Permanent marker on my burrito

I used to love this place and would come at least once a week but recently they have gone so down hill it's really sad. About a month ago they completely messed up my order and when I called they told me the next time come in it would be free, so sure enough I come back next week and they tell me they cant honor their word and instead they gave me a lousy two dollars off. I didn't go back for maybe two weeks then I had my husband go back because again I used to love their food but when he came back his burrito had a hair in it and when we contacted them they told us they would refund our order but never did. THEN today my grandpa decided to get me food from their because he knows I love it and hasn't heard about my problems with them recently and when I open my burrito there was permanent marker on my tortilla :( go to a different location they don't honor their word and they don't seem to care

They serve fantastic breakfast burritos and at a great cost. I ordered a breakfast burrito with green chile, egg, and bacon for $4.50 and it is large (see pic). It was absolutely delicious. Although the green chile was more on the mild side than I prefer. We ordered drive thru. It was fast and easy. We will be returning before we leave!

Great burritos!! The taste is good but what really makes these special is the freshly made tortillas!! I only wish there was a burrito bundle of some sort. Burritos are delicious and they are big!

Big Breakfast Burrito with bacon and Christmas chile. Long and skinny but good.

I had the biscuits and gravy and enjoyed every bite. The biscuits tasted fresh-made and my eggs were cooked perfectly. Husband enjoyed his chicken fried steak. I also enjoyed the O.J., which tasted fresh squeezed (I like fresh and tasty ). The decor was patriotic with pictures and medals and flags... along with good stories of some of our great heroes. We will definitely be back to this local gem.

Wow . This was one of the best DoorDash meals I've had in a very very long time. The food itself is…read morea very solid 5+ star meal. Outstanding! I don't even know where to start but here goes. The New Mexican Philly cheesesteak, arguably my favorite dish, very very different take on what a cheesesteak usually is (not in a bad way). I was first skeptical when I ordered it, but I saw all the great reviews on the dish so I had to try. This was oddly enough my 4th favorite Philly cheesesteak I've ever had, which is weird to say because the first 3 favorites were actually in Philly and made the traditional way. Something about the spicy queso sauce and the soft fatty tasting meat just really brought it home. The huevos rancheros: every inch was flavorful , saucy, cheesy and lovely. I enjoyed even more the parts where I could also taste the tortilla at the bottom, wish it was in more of the dish but it's okay the flavors were outstanding. Another 5 star dish! Next time I'll also try it with eggs over medium. The Xmas chile cheese fries: best chile cheese fries in New Mexico! The fries themselves tasted like they were hand cut, so either they had some high quality freezer fries or they definitely cut those fries by hand. Either way I wasn't complaining! Their green chile was insanely good. We also had the Green Chile stew, the flavors and ingredients were really good. I think for people that love home cooking this will feel really nostalgic for them. Like grandmas caldo she used to make. For me, the dry texture of the beef reminded me way too much of my mom's dry / rough beef she always had in her stews . Objectively I can say it was a really nice caldo, but the tortillas, not sure how I could grab on to much of the food with it really. I think this might be a dish best eaten in house. I also tipped their staff $2 in addition to the driver tip , and they wrote a funny joke on the plate which I thought was cute haha. I kept the rating at 5 stars but I hope that management reads this review because I do have one critique. All the food was in styrofoam and non sustainable plastic. Styrofoam especially has been banned from some places including California because when heated it, it adds cancer causing chemicals into your food. I would gladly pay $0.35 per meal to receive the meals in sustainable packaging that will keep me healthy. Because of this, I think I won't be ordering from here for delivery and hope that I have time to make the 20 minute drive to go there in person. It's really good food! Found this place on DoorDash but the funny part is it's been near my house the whole time next to the barber shop I've been to plenty of times.

Yes, the chiles are vegan. (So are the beans - pressure-cooked to creamy tenderness.) Yes, they're delicious - both the red (from pods!) and the green. (And, yes, it's me - noted grumpy traditionalist who usually wants an extra scoop of bacon grease in pretty much every dish - who's writing that.) The room is small, but well thought-out. There are nice little two-top tables outside along the sidewalk/patio in this pleasant part of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. Lavender Cocinita is popular, with a steady stream of folks coming in - but I've never had a problem getting seated and I've never felt rushed (even when sitting a while, jabbering in the chile afterglow). (Free parking is plentiful in the area, but a little weird in the Los Ranchos pedestrian area: your best bet might be trying for street parking on Tyler Road, the E/W street just N of the restaurant.) The chef is friendly and will answer questions. The counter folks have always been friendly and kind: checking on us periodically. Really nice folks. It's an order-at-the-counter/pay/take-a-seat/they-bring-it-to-you place, but the service is good enough that you'll kick yourself if you don't tip heavier than usual for such an arrangement. Get your own water at the counter. Food is cooked to order (perfectly in all my visits thus far) and will take a few minutes to get to your table, but you'll be happy. Portions are always large (I leave full, and I'm a big eater) and the cost is on the low edge of today's pricing. The chiles are real-deal: they tend to be notably more piquant than at most places in town but they're real chile and vary in heat with the batch being served (I am used to and appreciate heat and one time the green was HOT!). As noted, the flavors are just wonderful. Bear in mind, NM red and green chiles are relatively simple sauces with few components: the artistry of the chef and the quality of the ingredients are absolutely vital to the flavor impact of the finished product served - and Lavender Cocinita absolutely nails this. Foodies have written the place up over and over, and they've won awards that would impress folks in the know in the short time (less than two years) they've been open. Without being melodramatic, this place gives a serious-about-the-flavors vibe that reminds me of those noted in places that have won James Beard American Classic awards. Lavender Cocinita is a reasonably inconvenient drive for me, but every time I've made it I've driven back with a grin and a vow to do it again soon.

Oh and the scent of wood burning, one of my favorite scents, just utterly intoxicating. That's all I needed for love at first sight and smell. Admittedly, I only had a drink at the bar, but you can see that I basked in the glory that is this lovely establishment. The service is so incredibly nice (the bartender said we could stay as long as we wanted, even though it was almost closing time). Yes, of course, I had one of the lavender drinks. Perfection.
