I recently purchased two items and attempted to return them the very next day with my original receipt. The only issue was that the tags had come off while trying the items on (I placed them in the pockets so they would not be lost). The associate at the register (Devin) refused to process my return because the tags were not attached, even though I had both the items, the tags, and the receipt from the exact store. She also suggested the items might have come from another store, which was insulting and inaccurate. I even remembered the manager who assisted me the night of my purchase, as it was only the evening before. I understand Burlington's return policy requires tags to be attached, but in this case, the tags were still present and the purchase was clearly verified with the receipt. I feel this situation could have been handled with more flexibility and certainly more courtesy. I would appreciate clarification on whether Burlington can accommodate returns where the tags are present but not physically attached, and I also wish to share my concern about the customer service I received at this location. Busy on the weekend which is to be expected. The biggest pro is that this is the FIRST Burlington where I have seen someone organizing & straightening the store plus setting up endcaps etc during a shift. Kudos to the tall guy that did that before leaving the store for the day. This store was pretty trashed on a busy Saturday. The clothes here are not very good. They are picked over and seemingly not of the highest quality but the home stuff , luggage, and accessories were pretty good. Shoes are hit & miss. There was a long check out line that you entered in a department and had no sight of the front. Understaffing is definitely an issue here. Despite the huge line there was one and then two cashiers but the supervisor was making price tags and cleaning up. My cashier was friendly. Don't buy too much, only what you can carry. Loss prevention allows no carts outside. All in all even with the long wait and having to pick through loads of merchandise they had what I wanted so I give it an ok. I am an average size man. At 5'11", husky build, I wear a size XL. I was searching for a white dress shirt or two to wear with suits. At this particular Burlington Coat Factory in Vacaville today at 12 noon, I found exactly four XL white dress shirts, all SLIM-FIT. And two XXL white dress shirts, SLIM-FIT. Even worse, upon browsing mens COATS at Burlington Coat FACTORY, size XL or XXL, I counted seven coats. That's right, seven coats XL or greater at Burlington Coat FACTORY. The building that houses this COAT FACTORY which is probably about 25,000-35,000sq feet had 7 men's coats size XL or larger. Absolutely pathetic. That's like going to an ice cream shop and choosing from between only 7 cups of ice cream in stock for the entire ice cream store for the entire day. Walmart has more men's coats then Burlington Coat Factory. What a waste of time. The first and last time I will step into Burlington Coats at Vacaville location. The Burlington Factory's in the Seattle Metro area were STACKED with coats as far as the eye could see. I know California is warmer, but SEVEN COATS???! That's it?? And 6 white dress shirts XL or greater?!! ALL SLIM-FIT?!!! Where the heck are all these slim people??! I don't know any grown man over the age of 21 that fits a slim!!! NONE. Well I initially interviewed here for a job yet I didn't get it. The store tends to get a lot of phone calls to the police for theft. There's security right where you walk in through the door which is good I think. There should be more cameras especially since theft is common at this location. The selection is decent, you really have to spend time to find what you're looking for. The store in Vacaville California has an area sectioned off when you enter so you can not walk straight into the store. The associate tells you they are talking a picture of you without waiting for permission or allowing for questions- like how are you using my image in a way a regular security camera can not capture? The first time I went to a Burlington Coat Factory I was in college. I went with my friends Melissa and Elena and they were raving about it and I didn't know why. But I learned. I didn't buy anything, already had my coats, but I enjoyed being there with them. But after graduation, I moved home and there wasn't one near me, so I didn't go to one. So when the renamed Burlington opened up near me, I was excited. But once I entered, I was like, eh - it's OK. I was hoping this one would be better since it was out in the burb-burbs. Slim pickings that's fsure. I walked in and the selection was bare to the bone. The entire back corner was empty, like - are you guys closing down or what? Luckily I was able to find a Jessica Simpson jacket with an original price of $110 and out the door I paid $44.99. Not bad. Angelica was great, she was able to accommodate a price match with the jacket because there was an identical black jacket that was priced $44.99 but the green one I purchased wasn't marked down. She was able to price match so that I was able to purchase the color I wanted! This used to be a place where you can score some pretty good finds for a very low price. However I noticed that ever since this store has done their remodel, the quality of the clothing has definitely gone downhill. Now a percentage of that may be due to the fact that covid has slowed down a lot of the movement of consumer goods and so a lot of the clothing that they get is just not coming in as fast as they used to get them. However I do notice that the general crowd that shops at the store has also gone downhill as well. Every time I come here now it's like a madhouse. It was like a ton of people here and they bring about four or five children per family and it's definitely not comfortable to shop in here especially when you don't know whether or not other people have been vaccinated. Therefore I may not be coming back here for a while. You can still find maybe one or two okay finds here, especially for home goods and toys, but the price is definitely gone up a few dollars and it adds up the more stuff you get. read more

Buyer beware! if I could give less than one I would. Bought a coat for a Christmas gift in December wanted to exchange for a larger one paid $60 for it had receipt. First of all staff was very rude second they told me they would give me a store credit I said fine my mom will go get another coat then they were only going to give me $21 because the item had been marked down since I purchased it. Called corporate office in New Jersey they basically told me go to Hell That is their policy. Needless to say our family will never shop there again. Besides that has gotten very trashy. Came here with my friends, and it was the first time I was in a Burlington Coat Factory. I've always seen their commercials but never been into one. I like the huge selection of different items you can get here. So my friends were looking at the women's shoe selection, but sadly there wasn't a huge selection but a decent amount. The other thing is, it was kind of hard to figure out the prices for the shoes. The shoes range from $20-$40. It was pretty decent for the brands they offered, although I did wish they were neater and more organized. My roommate asked the cashier what the return policy was, and the cashier had to go ask her manager. This Burlington location is just okay. I feel like it doesn't have as great of an inventory as other location but it will still have your basics. Their home decor here is pretty cute. I actually found a lot of decor here that I used for my sister's bridal shower (Kate Spade Theme). I came here with my mom over the weekend and we were buying some baby goods for my baby cousin. I was shocked to see that they have strollers, cribs and everything! Some even had really pretty designs! Now I know where to go when I have a baby LOL JK! read more

Oh my! I came here thinking that I was going to run in and find a light weight dress jacket. To my surprise and disappointment they had a large variety of the same kind of jacket that I wasn't looking for. In more than 3 different colors. I must have come in on an off day because a number of my friends say they have purchased coats from here. I just didn't see any jackets that appealed to me. With that being said, they had a lot of other items in the store that I took advantage of and purchased. They had a large variety of linens and cute things for the bathroom. I didn't stop there. I strutted myself over to housewares. Bonus! I found some of my favorite kitchenware right here and for almost half the price. I also found small stocking stuffers which was pretty dog gone awesome. The employees seemed very busy. I felt kinda sorry for them. We just kept messing up their little organized stacks of products. Very great selections for very low prices are always a steal when you have children. I found tons of stuff! They have a wide variety of things to choose from. It'll take you some time but I guarantee you it's worth all the searching! Only thing bad was the non work related conversations going on. It was a bunch of young women on duty at the front and They were discussing the types of men they liked and how they referred Latino men as spicy and I didn't catch the rest of the conversation. But the way i was trained in the work field is that customers should be your priority. Personal conversations can be conducted on lunch or break times. A lot has changed since the last reviews. I went in there and it had tons of winter jackets, in time for skiing. I also looked at some limited selection for dog beds. Too expensive but found a cheaper, better one at Ross. While walking around, I found an identical jacket, that I bought at Macy's 5 years ago, hanging on the rack. I bought it for $350 and it was on sale for $99. I was embarrassed because I was wearing it. The problem is that they only have selected sizes so if you find a good looking jacket, you might not find it in your size. read more

I had my fanypack open (I took my phone out to reply to a text) and this tall balled African man walked rudely by me and looked in my bag has if I took something? That is so disrespectful in my book. I've been going to this Burlington location for years. Tonight was the first time I've experienced any kind of discrimination from an employee here. Most of the people who work here have been nice to me hence I keep going back there. But I just have to write a review about this because it is important that the employees there know that they are in customer service. And for whoever is reading these reviews to SPEAK UP if they encounter anything like this. I went to this location to look for semi-formal wear because I have an interview for a job tomorrow. So I was going to get an entire outfit. Cute top, blazer, slacks, handbag and shoes. Naturally, I would want to have a couple of options. So I made my selections and was on my way to the fitting room when an employee, Olivia, stopped me by the door. She had already been looking at me when I picked out the shoes and handbag. I didn't think nothing of it until she stopped me by the door and very rudely said that I only get to take 6 clothes. Now, when I used to go to that fitting room there would be a camera at the top of the door and no one usually stops me to say `hey, only x amounts of clothes is allowed'. So if anyone were to take something there's a video of it. I didn't know about the 6 clothes limit as well. The fact remains that she was very aggressive about it. I had about 8 clothes with me at the time. And without asking me which clothes I wanted to try on if there were only 6 that I can go inside with. She basically GRABBED the clothes from me and chose herself which ones I could try on. I had to ask her if I could choose which clothes I wanted to try on twice. She was that focused on, I guess, making sure I don't steal anything. If I were going to steal any of the clothes or shoes. They weren't going to fit in that handbag that was filled with paper or in my pockets (I didn't have a purse with me. My credit card and drivers license were in my phone wallet). She also told me that I couldn't take that handbag or the shoes in there. Which I was able to do before. In her own words 'there is no reason, no reason at all to take a handbag in there'. I could barely get a word in edgewise cause she was just very disrespectful. I was taken aback. But I wanted to see what it looked like with my outfit. That's why I got the handbag. Even then, there is a way to tell a customer about the rules that won't make them feel like a criminal. Suspicion is never a good basis for treating people in that manner. Cause in this case... she was wrong. I ended up not buying anything cause I was just disgusted by her behavior the more I thought about it. I didn't want to say anything at first... but I wondered if I wasn't the only one she's treated like that. So if anyone ever experiences anything like this. You need to speak up so the management can correct it. I know I'm just one voice. But I am still saying my piece. Props to the manager though. I had to find another employee so I could speak to the manager. The guy that usually works where the wall decorations are. He's very helpful. I saw the manager, I think he's new as well(asian guy with a beard), going to the area where Olivia was working. Hopefully, he talked to her about it. I don't know if it was the clothes I was wearing, my face, or because I had a lot of items picked out. But he can't have someone treating the customers like that. I love the merchandise selection here but the store is so messy and disorganized. There's no one cleaning up the changing rooms which looked like a garage sale.
