. Since Fred Meyer stopped selling dried chilies and removed their ethnic spice section, this is the place to go for dried chilies and whole cumin in Scappoose. The set up of this place is always a little strange... Is it a store? Is it a restaurant? Is it fast food? But their food is always really tasty. I had a potato burrito that was absolutely delicious & it was HUGE. A guy who ordered ahead of me got some loaded fries that looked amazing. I'd come back to try them!
