She made my transaction so smooth and easy and less stressful, especially because I drove out of my way from Palo Alto. Bathroom and fitting room is always close. They do not open it for you. Not a good place to do shopping at all. I have kids with me and we literally needed to leave in the middle of shopping because they do not allow anything to be used. Very inconvenient and very inconsiderate place to be in. The workers and manager incharge doesn't care about their customers. My daughter asked to use their restroom 30 minutes before I did, but they didn't allow her to use it. They keep telling everyone, "it's closed." Imagine doing your shopping and in need to leave because you need to use the restroom in the middle of your shopping? So inconvenient right? I asked 2 employees politely and none of them wanted to help open the bathroom. If my daughter and my husband didn't take their time to get what they needed, we would've left all the stuff behind, without buying anything. But considering they spent good amount of time looking for things, I waited in line to pay while my husband took my daughter and our little one to use the bathroom. In the end, I lost my cool. I became the rude customer. I gave the same treatment they treated us. Like they say, "you treat others, the way you want to be treated." If you don't want to loose your temper, DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. If I can give zero star to this place, I would. I'm currently sitting in the parking lot after being told the store was closed, even though I arrived at 11:52 PM specifically to grab a set of curtains. I already knew exactly what I needed, so this wasn't going to be a long shopping trip. The elderly woman working the front door in loss prevention told me, "We're closed." I asked, "Don't you close at 12?" and she replied, "Well, it's five minutes before we close." I waited for a moment, and when I saw a customer walk out, I tried to ask a question. Before I could even speak, she cut me off again with, "We're closed." I explained that I just wanted to know what time they actually close or lock the doors. She told me 11:30 PM. That was news to me. I've come close to closing time before and never had an issue, so if the policy changed, the signage definitely needs to be updated. So if you guys want the store's door to be closed before 11:30PM, PUT UP THAT SIGN FOR THE TIME WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. That should be the closing time!!! Not 11:30PM then. I love Burlington and always go to the one in Fremont. This union city location has SO many clothes and items. But what's the point if your dressing room is closed????? I've been here twice and no dressing room available. How are people supposed to try on clothes...? You have a staff member standing at the door literally just greeting people and blocking them from coming in, If you have a concern with who's entering the store and trying to prevent theft, why don't you hire a real security guard ...And use the regular employee at the fitting rooms instead of just standing in one spot for 8 hours granting us entrance to your store like we're entering a movie theater ... Me and my friend came here today at 9:40 and for some strange reason the doors did not open for us. I've been to this location twice in one week First time I shopped there everything was ok. Clean but it looked liked they were low on inventory. I was able to find some good deals on things The cashier was nice, friendly and efficient As I walked out with a cart full of items an employee told me that the cart wheels lock as soon as I walk out of the store and that I need to carry all of my items to my car with out using the cart WHAT IN THE HECK. I came on the soft opening on 3/5/2020. The grand opening is the next day and I was told the first 500 customers get a tote bag. This location replaced the old Babies R Us. I haven't been into a Burlington in years but it pretty much looked like a bigger Ross (which they now share a parking lot with). It was very organized and clean probably because it's still new but it had a bigger selection. As a mom I was intrigued by their kid section. It almost reminded me of Targets kid section because they had cribs displayed and strollers too! Pretty awesome! Lastly, the checkout process was similar to Marshall's and the staff was friendly! Listen: if bargain-hunting were a sport, I would be in Division 1, baby. I'm an avid Ross and TJ Maxx browser and I recently decided to add Burlington CF to my rounds. I recently visited the one in Vacaville and, while I found some great finds, the store was a mess, the lights were dim and the atmosphere was downright depressing. I thought all Burlington stores must be this way as a way of saving money. But when my mom and I walked into this BCF in Union City, we were downright impressed. First, it was well lit throughout the store. Second, all, as in ALL, the aisles were neat and pleasantly organized. We were expressing our impressed state to the greeter/loss prevention man and he replied with pride, "of course, this place is ran by Filipinos!" Being a Filipino myself, I took pleasure in his pride. Being the first person you meet, he made a great impression on us as he was very personable and funny as well. We would've stayed longer but it was nap time for my daughter. However, we pushed the limit as much as we could and came away with some great finds. I wish this place had more workers on the floors though, but the one person I encountered, who was also a cashier, was very kind. My mom made sure we found the manager and gave her her accolades for a store well kept. If Burlington just had senior discount Tuesdays like Ross, it might give the latter a run for it's money! This placed opened in March 2020? Where have I been? Oh, yeah, shelter-in-place due to Covid happened also on March 2020 and we were all too paranoid to leave our homes, let alone shop for non-essentials. Fast forward to almost a year later when we are still a bit paranoid to leave our homes but now, we want to go out and step a bit out of our comfort zone. In this case, I needed some relaxing tea as my supply went very low and I was tired of the lack of choices I got at the grocery stores. My go-to for caffeine-free tea has always been the discount stores like TJ Max, Home Goods, Marshall's but those are all located in Fremont and a bit for me to drive. So off to Union Landing I went. First stop was Ross because I was able to get my teas here before Burlington opened but the choices this time were slim to none, so I had a good excuse to go next door to Burlington. They share a parking spot so we just walked it. Mask is required and they have guards to make sure you have it on. They also have hand sanitizers as you walk in. My son was with me and this used to be a Babies R Us and, for some reason, he said that the interior still reminds him of BRU. I used to shop here with him when it was BRU, up to when he we around 6 years old. He even pointed out to me where Kiddie Kandids used to be at. Anyway, this place is very big with a lot of spaces to walk on and there are definitely huge choices especially in their women's section from make-up, toiletries, clothing, bags and shoes. It's an all-in-one stop shop! I like how clean and organized everything is. I did find all kinds of caffeine-free teas and got several boxes along with so many snacks that you wouldn't see at grocery stores. The prices here are very competitive. When you check out, as always there are more awesome merchandise showcased as you wait for your turn. It's a good way to past time, bad if you're on a budget. When I paid, the cashier had me sign up for some sort of reward's program. I'm not exactly sure how it works but they did e-mail me a copy of my receipt after I got a paper copy of it. We will definitely come back here. Between Burlington and Ross, it's easy to find what you are looking for and even items you didn't think you need. LESLIE GAVE MY MOM THE MOST DISGUSTING INTERACTION TODAY! While my mom was trying on clothes and returning items back to the rack she intervened and was questioning the attending associate verifying that my mom was giving back clothes. When my mom heard she told her that she is aware of the limit of items you can have in a fitting room and Leslie took it upon herself to start arguing with my mom and very forcefully told the associate to "go to lunch, so I[she] can handle it". She also got very snotty with my mom when she asked for the corporate number and told her to "Google it". When my mom said she felt she was being discriminated against Leslie proceeded to laugh and said "Oh you are ha!". The manager also informed my mom that this isn't Leslie's first complaint. I had got hired here, first of all they made me go in about 1-4 times for orientation and every time I would go they would send me back home because the system was down, when I finally went for my orientation/trainning, nobody guide me through the process, they were suppose to tell me to fill in my card information in the workday app or else i would have to repeat the process again, the day I went in for actual work, after they called me saying I was suppose to fill in my card information, when I did, it locked me out my workday app. I told them about it and they said they would have to contact HR. I called so many times and talked to the Maneger, went into the store multiple times to talk to Betty about it, all the times she would say she would call me when HR got back to them. Never did. What can I say I walked out of the place under $100.00 worth of Christmas gifts. Why you asked? Because the prices here are pretty affordable. They offer a lot of gift sets at a reasonable price. There's a little bit of everything here for everyone. The store is recovered well and is cleaned. I got good customer service at the cash wrap. They accommodated my split transaction on half cash and half card. Even though there's a sign on the register saying there's a change shortage. But still honored cash. That's why for the five stars. The associates never exhibited any rudeness towards me. Free parking on the lot. Easy to find right off the freeway. I wish they would've had more clothing for sale though. We were so excited to see Burlington factory opened up in the neighborhood shopping complex. But all excitement turned into disappointment as many times i visited the store. First of all, there has been never enough staff including the cashier in the store. At times there is just 2-3 people managing the entire store. And to top it off, they are rude and sometimes extremely rude. I usually shrug of these behaviors as it seems they just don't like working at this place but an incident which happened during my last visit assured me that this place is not worth visiting ever. I was trying to get my daughter try some of the clothes including few vest which came in a pack of 3. The old lady at the fitting room started shouting at us unnecessarily and started snatching and throwing clothes in here and there. What i could understand that she doesn't know English very well and due to that was not able to make me understand that i was not allowed to try on clothes in packs. She even started pointing out the choice and size of clothes we picked saying this is too small for her, what?? Excuse me!! Who are you to tell me what we try and what we should not. Soon her body language become so intimidating that i had to tell her to call store manager to whom i can discuss what is all happening. She was so assured and confident that nothing gonna go against her that she quickly called the store manager. The store manager indeed was nice and did acknowledged the old ladies behavior and language issues but she also sarcastically told me that we can't do much about these employees who has been working here for 20 years, 20 years!! Really!! The store hasn't been opened for even 4-5 years. Long story in short, the staff at this store don't care of its customers, they are like take it or leave it, we don't care!! So do yourselves a favor specially if you don't want to ruin your day by few people who absolutely hate there job. I came here after the horrible shopping experience we received at Ross Next door. We were greeted with a smile and the associates walking the floor were extremely nice and helpful. Down to the moment of checking out and leaving the store, the employees were cheerful and polite! Even as they were dealing with an LP situation with a guy trying to leave with merchandise, they were still respectful towards him and acknowledged us as we we're leaving. I use to work at Burlington ( Union City ) Leslie (Manger) talks about her employees and was constantly on my ass for nothing she came out the women's bathroom just to watch me come out the men's bathroom just to ask me what i was doing in there. also Leslie wanted me to announce myself on the walkie talky every time i started my shift while other employees never did i felt like it was based off skin color & lets the supervisor (CJ) be on her phone around her & the other Cashier Supervisor was always on her phone too & Leslie never said a thing about it. Leslie also sent me home because i didn't say anything to a employee that was already clocking out for work. Not smart and I'm sure OSHA would agree that you should open every OTHER register to help social distancing among both staff and guests. This store needs some serious change. My family and I adore the greeters every time we come in yet when we shop the on floor staff are so rude and untrained.
